"The vegetarian choices at this restaurant are top-notch, especially the Dosa and paneer dishes. It's a pity that they don't offer draft beer, but it's not a major issue when the food is this delicious. Despite having only one server that night, he managed to attend to all the tables efficiently. This restaurant is truly authentic and definitely worth a visit."

"The service was friendly and attentive. I was shown to my table and presented with a menu. I ordered pappdoms and a pickle tray. The four pickles were tasty. Cobra and Kingfisher were on draft. I ordered a pint of Cobra but it tasted off so I asked for Kingfisher instead. I was not charged for the Cobra as the waiter agreed it was off. I ordered the Lamb Biryani which came with yogurt raita or curry sauce. It was spicy and the portion was large. My bill came to £17 which I thought was reasonable."

"Really disappointed to be writing this but we have been using Noor as our Indian restaurant for over 5 years. However with the recent changes to the food menus we are going to have to find somewhere else to order from as it must have new owner or chef which has ruined its proud, popular name. Some of the curries we normally order are no longer available and I tried a Bhuna which I’ve loved ordering for years yet it was a crying shame how different it was I did not enjoy this at all. Additionally the samosas I ordered was like something I’d expect from a food van, so upsetting! It’s been a great restaurant to us for years as we used it so regularly however it’s time to move on. I know many of my friends are doing the exact same. Can’t believe you’ve done this to us Noor, hope you’re happy with yourselves."

"After a few years, I am pleased to say that the food quality at this restaurant is still quite good. I give it a full mark for consistency. The menu offers a simple mix of traditional favorites and specialty dishes. We tried the fried fish tendon and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable, given the current circumstances. Overall, we left satisfied and felt that our money was well spent. I would definitely recommend this place to those looking for a change from the usual Punjabi or Dosa dishes. Keep in mind that the seating is limited, so it might be a good idea to call ahead on busy days."

"Went with my family for a nice meal, we arrived and were told that there were very limited drinks available. Was expecting great service after reading the reviews below but honestly from the moment we sat down it felt like we were being rushed out the restaurant. When we sat down we were given menus and immediately asked if we wanted a starter. When we asked for a few more minutes to look at the menu we were told that 5 minutes was too long and needed to make a decision quickly. They tried to clear our starters twice whilst we still had food in our mouths and on our plates. When the main course arrived one meal was cold. They took a drinks order and 20mins later when the drinks hadn't arrived we asked and they had run out of the drinks we had ordered as the other person had forgotten about them. When we tried to complain we were just dismissed and told that the staff were new. Also one of the waitresses had her mask around her chin the whole time she was serving us.The whole experience was awful."

"Chutneys offers a great vegetarian lunch buffet. It is one of a small number of restaurants on Drummond Street doping so, and a fraction cheaper than some of the better known names, but the food is every bit as good and offers excellent value. There's a good selection of cold salads often centred round pulses with warm onion bhajis and roti to start the roti were the only slightly disappointing part of the whole meal as they were a little tough ! . Main dishes includes lentils, chickpeas, mushrooms and cauliflower in distinctive curries, with rice and a good selection of pickles. And there's also dessert with milk jellies and a nice variety of fresh fruit. I had a sparkling lemon and mint drink made to order not from a can it was very nice too, but slightly expensive. But they will just provide you with tap water, and also sell lassis. Note that it's not vegan I heard another diner ask which dishes were, and most were not vegan as many contain yoghurt or ghee. But for vegetarians it's great! Note that the buffet is not served at weekends, I believe."

