"We went to FireJacks the other day before going to the cinema, As it happened we arrived earlier than the time the table was booked for, We went in&were greeted by a nice young lady who had a ready smile, said no problems then let us choose a table which was great. We sat down and checked out the drinks menu I had a delicous beer which had a goose on the pump handle, the beer was refreshing and tasty, we then went on to order our main courses which were both hot and delicous, I had the Shrimps which were lovely&fresh, we then went onto our mains which were also amazing, I had a firejacks grill which had chicken wings, shrimps, pork ribs,a redslaw& a side of chips which was delicous, they have a wide range of sauces to choose from to compliment your food. we then went onto have puddings which were fantastic. The only downside was my fiancee wanted some Thousand island or seafood sauce neither were available."

Great meal. Service friendly but a bit slow last night to get first drink ordered. And it was a little hot

Good steaks, well cooked and tailored just the way you want it. Not the cheapest but good value for the quality you get.Only minor criticism would be that service was a little slow at times

On arrival they said they hadn’t received our booking through open table. A shame, as it was a special birthday lunch. Found us a table with no problem and had a nice lunch but could have been very disappointing if they’d had no availability

Atmosphere was buzzy, food hot and quickly served so kitchen is cooking speculatively to have it ready in such a short time. Felt rushed to eat and leave as waiter was removing plates just as individuals finished their food while others still eating. Also , quite expensive for burger meals so not a regular revisit planned

We weren't sure what to expect at Firejacks, but what we got was absolutely outstanding. The girlfriend and I managed to get a table during a very busy period on Saturday evening post a cinema screening, and were served by a very warm and friendly waitress who ensured we had a lovely dining experience. We had two great starters and main meals that appealed to both a BBQ and Spice lover and a slightly tamer palette, and having a huge selection of sauces available to compliment the meal was even better. The cocktails and beer selection were also great and rounded off a lovely Saturday evening out

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
