"Three of us arrived at 1850 without booking. The restaurant was full but we were made welcome on the basis that we would just have a main course and leave by 2000. Just what we wanted and their positive approach meant that they sold three...more covers. The restaurant is on the first floor with good views across Portsmouth harbour. Service was good and attentive, the food hot and well cooked and the prices reasonable. I was particularly glad to see that all the staff were continuing to wear masks. Not a “memorable or outstanding “ meal, so 4 stars not 5, but we would return again. Recommended."

"I held an event in Earls Cone for 10 professionals. I pre ordered food the day before and collected it at 6pm on the day of the event. The food was delicious, service was prompt and food was plentiful. I am so happy with the service, quality of food I have placed orders for all future events when I am in the area. "This was our first visit to the New Inn after recently moving to the area. We visited on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy but we were quickly shown to our table and given the menus. The service throughout the evening was excellent. We had the set meal for 4. All the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Desserts and coffee were included. The bill, including drinks was around £130. I would certainly recommend the New Inn and we will be back before too long."

"I want to start by saying the food here is good, but what has left a bad taste in my mouth is the slyness of the staff! I brought my family here for a meal and we were a bit tuned to say the least. The staff at this moment thought they could take advantage of this and added extra meal and drinks to our menu. If it weren't for my father who is on the ball we would of been mugged blind. Not cool Thai Paragon. I know who you are and what you are now."

"We called in here late on a Saturday evening before returning home. We fancied Chinese so headed to Chinatown and chose this place partly because the menu looked a bit more interesting and partly because it had Chinese people eating it rather than tourists which is usually a good sign. There seemed to be an awful lot of staff for the number of customers and they were reasonably attentive. The decor is VERY basic and reminded me a little of school canteens. Boxes were piled everywhere and everything by way of kitchen tools and accessories seemed to be on display. To be fair the food was very good indeed. Freshly cooked and huge portions, without a hefty price tag. For vegans there are plenty of veggie options too. The service however, was just a bit weird. Staff were just a bit too casual. The food was brought out on a piece meal basis so some of our party had to start without others to prevent food going cold. When we asked for some leftover rice to be boxed up, we were given the box and expected to do it ourselves. It was okay. Just a bit odd. BUT... I would go there again for the food alone. I suspect if you got to know some of the staff they would look after you a bit better. It should be the other way round really."

"absolutely fantastic! a bit skeptical order here because my family used to order Chinese farewell to other Chinese restaurant, but yesterday they let me do the task of ordering how we guests come to read good reviews from this restaurant, I thought I would go it, I am asian and I am restless about Asian food. I called, the other one was really nice. retrieved eating, and was greeted with a beautiful welcoming atmosphere, restaurant was nice and packed! went home, had dinner and all agreed that it was much better than what we had in other Chinese takeaways. I don't normally leave any comments, but I thought that's my way to thank trongs for giving me the closest best Asian food I could approach. everything was simply divine, fruitful, priced and service-wise. plan to celebrate our special occasion in this restaurant. will definitely be our Chinese departure from now on. highly recommended!"

"We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant with excellent service from the attentive and friendly staff. The food was perfectly cooked and the bread was absolutely amazing. Although they were out of some items on the menu, they were very helpful in recommending alternative options that were just as good. The garden was bustling on a sunny and warm evening. We enjoyed the mezzo, particularly the olive and sun-dried tomato stuffed bread. The pork T-bone was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the burger was delicious. There were plenty of options on the menu, so be sure to give it a try. I would definitely come back to buy that bread!"

"wow, wow! many thanks to all involved for the production of our 20th 'china' high time jubiläum so special! 79 guests were much to offer, but they did it to perfection, eating was great, and everyone had a brilliant evening! sure to remember a night, thank you!"

"The peking duck was excellent almost matching what I would have in Beijing. Daily soup was fantastic although feeling that it's not worth the price paid (their restaurant next door serves the daily soup at half the price per head and it's just as good). Vegetable was a standard affair, with the tofu a bit of a twist from the normal version they serve next door."

