"the first time that I ordered from here a month ago, the food quality was good, but they forget to take drinks. they gave them back and let go. the second time I recently ordered from here, they have not only forgotten one of the articles, but the quality has completely declined. the curry wasn't as good as the first time. I will not order again unless I learn that the previous cook has returned and they commit themselves to thoroughly review their orders before they send out. the ground material."

"Where to start. It’s probably best to look at the photos tbh. The ‘poppadoms and pickle tray’ was this abomination of a poppadom. Minus a pickle tray. The bhatooray (naan) was a laughable mess of half cooked whatever. The dried beef….well. Extra naan didn’t turn up. The food arrived half cold. This entire tray of food was £56. No doubt there will be a reply saying ‘we’re sorry you didn’t enjoy your food blah blah blah’ but sending this shambles out for £56 is a joke. Basically, go somewhere else."

"I visited this restaurant last Sunday and tried their authentic Indian cuisine. I had Vadapav paired with some delicious masala tea and thoroughly enjoyed it! I definitely need to visit again to try out more of their dishes. The service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I highly recommend trying their Pav Bhaji and Samosa. This restaurant is a must-visit for breakfast, with prices ranging from £1-10 per person."

"Beautiful restaurant! The decor was elegant and IG worthy. The staff were superb, very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Would go back just for the service The bar is off the hook. Fantastic whiskey selection with even top shelf whiskeys from Japan. Great Gins and vodkas, better selection then the majority of bars. The music ???? was also really nice, we actually stayed for drinks after dinner just to listen. The food was also excellent, the chili chicken was our fav , and we loved the mixed veggies grill. ???? My only slight disappointment was the Tandoori Soya Chaap. I think the texture was good, but it needed some sort of sauce, it was a bit dry on it's own. But everything else was good!"

"I took my wife (to be) here 35 years ago and we have been dozens of times since. Tonight was as if it was a different restaurant. We had to ask for menus after waiting for 15 minutes. The wine arrived half way through the starters (which were good). The main courses were mediocre, the rice and naan especially so. After staring at our plates for 20 minutes we had to ask for the bill which came with an added service charge. Kalpna had been one of the leaders in veggie food in Edinburgh, now they have a lot of catching up to do. I assume the restaurant has changed hands, or maybe they (like everyone) just had an off day. It was also difficult to be sure from the menu what was vegan and what was not. Updated from previous review on 2023-05-26"

"I was really open for all last night to go into a brand new restaurant is always an experience. at the arrival we were a touch early so explored by the Asian loading, which is tied into caffe, so a large number of ingredients was a very encouraging start. in the restaurant itself I was blown away from the sheer mass of the menu, as many incredible dishes, (we tried as many as possible.) our waiter moved us to many dishes and advised us to try a bit of it and a bit of it. everything was really great and full of balanced traditional taste; really the best Indian food I've ever seen. this evaluation could be an 11-page dissertation, but I will save them all from it. 10/10 and cannot wait to dedicate the rest of the menu!"

"Having visited the Joshua Tree prior to it becoming an Indian restaurant, I had high hopes! Sadly these hopes were dashed rather quickly. Popadoms, were a tad soft, tandoori prawns mushy, Chicken 65 fried and dry, lamb chops small, however the chilli beef was the saviour of the starters! Mains were ordered, warm plates set out and there we sat. To pass the time more drinks were ordered however we had to chase as they were not forthcoming unlike the takeaway orders which were flowing out of the kitchen at regular intervals. At one point during our wait the waiter apologised for the delay in our main meals being cooked due to a problem with an oven. We accepted this explanation, however when more takeaways kept coming out of the kitchen with no sign of our mains, frustration started to mount. After 50 minutes, with warm plates cold we asked for the bill. The one waiter who was run ragged apologised profusely, a second waiter came out and informed us our dinner was ready and brought out one main course which looked like it had been sitting on the pass for the length of time we had been waiting! The run ragged waiter produced our bill, deducted our starters which was extremely kind, however the overall experience had been ruined. This visit was extremely disappointing. Had the restaurant been heaving, it wouldn’t have been so bad. Joshua Tree you might have a booming takeaway business but please remember your restaurant customers are equally as important!"

"Visited Delhi 6 for the first time last night with my Fiancè, and i was so excited to go, and experience Delhi 6 for myself, and i was not dissapointed, the service, the food, the atmosphere, all excellent, the food was presented perfectly, for the prices you pay, for the food you would not expect it to be presented in the way it was, the meals look like they should cost a lot more than they do. I like to try different food when go for a meal so i got food that i had never had before which can be risky but i was over the moon with food I had. For starter I had the Chicken Chaat, and my Fiancé had the onion Bhaji, For the mains I had the Chandi Chowk (tiger prawns) And my Fiancé had the Chicken tikka from the grill. As i have said before the food was out of this world! This restaurant is right up there with best of them 100% will visit again and i will tell everyone that they have to visit Delhi 6."

"I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, it's extremely overrated. I visited after seeing the inflated ratings and numerous YouTube shorts and TikTok reels hyping up the biryanis with dough wraps. This is merely a cheap trick. The dough is disaster.! Firstly, the biryanis were clearly not cooked in the same pot. It's obvious they just wrapped dough around the bowl and microwaved it The biryani wasn't even fresh,looks like 4 days old rice and chicken yet it took a staggering 45 minutes to serve it. I requested a spicy biryani, and all they did was dump red chilli paste into the mix. True spiciness in a biryani should come from the masala flavour When you order biryani, you expect some onions and raita to come with it, not to be charged extra for them. Overall, I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with the food and the pricing. The biryani was awful, and this place is just an overrated, overpriced gimmick."

"I have booked for Sunday short for 25 people after a positive experience at the weekend. every dish I tried was amazing, the menu was easy to read, they had quality beer on the draught ie cobra and estrella and location scenery was very relaxing in the marina with plentiful parking. an Indian gloom I tried everything, but was pleasantly surprised by the secret twist to the aromes I had never experienced. great service of callum and beth. nothing was too much annoyed, each request was filled with a smile and one yes I can what is especially commendable when there was a big party to keep happy. each person went with an unforgettable culinary experience."

"Popped in on a very quiet Thursday around 12pm. Asked if there was a table for 2. Front entrance and restaurant were completely empty and was almost silent. We asked a lady if there was chance of a table. She went to look at her laptop and then a man (probably a manager) greeted us and then went to look with her. She came back and said there’s “absolutely no tables available” we couldn’t believe it as it was literally empty and we were only two! Then the man joined in “there’s no way we can fit you in, we don’t have the capacity”. We asked if we could sit in the bar, “not today, there’s no room”. Very rude and dismissive two members of staff. As we left, we then overheard the manager say “we have no tables left and absolutely no room for festivities today”. He peered at the door and realised we were still stood there. Very awkward. As someone who used to work for this company, I couldn’t believe the poor service and lack of curtesy."

"I would not even give this place a single star! Out of all the restaurants I have visited, this one had the worst service. I'm not exaggerating - we didn't even receive any service. I went with a group of friends, and one of them arrived 10-15 minutes before us and was already seated. She tried to get some service, but nobody paid any attention to us when we all arrived. The lady working there was too busy chatting with other customers, and even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, they didn't bother to inform us that they would be with us shortly. We eventually left, and still no one noticed or cared about losing our business. We definitely won't be returning."