"I’m not someone who writes reviews or goes to restaurants for writing review But, I have to write this one. I went there with my friends to have a nice biryani with my friends to my surprise there’s zero hospitality. The egg biryani was like a tawa fried rice, with no taste, no salt served cold, chicken biryani had smelly chicken (which my friend ordered) I can write pages about the entire experience but to cut short Mr Mohan was very rude arrogant and was in a fighting mood, kept talking about how he is fed up with other customers and saying that “I’m here only to complain and to get my money back” no one even should ever use these words for a customer. For me it wasn’t about the money or getting something for free, it was about the experience and evening with my friends, which Mr Mohan spoiled with his attitude and words. He wasn’t apologetic about anything. I paid the entire bill and left the food because its the Worst restaurant I ever visited. Do not visit if you don’t want to be infuriated and ill treated by Mr. Mohan. Editing my review after the response from spicy Hyderabad This is my genuine experience at your restaurant and how I was treated for sharing my experience. There was ZERO hospitality, Mr. Mohan’s behaviour is totally unacceptable, I’m not sure if Mr Mohan is responding to the review and saying unfair. If someone’s shares their negative experience at your restaurant doesn’t mean it’s unfair to you, my entire evening was spoiled because of Mr Mohan’s behaviour, he wasn’t willing to listen and rather blaming me and saying demaning things to me like “Im here to complain, to get something for free etc. sarcastically saying what’s your problem etc etc the list goes on”. I left your place with my friends without finishing the food and paying in full even though Mr. Mohan said he has discounted the price of 1 Briyani after saying all the demeaning stuff, but I insisted and paid the money in full, how do you even expect someone with pride and honour to be treated like this. Do you expect me to keep my mouth shut and not talk about my experience??? Please focus on thinking how customers should be treated and customer services can be improved. Thanks"

"The smoothie was delicious and really hit the spot. It was so good it even made me a little tipsy. However, I was a bit disappointed with the crepe as it was cold. Overall, it is still a great place and I would recommend it!"

"Wow what a disappointment clearly all fake reviews or people that eat out of a bin on a daily the chicken tikka masala was awful no flavour just pure spice sp bland the chips was rubber the poppadoms was all crushed in a bag and wasn't fresh near enough stale the chicken wasn't good quality either and the chicken tikka starter was just spicey af chicken pieces chicken tikka should never be that spicey I like spicey food if it has flavour because that's the whole point of spice to bring out the flavour but the flavour was non existent I'd recommend next time someone orders to just ask for pure chilli extract and some rice seriously and the price of this place is a joke for the portion size you get there size of everything is tiny 12.99 for a flavourless chilli extract masala is laughable learn to cook you do not deserve the rating you have and I wish you nothing but bad business here on out. Merry Christmas. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"The food is great but giving it one star for the service, the waiter serving us made us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. Not too sure if he had a bad day at home but if I am paying a premier price for the food in an otherwise grim looming restaurant I expect basic courtesy from the staff, good food is not enough. We were told our table was booked after 9PM and will need to leave by 845PM. While ordering desert at 8PM he started looking at his watch. On asking the portion sizes for ordering the right amount the answer was a plain and rude “I can’t tell you that”. It was a very odd experience and I am certainly not stepping foot in that restaurant again. All in all, my experience was bad due to one bad egg, if you are reading this I would say the food was really good and I had been there before, but that certainly was my last trip."

"A group of friendly women run this cozy vegetarian restaurant that does not serve alcohol. The menu offers a unique twist on traditional Indian dishes. The food was tasty, but it would have been better if served in properly insulated containers to keep it warm. They also have a nice variety of desserts that you can buy and take home with you."

"What a let down! Out of town, staying in local hotel and Only came on the back of a glowing google score. Empty restaurant on a Friday night??? Lamb chops were black charred beyond adding flavour. Tasted bitter. The onion Bhaji’s were 2/3s flour and were like pakora batter, not really mostly onion!! Not nice, these were left. We ordered 2 chicken tikka curries, the chicken was ok, but both curries were bland, just tasting of salty base gravy. Disappointing. Service was excellent. People are lovely but this is not great British Indian curry. Lots of locals seemed pleased but I am used to much better."

"My opinion of chilli pickle has diminished almost as much as their portion sizes. Service was fine but the fOoD, what happened? We paid £60 for two mains, two sides and a starter. The sides were bigger than the mains, and we just bought rice and a supermarket bought naan bread. Nepali Hot wings Achari paneer sizzler Sigri Kesar Jingri Coriander and garlic naan Pilau rice The starter was decent (Nepali Hot wings) but the mains were ridiculous. Maybe this place is run by a team of rabbits, I'm not sure why else I got charged almost £20 for 6 prawns and raw spring onion (Sigri Kesar Jinga). it appeared as if someone had literally walked outside grabbed them, and stuck it on a plate. The Achari paneer sizzler featured 4 slices of paneer over a handful of red onion and was £14. Great place if you're on a diet and have too much money because this was about 200 calories. Would've been quicker for me to throw £60 in the bin than waste it here."

