"Chose this restaurant via Trip Advisor to take my brother for a birthday meal. Had a really enjoyable evening. The service was so friendly and relaxed, the choice of food excellent and the food perfect. They had a special on cocktails and brother had both as I had to drive home; he lives just a few 100 yes away; but my glass of wine was very pleasant. To make a very enjoyable evening even better out waitress bought him a special glass of fizz on a birthday platter . Lovely evening, five stars across the board, thank you."

"We have been to Gattuso many times and the food is always fantastic. I felt this time, though, that the service was a bit hit and miss. The staff are fantastic but the food was delivered at different times. My husband’s pizza came out first he had almost finished by the time my friend and I received our pasta and parmigiana. Then they brought out the limoncello cake and cannoli while I waited another 10 minutes for my chocolate fondant. I’d much prefer that the food all came out at the same time. It was, however, delicious as ever. I love that they’ve expanded the restaurant so the tables have been spread out and it doesn’t feel cramped. It has a lovely ambiance."

"Last night was my friend’s birthday and she was opening her gifts. This happened between 10-11pm. One of the lady staff suddenly told us off, like she was thinking maybe we were doing something wrong. We told her we were just opening gifts and to keep things light, we made a joke about the pub giving free shots because it’s our friend’s birthday, but the woman was unamused, telling us to buy her shots instead and walked away. We didn’t like her tone. We just let it pass, but that remark could’ve potentially ruin an otherwise happy night out with friends. Our group was so polite ordering drinks and saying thank you, why did she have to judge us so quickly and give us this attitude?"

"My wife, daughter 2 grandkids we're on a trip to London and rang to book after seeing the very favourable reviews. We wanted to book a table for 5 people at 7.30 but we asked to make it 7.15. No problem. we duly arrived at 7.15 but were told our table would not be ready for 10 mins. Again no real problem except it was in fact 20 minutes. Was a bit surprised that no apology was forthcoming but surely they would ensure we were looked after. We were given menus and asked if we wanted water and we said yes tap water would be fine. Two bottles of mineral water were provided but again no real problem. But that was the last we saw of anyone for a further 15 minutes when I managed to get the attention of the waiter to take our order. We ordered a bottle of wine and some soft drinks but said we'd like to order the food now as well. We got as far as the starter but we told that the items we chose used pizza base and they had none. Does that also mean that you have no pizzas? I asked. No sorry was the reply. Since pizza was explicitly what the kids wanted and we had been there some considerable time, were not told when we were given the menus that there was no pizza based items and that we were not made to feel welcome, we left feely very disappointed and hungry."

"This review is slightly old.. I had dicorved this plase close by to my house in St Johns, they had recently opened up and is a quaint family run joint.. I decided to give it a go on a monday evening for a late lunch early dinner with a friend... I was craving some good italian food.. nothing special with out burning a hole in my pocket... it deivered to the T really good service... We had a cheese pizza and a lasagne bolognese with a glass of wine each.. cost 15 quid per person which was not bad at all... the food was decent but nothing to rave about... expectations were met and we left as happy foodies"

"that is a great little place that is greatly underestimated as an Italian restaurant. service is good, not fantastic, do not expect the flaky, chat and enthusiasm that Italian waiters normally bring, these young are not Italian, but very polite and engaged. but don't come to chat here, they come here for the food. they have all classics, beautifully presented with good to large portions and very hot....a condition many restaurants seem to be missing, these days, all too reasonable trips for the location. total large space for large groups and families. as part of the thames hotel, you can visit the bar before, via the room, for views of the river and occasionally live music."

"Visited this place yesterday. An excellent Italian restaurant. I enjoyed the beef steak a lot. It's one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Commendation to the chef for preparing the dish. "The 4 of us cleared our plates main courses we had were Spaghetti Carbonara creamy; Tagliatelle al Pollo with a side of spinach which was sauteed garlic which I emptied onto my main dish heavenly; Tagliatelle de Mare my friend found the shellfish pasta very tasty and the Pizza 4 Formaggi we all tried some and enjoyed the thin base cheese combo. We shared Desserts were Tiramisu and Chocolate Fondant which were both delicious. Washed down with beer and house White Wine. It is not a large venue, had ambiance and was almost full with our waiter being kept busy and doing a great job! Toilet downstairs was spotless."

"We love Ring o’ Bells. The food choices are excellent and although I’m veggie, sometimes vegan, I’m always spoiled for choice! Last night we had the fantastic pizza off of 2for1. I had the spinaco which was a great choice, tho for me, I would have liked a bit more spinach! The pizza was cooked to perfection. My partner had the Quatro formaggio (his favourite) and he said it was the best yet!! Service was excellent with food and drinks- lovely house red wine at the correct temperature. A family with children sat by us and though some may have thought they were a little lively at 8pm, we enjoyed their joyful interactions. Thank you once again to the Ring o’ Bells team"
