"everything I can say is wow. I had so many great culinary experiences in edinburgh, but this one has to repel them all. there were 11 of us overall, so we have booked quite far in advance because it is a small restaurant. we went on a Friday night and it's byob, that was great for us, but maybe not all around us! the service was very relaxed, but friendly, and our waitress was very harmonious about what she liked on the menu, which I enjoyed very much. one of my friends had been before, so I took my lead from her at the order and the waitress said quickly that this was her favorite, so I was very excited! we shared the garnels with garlic and ingwer to begin, which were extremely tasty, but my main was definitiw the highlight. I chose the cocos, coriander and mandelfish fillet that came with carrots and crushed kartoffels. I ate the whole and enjoyed every last bit it was fantastic! Surprisingly, even better than the food was the atmosphere. After we had eaten a gitarist, we all came together, who quickly led to people in the restaurant who stand up to sing. I don't think I ever had so much fun in a restaurant and it's especially rare to find a place with such a welcoming atmosphere and so amazing eating. the whole evening was brilliant, I felt like a one in someone's house in the Caribbean drink wine, eating good food and a fantastic time with friends! I can't wait to go back to riverlife!"

I was able to choose what music was played (All my mums favourite songs! and had time to set up a monitor with a slide show of photos of my mum. It was a really lovely day, with lovely staff, great drinks, wonderful food, and to top it off perfect weather. "I love the look of this cozy rammen shop, which is why I entered spontaneously! but note that there are more rooms on the top floor! / I went for her most favorable option that the 3 garlic rays and I loved it! it was so different when I could come home. I thought, however, it could be more suppe and noodles a bit harder. but foresee that they must love garlic. / also the karaage huhn tried and was very crispy! not bad. drink options were also plentiful and interesting. Service was friendly but easy on the slower side. "

"I ordered from this restaurant for the first time after seeing its rave reviews, but unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The roti was thick and doughy, and it seemed undercooked, while the chicken had a texture that reminded me of genetically modified meat. For service, I opted for takeout. I spent around ÂŁ20-30 per person. Overall, I would rate the food a 1 and the service a 2."

"I called for lunch and was pleased that there were some good vegan options, including suppe, interesting looking sandwiches and hot pornstar (also kuchen.) I went for a Caribbean art curry and rice that was very delicious. service was friendly and it looks like there is also a nice evening atmosphere with jazz on a Thursday night. about 15 minutes walk from the most common college. would definitely go back."

"For the price they charge quantity was so little. Attached pic is of Paneer Shashlik, 4 very thin sliced cubes with two tiny pieces of yellow pepper, 2 tiny pieces of red pepper and and 2 and a half onion rings for ÂŁ5.99. Waste of money. Ordered chicken and chips from kids menu as well and there were 5 tiny cubes of chicken with a few chips. Had to cook dinner again as everyone was still hungry after having these tiny portions. Disappointed!! Service: Delivery"

"Your restaurant came highly recommended and the food and wine was absolutely superb. Unfortunately this is where the great experience ended as we have never been made to feel so uncomfortable in a restaurant by the people serving us, to the point that we couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave! We were the first table in the evening at 5pm and were seated right by the bar but we struggled to get eye contact with the staff who were either chatting behind the bar or staring into space. At no point did they ask us if everything was ok or if we wanted another drink. We tried to engage them in some chatter when they served us but to no avail. I don't know if in someway we offended them but we really could not work out what we had done wrong to be treated this way. Unfortunately we will not be returning, which is a shame as the food is excellent. Fortunately our evening was not completely spoiled as a visit to the local community centre in Nairn found us invited to a Ceilidh and a very warm welcome and fun evening."

"After reading the reviews online my partner decided to bring me here to celebrate my new job. First impressions were bad, it’s extremely deceptive compared to how it’s pictured on the website, it’s very dark and gloomy, there was no obvious sign outside, especially as we came in the dark so we drove past it twice. The sign outside could do with some light decor. Prior to coming to Mango Room my partner called to book the table and informed them of my new job celebration and had asked the waitress if she could make the table look somewhat fancy/different to the other tables as a surprise for me in which she agreed to doing. When we arrived he asked her where the table was and she said “pick whatever table you want” meaning she completely disregarded his request. After receiving the menu that was broken and looked extremely cheap and flimsy for the prices they charge, I also realised the food was very overpriced. I asked the waitress for the set menu and she said that only gets provided for groups of people over 10. It didn’t state that on the website and can be misconstrued as false advertisement. I can not believe for one small portioned size jerk chicken it cost £13 alone you then have to pay extra for a side which is around 3.50 4.00. When reluctantly ordering the food which was Jerk chicken rice peas, we also requested coleslaw and dumplings, the waitress replied “we don’t do coleslaw or dumplings here, the owner doesn’t like it” ... it’s not about what the owner doesn’t like it’s about your food audience. How can you run a Caribbean restaurant without coleslaw or dumplings? It’s key in West Indian food. I found that to be very obscured. The waitress then said “it’s fine dining, we don’t do that here”... I did not know consuming dumplings and coleslaw meant it was not fine dining. Whilst waiting for my food, I asked for some water the waitress brought out a jug of water which seemed to have a booger stain on the side, very very off putting. When the food eventually came out in which waiting time wasn’t long because the restaurant wasn’t busy, the plates were extremely hot, it seemed as though the chef just reheated/microwaved the rice and peas causing the dish within itself to be piping hot to the point where I couldn’t even hold it and had to messily dish out the rice myself with the small spoon provided. The rice and peas were extremely overcooked and stodgy, there was hardly any gravy with the jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was undercooked, had no flavour whatsoever and did not fall of the bone with basic sweet pepper slice and red onions for decoration. The plantain was extremely undercooked, very burnt on the outside and tasted wet, clumpy and soggy on the inside I’ve never tasted plantain so renk. The waitress did give us complimentary tulip glasses of champagne, which was nice. My partner did say that he enjoyed his curry goat which was very tender, he had that with plain rice. Overall I feel this restaurant is extremely overrated, extortionate and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. The only pros were the company I had and leaving. I would’ve much preferred going turtle bay, the atmosphere and decor is so much better and you get your monies worth. Turtle Bay is extremely commercial so this is a huge compliment to them as I’m not too fond of them either."