"Had a good time with friends. I'll recommend you don't go with families as the music is really loud in doors. They have opted into the eat out to help out which helps cause their prices are quite expensive but the quality is good so you don't feel like you're eating any only Indian food They do halal options too which was good for my family. The chili paneer starter was OK, just a bit too chili not a fan. The gobi machurian was excellent, crispy battered sweet sauce. Excellent! They forgot our masala fries unfortunately! Had bhuna for mains and I enjoyed that with laccha paratha. Also tried the lamb chops, well cooked a d good flavour. Avoid the rosmery chicken unless you like bland flavours. Staff are a bit all over the place, the serving staff are separate from the greeting/payment staff. Some people just stand around and are not sure what they are doing besides some executive management. Seemed abit silly."

"Our experience at Papa's Wok was very positive. We appreciated the variety of meat and vegetarian options available. The veg spring rolls we ordered were tasty and we received an extra one, which was a nice surprise. The chicken dish we tried was delicious, with the chicken tooan standing out for its flavor compared to the dragon chicken. The gobi manchurian and stirring vegetables were both well-seasoned and enjoyable. We also tried the sweet and chili and garlic rice, both of which came in a box. The chili and garlic rice was tasty but not as spicy as expected. However, the plant noodles were disappointing as they lacked flavor and were quite bland. The portion sizes of the big box were generous and we were impressed by the amount of food. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Papa's Wok and would definitely order from them again."

"chak 89 is a very popular restaurant under the Indian community in south london while you go up the stairs to the restaurant, you can see the wall of the rest. the walls are covered with photos of celebrities from bollywood, hollywood, sports and music fields. the collection is very impressive. they could add a teller with the prominent names for some whose signatures are not very clear and whose names are at the top of the string, but cannot be remembered for the banquet and catering there are many broochures. they are available on all etagens the restaurant is richly spread and impressive with many chandeliers, sofa seating...read more"

"a group of 6 of us went there on a Monday evening as there were good reviews. it is located in a next street, and the first impression was the datierte decoration. they have an extensive menu and many items are listed as vegan or can be made vegan. we had the opportunity to get in the ground floor near the beginning (which was above warm) or down (which was very cold, as there was no heating) so we chose the ground floor. the restaurant was pretty busy. they serve alcohol. on the menu is located cobra beer 1/2 pint, 1 pint and from the bottle. buy the bottle as there is much cheaper than the design beer. note that on the menu there are poppadums on two places mentioned. £1 for 1. or pay them £3,50 for two if they want something chutney with. they bring them the more expensive if they do not specify. I had punjabi samosas for the starter. they were in order, but I had better elsewhere. one of our groupings the bhel armi, but it did not happen until all others had finished their ancestors, but he said it tasted very beautiful. for the net I had the tofu massaman curry. in the round it consisted of large plates of tofu with some kartoffels in a green sauce. unfortunately my curry lukewarm was when it arrived, but it tasted ok. It was very mild and suitable for my palate. I had to order a part rice separately, and the part rice was bigger than I actually needed. my partner ordered the vegan thiali £17. we told the waiter that we were vegan when we ordered and the vegan thiali is mentioned specifically on the menu. when it arrived, it seemed to have milkrita as well as a non-vegan dessert. we asked the waiter if it was vegan and he said yes, then he reconstructed and took the dessert away to be replaced. he did not seem to be aware that the rita was not vegan. I checked with another employee who said that the rita they brought was not vegan and they would also replace it. another employee said they would replace the rita with a vegan version they did. it seemed just a waiter for most of the time to be, and he seemed to watch his time with headphones in and on his phone! overall eating was ok, the service was not so great. there are many Indian vegetarian restaurants in london and some with beautiful decoration and better eating."

"on visiting this restaurant on Thurs Jan we arrived early (the first customers)but were shown to a table and asked if we wanted drinks , although it was early the restaurant was cold and the dÃcor was quite dull and spartan, the staff were very friendly and helpful and although there was no sharing platter on the menu one was made up for us. Now to get to the important part, this restaurant is all about the food and having travelled extensively both all over Britain and the continent this was possibly the best Indian food we have ever eaten if it was possible I would give the food stars The location is also superb being immediately opposite the Festival theatre ideal for pre theatre dinner. Our party consisted of three adults and the total cost including drinks was only which considering its location in the middle of Edinburgh was excellent. I would be happy to visit again, but if they could sort out the ambience issues and toilet I would happily have given it stars."