"Surroundings and location of The Burley Hotel is gorgeous. On a beautiful day there is a great patio area. Had our temperature taken on arrival which was really a good idea. Our pot of tea arrived quite quickly. Then followed later with the tea. Would have liked it all together. The tea was very nice indeed. A bit different from the usual it had a Mediterranean twist to it which was lovely. All beautifully presented. We really enjoyed it. Would have thought for the price a glass of prosecco could have been included as have had many teas out for less money which have included a glass. However it's a really lovely place so taking that into consideration"

"Went to Mings for our anniversary and was greeted by a waiter wearing a hoodie and a wooly hat.... I kid you not!!.......we were then dumped on a isolated table upstairs and forgotten..............after 25 minutes I went to bar and ordered a bottle of wine.....when the waiter asked what table we were at...I replied. the one you forgot about ...... the meal was ok but the battered asparagus had no tips just stems..... some Chinese background music would have been nice.... soft jazz didn't seem right.... all in all a bit disappointing!"

"I absolutely adore this restaurant! The food is amazing, the restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and the staff are friendly and polite. I recently spent over 4 weeks in the hospital and am now homebound and bedridden, so a friend kindly picks up takeout for me since I live outside the delivery area. Last Thursday evening, I enjoyed tofu with mixed vegetables, asparagus with cashew nuts, mixed vegetable fried rice with egg, and chips with satay sauce. My friend opted for mushroom fried rice, while sneakily stealing some of my asparagus! We typically also order edamame and vegetable spring rolls for me, and chicken in black bean sauce and hot and sour soup for my friend. Tonight's meal will consist of tofu and mixed vegetables, vegetable gyoza, satay sauce, egg fried rice, and a side of chips. I cannot express how much I love the food here! While it may not be the most affordable takeout option, I am more than willing to pay higher prices for exceptional quality and flavor. As a vegetarian for 45 years, I have struggled to find good vegetarian options in traditional restaurants, but New Regent has been a lifesaver for me and my carnivorous friends. The service is top-notch, and the average price per person for dinner falls between £20-30."

"**Meal Type:** Lunch **Price per Person:** £10-£20 During my recent visit for lunch, I had an enjoyable dining experience with a variety of delicious dishes. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Katsu Curry and the Soba noodles; both were flavorful and satisfying. The Bang Bang Cauliflower was a delightful surprise, and the Duck was equally impressive. For a lighter option, the Edamame was a great choice. If you’re a vegetarian, you’re in luck! The restaurant offers a dedicated vegetarian menu or section, making it easy to find tasty options. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal!"

"Start with the negative, it was the first date night in over a year for the wife and I and as we regularly have cinnamon tree as a takeaway but never actually eaten at the restaurant, we decided cinnamon tree was the restaurant of choice for the evening. We are relatively new to the area and was a little surprised to see that the building looked run down and the sign only spelling out cinnamon r on the side. However, stepping inside took the dread away. The decor is minimal but stylish and inviting. Now we arrived when the restaurant had only just opened with a last minute booking, when we arrived there was only 2 people in the entire restaurant so we was astonished that the waiters decided to seat us right next to the pair of girls. Personally if I can see that a couple are coming for a meal I would seat them in a more private area unless there was no option, however there was plenty of option as the restaurant was empty. The next downside was the drinks, the wife had a bacardi and coke and I, a pint of Cobra. The beer was almost ambient temperature and the wife's bacardi tasted slightly off as in the coke was flat and bacardi tasted like it had been sat there a while. Anyway, looking past these issues we felt uneasy as we could hear the girls conversation and felt we could not relax and have our own conversation as they would obviously hear ours. Not a date night feel at all. The food was amazing though, thoroughly enjoyed it, I ate until I was in agony and couldn't fit any more in, I was determined to complete everything even my wife's portion as she felt too uncomfortable to eat having practically been sat on the same table as the only other people in the restaurant. We will return for a date night and ask to be seated in a more private location if the restaurant is quieter, the food is delicious and excellent value for money. We will also continue to get takeaways from this establishment as it is our favourite Indian restaurant in our area by far. Definitely recommend a visit here, but ask for a more private table if you are on date night!"

