"I had a great experience at this quiet and friendly restaurant with excellent food. It was a perfect location for a reunion with my university friends on a Saturday. The staff were very nice and accommodating, even checking if the chicken was free range (unfortunately, it was not). The fish and new potatoes were delicious, and my friend enjoyed the linguine. The dessert selection was impressive, and we tried the crumble and chocolate mousse, which were both delicious. The prices were reasonable, and although the address was a bit tricky to find in an alleyway, it was definitely worth the search. I will definitely be returning."

I wasn't expecting much and I didn't get much. The restaurant is decent with a changing menu, making it a good option for a local spot to dine at without going out of your way.

I had a lovely dinner after watching the Christmas lights switch-on in Sheppards Market. The French onion soup was absolutely delicious and the coq-au-vin was scrumptious. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, the staff is great, and the food is excellent.

Tucked away in Shepherd's Market, a pleasant atmosphere, and welcoming staff made for a good lunch. We only had steak mains, but the steaks were perfectly presented, sauces were on point, and sides well-prepared and presented. Overall, a good value and entirely pleasant experience. We will be back. A Christmas business lunch was very well received by all. The food, service and ambience was extremely good and very relaxed, so no rushing people through their meal and trying to fill the seats again! It is a lovely setting, quite tight on space, but somehow that helps the ambience. We'd definitely eat there again.

I found the restaurant on the internet. It was smaller than I imagined. I was meeting a friend not seen for 24 years from Switzerland. It was important to have time to talk and take the meal slowly. We were able to this and never felt rushed. It was a very pleasant atmosphere. A great selection on the menu and board. The food was tasty and wine very good.

The Market Brasserie in Shepherd Market is a cosy dining location. The menu is modest but the blackboard specials were very good. We chose starters with variations of goats' cheese, followed by excellent ribeye steaks, cooked to perfection. Our choice of Carignan-Merlot was delightful and this Vin de Pays d'Oc was the least expensive on the wine list. Charming, helpful staff too. View menu

I enjoyed my first trip to the Market Brasserie. The restaurant was quiet (early Tuesday evening). Service was good. The menu is typically 'bistro ' with plenty of choice for most tastes. I opted for the duck breast from the specials menu. It was perhaps a little overcooked for my taste, but perfectly acceptable. However I really enjoyed my apple and blackberry crumble dessert. The fruit tasted a little like mulled wine: I suspect that it had added cinnamon. I will eat there again.

We were delighted to discover that our table had been reserved for us for the whole evening and we were able to turn up an hour earlier than planned and our table was available. This defines the excellent personal service from the friendly and competent staff. We were not kept waiting for our food nor did we feel rushed in any way. The food was served fresh and hot and was thoroughly enjoyable. We were so delighted that we returned 2 days later and had another excellent meal. Often, returning to a place where you have had a great meal can be a disappointing experience but not on this occasion. We had a second excellent meal.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
