"I cannot recommend Smaka enough, I was there several times (for dinner and for brunch on Saturday) and the food and service are always brilliant. You have won t get a burger there, Swedish cuisine it is (I think), but if you love your food and you don't mind trying different and tasty dishes, then you must give it a try. I love my pancakes and can now say that I tried American, French and Swedish and would have second (third) help from all. The restaurant is on a quiet street and the decor is a bit boring (looks more like a pret a manger unfortunately as a place with unforgettable cooking), but it has great food and wine and it is excellent value for money."

"For what we had, it was a very expensive experience. The wine was overpriced and the meals were below the standard we expected. The chef has to look at the burgers. The taste and ingredients need a new technical specification. Please organize a tasting panel of locals."

"We called ahead yesterday after enjoying a drink, and ended our meal with the delicious bread and butter pudding with custard. My friends had the cheesecake with a unique twist, the scallops, and the lamb kebab. We also discovered the Moroccan mint tea with rose, which is a must-try. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning for our next visit to London."

"This is a hidden gem near the top of Leith Walk and not far from the Playhouse. Was here for lunch. There 's a great selection of beers and a small menu of typical pub grub and several Margarita Month cocktails. The decor is dark and cozy and features various artworks and historic posters relating to concerts and plays in Edinburgh. There 's also an interactive jukebox. Staff are super friendly and service was great Would recommend a visit."

"This spot has a good location, however the service and food let it down. We were seated upstairs and were forgotten about. A lengthy period went by before we finally managed to catch the eye of a downstairs waiter who came and took our order. Coffee was nice but the food disappointing and read better on the menu than it tasted. We ordered eggs florentine the bed of spinach was shredded do finely it was like grass. The vegan breakfast was also disappointing. The beans were stone cold on one side and hadn’t been reheated properly and unfortunately the smashed avocado tasted like it had vinegar through it rather than lemon. We were asked if we enjoyed our meal but sadly it came across as though the waiting staff genuinely weren’t interested. Overall disappointing."

"Today I had lunch at this restaurant, even though it is a bit far from my usual area. I came across some small reviews, so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered a vegetarian pizza and veggie with sweet potato for two people. The food was incredibly delicious and flavorful. The vanilla latte was a bit too strong for my taste, but overall it was still good. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I was pleased to see that they had Aqua Pana, which is not commonly found in restaurants. I took some videos and photos to share. Overall, a great dining experience. Goodbye!"

"Came here for something to eat/anniversary dinner before going to Sadler's Wells.....normally we go to The Gate further down towards the Theatre but its closed so we needed a new venue without just walking around. I found this on line. This was perfect.....The main courses...of Steak and Muscles we had were perfectly cooked as was the location and the staff.....especially the staff. However....the best bit was the Banoffee and Ice cream desert......just perfect and lovely....Make sure you have space for desert....I think during the day they will do lots of deserts with a cup of tea as these are all at the front of the Restaurant. There are a lot of places in this area...In our experience if you chose the F&O you will have a great meal, in a great location. Thank you for starting our evening off in a perfect way....And the Nutcracker at SW was great as well."

"I and my child went to the big moes dinner because we went to the liverpool Vs-Mann-Stadtspiel. I didn't have much, but I had a milkshake (what wa devine) and two bee in two jars that I really appreciate. my child had a burger and chips he said he was the best he ever had. "Visited for dinner on 22 Dec and was underwhelmed by the experience. The menu and food were passable but not exceptional by any standards. The staff were courteous but lacked any empathetic skills, going through the motions like disinterested drones. Noise levels were obtrusive on this occasion but I put that down to a large group of diners with young children, who were not making any attempt to keep the children quiet. The lady who seated us did apologise and try to seat us at a quiet spot Disappointed. Very disappointed."

"So there I am, on a beautiful warm Sunday, sitting at home by myself. Impossible. I decide that I need to go out ASAP and just do something. And what’s better than treating myself to a nice lunch. Yes, I’m one of those people that doesn’t mind eating by herself and, in fact, loves it. I started walking down Upper Street, without any clue as to where to sit down. The reason why I chose Blue Legume, was simply because of the open front seemed like exactly what I was looking for. Decided to go for an egg white omelette and the Spirulina smoothie. Omelette was light and exactly as it should be, but I think I was more grateful for the potatoes that came along with it very very well seasoned. I was, however, completely blown away by the smoothie love the fact that it was green, not too sweet and so refreshing. Wouldn’t mind having it on a daily basis. I finished all of that pretty quickly and since I didn’t want to just head back home, I had a second look at the menu and finally found another excuse to stay. Ordered the apple crumble and some coffee to get rid of the sleepiness that was about to hit me. Nothing out of the ordinary here, except the fact that the crumble, was clearly microwaved. Was initially disappointed, but somehow it didn’t ruin my experience. Staff was very nice and receptive, no issues there, and unlike most times when I go for a meal by myself, there were no awkward stares. I felt pretty comfortable and happy after the entire meal, and that’s why I was back 2 weeks later with a friend for more. Would happily visit over and over again."

"I have dipped over Christmas time into the coffee pan for coffee and cake and it was also very nice. it was really with loads of locals in good shape because of the upcoming celebrations. and I would naturally introduce myself because of the great food in the offer as I say, I have not a full meal, but the chocolate wing cake was to die and the latte was coffee perfection there are also many interesting looking cheese and wee for sale that I need to investigate further there was a couple of eating here before it was so close to me. the review of this trip will follow!"

"We reserved an early table at but didn’t realise it was afternoon tea! The reservation didn’t confirm this but I also did not check out the menu which was an option! The staff were extremely accommodating, they offered to make us a reservation at a restaurant nearby or wait until we decided to wait and they gave us a drink on the house and sat us in their gorgeous room by the fire, they took our order and as soon as the chefs came in they cooked our food and we were eating by couldn’t ask for anything else, the ambience in the room was perfect, the music was nice and the staff were great, our steak was cooked to perfection and we had a fabulous wedding anniversary, will definitely return"