""I encountered the smallest portion of spare ribs I've ever seen. The chicken ginger dish was rather bland and lacked any significant ginger flavor. The Thai green curry was decent, but the chicken had a rubbery texture. Unfortunately, this wasn't the best takeaway we've experienced. On a positive note, the young man who served us was very pleasant and polite. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20.""

"The Chinese food here is just average at best, and they really need to rethink their pricing. They charge £68 for a duck and pancakes in a small village, which is quite outrageous. Even takeout and restaurants in larger cities don't charge that much for the same dish. We opted for half a duck, which was still a steep £35, and although it was decent, it came with insufficient pancakes and accompaniments. Save your money; there are plenty of better Chinese restaurants in the Holme Valley."

"Been going here for 13 years and it has generally been fairly good but in the past 3 years or so the standards have slipped significantly. In particular we ordered salt and pepper king prawns which were completely inedible pre cooked prawns re heated and dry and way over salty. Have given them the benefit of the doubt too many times now. Great shame that they don’t seem to care any more."

"So there ya go, I came across this wonderful Pret within Manchester's gleaming, clean and tidy airport soon after a review of rip off Starbucks at Belfast's scruffy, poorly maintained, Belfast International Airport; imagine this dump is our offer of an international airport. The differences between these places is stark, Prets food is fresh made daily and very good indeed, their coffee is ace, the staff were friendly and helpful, the place was clean and it was tidied twice in the 40 minutes we were there. Social distancing was properly observed and contact details were politely requested as we were sitting in. Best of all for customers we weren't ripped off. Once Pret sets up in Norn Iron Starbucks are likely to lose my loyalty. For £13.98 total I had a crayfish avocado salad with a super flat white. They provide little sachets of blooming marvellous Tabasco sauce; my wife indulged in a cappuccino with a generously filled French style baguette with unsmoked bacon, egg, onion and salad. The bacon had much more bacon than bacon fat. The baguette was crispy and about 10 long. Pret food is handmade in their shop kitchens throughout the day and anything they don't sell, goes to charity. Their coffee is 100% organic and they have a Coffee Fund to support the next generation of farmers. Their teas, milks and milk alternatives are also organic. They have produced their first Environment, Social and Governance report that sits on their website. They say that they are committed to publishing future reports to track sustainability progress over the years to come. They have had a zero landfill policy for all their managed UK shops since 2012 and customers have been able to recycle bottles and cans in shops since 2007. So while I can't find if their organic coffee is shade grown and bird friendly and bird friendly is best it's still 3 green stars. The Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center in the USA has developed the only 100% Organic and Shade Grown coffee certification in the world called Bird Friendly Certification with the noble aim that every bean is produced organically and under high-quality shade, ensuring tropical agroforests are preserved and migratory birds find a healthy haven when they travel from northern climes to those faraway farms producing the beans who can't support them? With widespread clear cutting for sun coffee plantations, it's imperative to protect the tropical forest that remains and rehabilitate degraded ecosystems for our kids and grandkids. It's also hard to find if they pay staff living wages so maybe they do and they'll report on this soon or maybe they don't and will rationalise why not."

"We were holidaying nearby, and it's become something of a family tradition to try out a local Thai for some takeaway food. This place seemed to have good reviews and it didn't disappoint. All the food was tasty and good quality. Four stars not five purely because we've had a lot of Thai food over the years and five stars is reserved for very few places at the very top of their game but absolutely no criticisms of this place. Would happily recommend and/or visit again."

"The Needham Mob took lunch here during the week and first impressions were not good. Distinct lack of staff and many people at tables clearly waiting for food. One has to to order own drinks and collect from the bar and after 40 minutes no menus received we had to go to the bar to ask and wait another 10 minutes for them to arrive. To order more drinks again up to the bar and often no one was behind the bar serving. Had to ask for orders to be taken. A couple on an adjacent table had clearly had the same experience and walked out. We persevered. Eventually orders were taken and it was along wait for starters to arrive. Another long wait for mains. The food was good although one member of the party had the fish cakes and commented they were tasteless. Had to ask and wait for the bill and then again to the bar to pay. It was not an enjoyable lunch time and as this review is titled seemed just one level up from self service. Suggest the establishment employs more staff as they clearly lost custom on the day by people walking out."
