"I had a great experience at this quiet and friendly restaurant with excellent food. It was a perfect location for a reunion with my university friends on a Saturday. The staff were very nice and accommodating, even checking if the chicken was free range (unfortunately, it was not). The fish and new potatoes were delicious, and my friend enjoyed the linguine. The dessert selection was impressive, and we tried the crumble and chocolate mousse, which were both delicious. The prices were reasonable, and although the address was a bit tricky to find in an alleyway, it was definitely worth the search. I will definitely be returning."

"Really enjoyed our first night in the area, finding this adorable pub around the corner from our hotel. Our servers Billy and Hugo were fun, funny, made great recommendations and a birthday celebration a night to remember. "We have been coming to the old firehouse for over years. Usually have a great experience but not quite the same this time, with one member of staff [male, long hair beyond shoulder length] in particular taking profanities and other poor customer relation traits...to a level I’d not witnessed before. In the space of five minutes I witnessed a couple and two gentlemen receive abuse for standing near the bar hatch in his way when collecting glasses (clearly, they weren’t doing it on purpose). “Get out of the Fu way”, “are you fu stupid” were the first comments that attracted the spotlight. Then when a gentleman tried to apologise for causing an obstruction his response consisted of “don’t apologise, just get out of my fu way”. The nice lady in charge behind the bar did appear to have a word with him but it looked like it wasn’t the first time she’d had to deal with such complaints and appeared to make her very uncomfortable (understandable given how volatile he seemed). Appreciating that customers probably make this mistake frequently, the response was completely disproportionate and offensive and certainly undeserved. Like I’ve said, we normally have a great time in there but this experience is not something I’m keen to repeat any time soon. I really hope this kind of behaviour isn’t tolerated further. To the rest of the staff, I’m truly sorry I’ve had to award three stars as it would have been five. Pizzas and live music are still fantastic."

"This is a nice Mediterranean café with decent food, but don’t expect anything too exciting. Prices are a bit high, but it's reasonable for a local spot in the center of the village. They offer good juice, coffee, and brunch options, though they face tough competition from trendier places nearby. The standout dish we tried was the chicken salad on bogur (as shown in the picture with carrot juice). While the long-time employees may come off as a bit grumpy, they are usually quite pleasant."

"My partner and I hired The Prince of Wales for my 40th birthday. We hired the dinning area downstairs which is perfect to buy drinks at the bar, toilets nearby and exit door for the smokers. We had set menu buffet and added some extras which I would recommend. My guests enjoyed the food with favourite being mini burgers. The staff were lovely and always around for when we needed. The pub has a lovely ambience perfect for different events at a reasonable price. My guests and I had a lovely time, would definitely recommend."

"We were expecting very good food and service after seeing so many nice reviews. The meal was disappointing. Starters not seasoned enough (we had the aubergine and prawn cocktails which was a bit better). The mains definitely shouldn't cost that much. Lamb was nearly £30 and portion was like for a kid. Nothing special. At that price we were expecting a wow. The beef was definitely better but still very small portion and dry inside. The only good thing was the sauce, which again didn't save the whole meal. Paid £3 for a coke and it was not even half a pint. Service was average. Nice but sometimes they came to the table twice just to serve one item. Overall, would definitely not recommend. Too expensive for the quality and quantity. Also, the menu on their Google was the old one, where the lamb was £15 (which it should be). So be careful, go to their website to see the updated menu where a lot of dishes are not there anymore and all of them almost double. "I booked the restaurant last week for Saturday evening after reading all the good reviews. It was for my partner’s birthday as it’s our favourite food. We got a taxi from our hotel which cost £15 only to get there to the restaurant being in darkness. We received no message to state the restaurant was shut. We then had to walk into the centre and lucky found another restaurant called Sobano which was beautiful. Turned out well in the end"