"I was taken out in the evening to the King's Head in Old Town for my birthday. I previously had lunch there out the front in the bar for lovely fish and chips, and the fish came in a frying basket, which was a nice touch. For the meal in the evening this time the pan fried chicken in mustard sauce was the best meal I had for ages. We had the three course meal. I started with French onion soup which was also delicious. When we walked in there was Euro championship football on most screens in the modern looking bar, so I thought we would have to listen to that for the evening meal, but they took us to the more quiet room out the back which was nice. I didn't really understand how the menu worked as it said a set price for three courses if you choose from one side, then other side of menu had another price, but waitress didn't mind explaining it again. Portions were generous. I still think back to the meal now. I would say it was an ideal mix of comfort home cooking, but made by excellent chefs."

"The breakfast was enjoyable and cooked well. The staff were friendly, and the service was reasonably timely. However, it felt quite pricey. We ordered a large and a medium breakfast along with two cans of Coke. When you order a can, which is displayed on the counter and seems to be around ÂŁ1, you actually end up being charged ÂŁ2.40 for a glass instead. When paying by card, you're prompted to leave a tip with four options, starting at 10%. My daughter, being too polite, selected the 10% tip when they mentioned there would be a question before entering your PIN. In the end, the total came to over ÂŁ26 for two breakfasts and two Cokes. While the quality of the breakfast was enjoyable, the overall value felt lacking."

"I had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, so I decided to check it out. One thing that surprised me was the HMC notice outside, but there was no certificate inside indicating when they were certified halal. There was also no sign indicating that the restaurant served halal food, as one would expect. I decided to order the mixed grill platter, which came in a pizza box because they had run out of containers. Unfortunately, the mixed grill was not good. The kebabs seemed to be frozen Lola kebabs, the tikkas were not marinated thoroughly and were too tough and slightly undercooked. The malai chicken was similar in taste, while the green chicken was the only flavorful item. Overall, the food lacked flavor and was unpleasant. I also ordered bhel, which was not authentic. However, the paani puri was delicious with the right flavors, good value for money, and was fresh. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant, and my "average" rating is quite generous."

"I recently stayed at this restaurant for 3 nights and had an amazing experience. I tried the pork curry on the first night and the Sunday roast with lamb on another night, both of which were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend staying here or stopping by for the amazing food. Thank you to Jazz for the wonderful service! The price per person ranges from ÂŁ20-30 and I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5. I especially recommend trying the Jamaican Style Spicy Chicken Wings."

"love the location, and the ambience of the venue- the food was faultless and very tasty I was there with friends for an evening meal.....it was perhaps a little quiet, but very good for conversation without shouting at each other to be heard. My only criticism is that perhaps the waiting staff need a little more training in the customer service department not overly knowledgeable about the food content and how spicy it was, and quite difficult to attract attention . (I used to be a waitress... But the overall experience was very good."

"If you don't know, then you NEED to know! Hands down one of the best Jamaican restaurants in Bristol. Large portion sizes and every bite is packed full of flavour! I had the Jerk chicken, oxtail and peppered steak it was out of this WORLD! All the dishes are served in front of you and it just makes you want to have them all! I can't believe I've only just found out about this place after all these years of trying out most of Bristol's caribbean restaurants! I will be back for sure! The service was great too!! Quick, efficient and friendly. Thank you so much!"

"One of the worst meals I’ve ever had at centre parcs. I’ve always been so impressed by the service and the meals in all the other restaurants but this really was a disaster. The Piri chicken was dry, the drink took about 20 mins to come. Even though the restaurant was empty. Service was awful everyone just standing around. Someone started clearing our table and then just wondered off talking to everyone in the kitchen for about 10 mins, with half the stuff still left on the table. The bar was full of empty glasses over spilling the actual bar and overall a rubbish experience. Would not recommend at all. I work in hospitality and if this was the restaurant I worked in I would be disappointed for my customers to experience this."

"The food here is usually at a 5 star level but occasionally it drops to a 3. This is my favourite takeaway in Loughborough but I just wish it was a bit more consistent with the quality. The processing fee on top of the delivery fee is a bit over the top. Service: Delivery Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 3"
