"I visited the Hilltop Café for a late afternoon meal, especially since many other places were closed. I was really pleased with my experience. I had a delicious cheeseburger served in a soft bun, complemented by pickles, tomatoes, and caramelized onions. My partner ordered the avocado smash, but without the bread, and instead with chips. They created a lovely salad for her, featuring sliced avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, and chips (though I prefer chunkier chips). The staff was incredibly helpful, and I even received a complimentary soft drink. The tea was a high-quality Earl Grey with milk, which I enjoyed. The tables were adorned with beautiful flowers, and the lovely sunshades created a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a tavern in Greece or the Mediterranean. Overall, it was a delightful experience!"

"Last Saturday night, on June 25th, 2022, I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I strongly advise against ordering from this establishment. My friend and I ordered takeout and both ended up extremely ill, spending the past 4 days and nights suffering from painful stomach cramps on the toilet. We are awaiting the results from doctors to confirm if it was indeed food poisoning. Order from this place at your own risk."

"After we have booked through the opentable app for 18.45 clock, we actually arrived at over 45 minutes early, but it was not a problem for the staff and we were sitting fast. the starters arrived soon after ordering and were very nice. for the net we had made the burgers and 2 of our party requested well, and the third was a regularly cooked burger, in contrast to some restaurants that cannot differentiate and cook as they were the burgers to this occasion were served exactly as we requested. we have shown on a NEC show, so it is regrettable that we are continuing from soihull."

"Used this Chinese for years. Unfortunately since it has changed to new management the prices have gone up but the quality has gone right down. Ordered tonight and ended up having to return some of it, the food i did eat was bland. Prawn crackers are terrible now with a weird after taste. Also was over charged but didnt realise until i checked the menu. Real shame as i used to love this Chinese."

"We weren't sure what to expect at Firejacks, but what we got was absolutely outstanding. The girlfriend and I managed to get a table during a very busy period on Saturday evening post a cinema screening, and were served by a very warm and friendly waitress who ensured we had a lovely dining experience. We had two great starters and main meals that appealed to both a BBQ and Spice lover and a slightly tamer palette, and having a huge selection of sauces available to compliment the meal was even better. The cocktails and beer selection were also great and rounded off a lovely Saturday evening out."

"Ordered 2 children's meal's which came a lot sooner than all the adult meals. We had already astablished that the chips were not cooked in fish oil beforehand It became apparent that 1 of the child's meal was fish instead of chicken...we told them of this,they did offer to change but the child declined as they'd nearly finished most of the other food on plate and they were embarrassed (it wasn't until her Mum asked that we discovered it was fish) I pointed out to waiter it could have been dangerous as you were already aware of the fish allergy in the party When the adult meals arrived we thought that we'd ordered children's meal in error given the size of them,not very hot to be fair considering how long we had waited but we didn't say anything(all same food) as we just couldn't be bothered with another complaint We had to tell the server twice what we were drinking on arrival and still one drink did not come as requested but couldn't be bothered to wait to have it changed I have to say they did take price of said child's meal off bill. We decided not to have desert and left still hungry and half the party are not even big eaters. Won't be returning No pictures as not worthy of pictures Dietary restrictions: Asked if chips were cooked in fish oil so obviously there was an allergy in the party but still a member of party was served fish instead of chicken. "I came to the breakfast yesterday and it was perhaps the best decision I made during my trip to Edinburgh. the owner (jonathan) was very nice and warm and welcomed me to the restaurant and gave me the drain on the Scottish breakfast. I had a little fear to try the haggis and black pudding, but everything was delicious! jonathan said they had the best heggis in the city and he didn't lie. the meal was warm and tasty and the perfect fuel for a long and cold day of remembrance, and more than that it gave me a taste of the Scottish hospitality! You have to come here at least once, but hopefully more, in your life!"
