"First time here, Morgan was our server, very friendly and attentive, she helped me decide on the goat curry as my choice, my partner had mo'bay chicken, both meals were lovely. The Mac and cheese we shared wasn't amazing. There was a very loud group in that ruined the atmosphere. We'll be back to try other options on the menu. Overall we enjoyed the meal, thanks Morgan!"

"our oldest daughter had eaten here before and enjoyed eating. modern european with a Caribbean swirl is a good overall description of the menu and the aromen and ingredients of the dishes I ordered, certainly boring. the salt fish and akee starters were light, tender and pretty with a good amount of taste. followed the spicy bark with garlic and broccoli strands. there was in my view exactly the right amount of heat that tasted the palette antique and the flesh in the mouth in a wonderful sauce. the maische was well made, but I would personally welcome more garlic and the broccoli was cooked directly with a small amount of bite. a large selection of dressed, my wife enjoyed the same main before the suppe of the day, flower cauliflower and kumin, that was silky smooth and lightly seasoned and my daughter did not lack for food, though vegan. after their appetizer the curtain followed a herbal curry with the same garlic mash instead of the rice. both set menus that are good for 2/3 dishes, and al a carter are available along with a good selection of wines and cocktails. I loved the ambiente, comfortable chairs, reasonable but inconspicuous music and attentive staff. we will come back when we visit margate."

"What a delightful surprise! I visited this restaurant for the first time based on a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint. The family-friendly atmosphere, authentic dishes, and modern decor were all top-notch. The beautiful photos of India made me want to plan a trip there! The diverse menu showcased a genuine passion for real Indian cuisine, and I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. As a longtime fan of Indian food and a resident of Birmingham for 9 years, I have never experienced such a refreshing take on starters, mains, and desserts (including a traditional mouth freshener)."

"I can't recommend this place enough! my friend and I have watched a matinee performance at hippodrome. when it was Saturday, happy hour and super busy the service was absolutely brilliant. beautiful lady who shows us on the table. Nice that all bar staff make their famous cocktails as soon as they enter, the mood is fantastic. we had a young lady who served us, who was attentive and always ensured that our meal was in order and we were attracted to our drinks. food was from this world! I am back, yes definitiw."

"Our First time here and will be our last, very disappointed. We came for lunch met up with my son who is on his lunch break. The service was very slow, like it name “turtle” there was only one waiter and one bar staff. So it was understandable. But it wasn’t busy when we sat down we was 4th table in the restaurant. We waited over an hour and our main haven’t arrived. I mention to the waiter 10 before my son lunch break is over that my son is in a hurry to return to work. After ten minutes later still not arrived. In the end my son had no lunch had to leave. Our food came but was not worth waiting for my Jerk chicken was burnt on the outside and it tasted burnt on the meat. I couldn’t eat it. My husband salmon was cold. The coconut rice have no coconut flavor and it was cold. The table was sticky. So I wouldn’t recommend poor food, slow service, and if you are in an hurry definitely no no."

"I have eaten at The Vine on and off over many years but this is the first time I found one particular staff member rude and the food I ordered to be spicy. Drink- I prefer to drink pepsi max and as I saw there were can in the fridge I thought I would have one instead of having pepsi or diet pepsi on draught. I was told that I was not allowed to have a can of pepsi max as they were for when the pump were broken, not allowed to sell them( let stock go to waste?? The person then walked away and spoke to some one around the corner them came back to me. I thought that she would give me the can of pepsi max but No- she opened it up and poured it into a pint glass and said £3.80 i given you a can and a half then said I did explain I was not going to spoil lunch out with work colleagues by replying back to this young lady- i paid, said thank you and sat down. I returned to the bar to order my food of chicken tikka and a portion of chips £8.25- unfortunately the chicken tikka was spicy which is not how I like it. It was nice to have lunch with work colleagues the Black Country and the wider West Midlands is a wash with Indian mix grill pubs."

"I paid $60 for biriyani which was good, a fish main dish that was a bit watery, rice, and $6 for 2 prawns. The portions were not very big and nothing special for the price. For better value, I recommend trying Indigo or Desi instead. I was expecting something exceptional for the price but was disappointed. I could have spent half the amount and had a more enjoyable meal elsewhere. If you're looking for something special, I suggest going somewhere else. I meant to say pounds, not dollars. I ordered on May 25th. It is true that you don't offer a prawn dish for 6 pounds, as I paid 12 pounds for lahshuni prawns and only received 2 overcooked prawns. I can provide a screenshot of my receipt if needed. I was unimpressed when I was expecting to be impressed by your food. The quality is on par with a mid-level takeaway. Desi in Hyson Green, just 5 minutes down the road, and Indigo in Mapperly offer better value and quality spices."

"First time trying Caribbean food and it was SO good!!! We got the boneless and the half jerk chicken with the spicy sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Perfect level of heat and so flavoursome. The dishes were very big!! Good value for money. The corn ribs were so good we wanted to eat a hundred more lol and the cheese empanada was the same. Highly recommend!"

"we were greeted by alexander who said he was new, but could very well deal with all the asspects of the service. he was polite, friendly and efficient. that was delicious, we both had the Brazilian coconut chicken curry. the chef kindly gave us an salat instead of rice and the helpers were generous and hot! timing very good ambiance- well we asked for a calmer against and got that. the atmosphere was beautiful. we're coming back!"

"went to bournemouth for a birthday and that was the first stop of the night. the club itself was great. the music was better than the one that went on at night. I warn, my night almost didn't begin when I wore trainers. the bouncer stopped me from going in, but after standing in the cold for 5 minutes and trying to keep my friends, he later changed his mind when he didn't want to break the party, which is a guy. bring them smart shoes men."

"Really well cooked, quality food. The staff were really tentative and friendly. Air conditioning available also which was great, and much needed. Due to to there being a large group in it was rather noisy, the restaurant is very open plan so the noise carries around the restaurant unfortunately. But we had a great time regardless. Only thing that let the place down a little, was that the toilets weren’t as nice as everywhere else. But that seems minor compared to the whole experience. I’d definitely visit again."

"While on a long road trip across the country, I needed some fuel and stumbled upon this restaurant. The Jamaican curry goat, served with tasty rice, soft roti, and fried plantains on the side, was exactly what I needed. All of this, plus a drink, only cost me about £21. The curry goat was packed with flavor, the meat was tender, and the sauce was delightful. The plantains were also fantastic and you get a generous portion. Overall, the food, ambiance, and price were all top-notch. I would definitely recommend this place."

"Called in for a drink a couple of months ago and was initially impressed- well kept beer, nice atmosphere, super-friendly landlord. On the basis of this, we returned for food, which seemed to be in the hands of the landlady/cook, rather than the landlord we'd previously met. What a contrast- whereas he's the perfect host, she appeared to be grumpy to the point of rudeness- more suited to running a back street takeaway than a country pub. We overlooked this hoping for good food, but the extensive menu was a giveaway that although this may have been home cooked at some point, most items were just reheated on demand. Very average considering what so many pubs are offering. Looking at the other customers, it feels like the Wooden Spoon relies on unadventurous OAPs wanting comfort food for its business- more nursing home than country pub."

"We ate on a Friday night, with a group of friends. of our party were minutes late, but the staff were excellent about it. We had the tasting menu, which was wide and varied. Not every course was a hit with everyone, but nobody was disappointed. Fantastic cheese board and a chocolate truffle was the perfect finish. The staff didnt rush us out, and we actually stayed for a nightcap rather than going on somewhere else. Was exactly what we were looking for"

"I am so glad I finally managed to visit the Green Yard. I am normally in Bridport too early to come here (they open at 9am) but today I was a bit later. After this experience I am wishing I had stayed in bed a bit longer before all my other trips to Bridport! It is slightly off the beaten track, tucked up a side road from the main street but worth hunting down you will not be disapointed. I had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and a 'cup ' of tea. You might think scrambled eggs are easy enough to do but so many places overcook them. Not here though; they were beautifully cooked, fresh and hot, slightly soft and a good sized portion too. The portion of bacon was equally generous. As for the 'cup ' of tea, I was presented with a huge teapot complete with at least 3 tea bags. Compare that to the tiny pots or cups you get in most places. The bill was more than reasonable, the staff, especially the owner, are friendly and efficient. I really cannot fault this place. It will be my go to place in Bridport from now on."

"My experience at the recently renovated Clayton's was fantastic. We enjoyed a quick drink along with olives, homemade hummus, and warm delicious bread. The waitresses were extremely attentive and even gave us a complimentary glass of Prosecco for my friend's birthday. Clayton's used to be my local wine bar, but it had lost its charm over the years. However, it seems like they have won me and my friends back with their impressive service. We will definitely be returning soon."

"What a great find! Lovely and welcoming and the Caribbean food was delicious. My husband and I both had the mutton curry with plantain. The meat was so tender and the spices were blended really well to make this a really tasty meal. We had cocktails too which were very nice. Dominic who served was very attentive and Mario the Chef came out to see us later on in the evening. After our meal Dominic played guitar and we all joined in the singing. Great atmosphere. I hope we manage to go back again soon in the not too distant future."
