"Booked a table for 8 people, turned up bang on time and we were ordered to wait outside. As it was a joint birthday and leaving do for 2 of us, we had some extra guests. When 2 extra turned up and we only had 1 spare seat the manager, without informing me, told them that one of them would have to leave. I spoke to the manager when I found out, and she was clearly ready to die in a ditch over us not being able to seat any more people. I was left mortified, having to turn friends away, despite there being empty tables around us, and 2 empty seats on the table next door. It would have been easy to accommodate us, but instead I was left apologising to guests and telling them they had to leave. We only stayed because we had already ordered food, but to add insult to injury they had burned our order, and we had to completely reorder 30 minutes later. Nobody apologised for any of this, my birthday was ruined and I was left in tears in the restaurant. For anyone who hasn’t visited in a while, the food has gone downhill and they no longer serve cocktails. I could handle both of those points if we hadn’t been made to feel utterly unwelcome from the second we set foot in the door. What an extraordinary experience."

"The only complaint I have is that everything felt a bit worn out and not take care of. The menus were falling apart. The floor was sticky. The decor also felt a little off. Just looks like the person who owns it doesn’t really care all that much for it. But the chef we had was charming and the food was good. My kids loved it and I haven’t had tepanyaki in years. Overall a pleasant experience, just don’t walk in with high expectations."

"Very bad. At around 1pm on Sunday 31st December I received a call saying that my 5pm booking (same day) had been cancelled as they were now holding a New Year's party that would cost about £200 per person. For my booking they said that I could only move it to 3pm (before they closed). They should have had these details on Open Table beforehand. I then asked if they could hold my booking so that I could discuss with friends that I booked it for. When I called back they were unable to understand me and the conversation was a bit of a struggle. In the end I cancelled the booking."

"Shimogano opened in 2013 in a parade of shops on Camden Parkway. It is named after an ancient Kyoto Shinto shrine that is a UNESCO world heritage site. The restaurant has a small dining area and bar at ground level, the main dining room being in the basement. The décor is fairly basic, and the restaurant serves a wide variety of Japanese cuisine styles, from sushi to tempura to noodles and beyond. This slightly scattergun approach is normal in London but unusual in Japan, where most restaurants specialise, sometimes to an extreme degree e.g. some restaurants serve only eel, or only tonkatsu. "I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. My group was one of only two tables there during lunchtime. I ordered the Ramen with an additional £2 charge for tonkatsu and £1 charge for a soft boiled egg. Unfortunately, it took over 40 minutes for the dish to come out, and when it did, the noodles were soaked in broth, the egg was overcooked, and the tonkatsu was dry. I took a picture of the ramen as the waiter was collecting it and informed him of my dissatisfaction, but did not request anything else. As someone who used to work in restaurants, I understand that everybody has off days. However, what really disappointed me was that the management never came to our table to apologize, even though we were one of only two tables in the restaurant. This lack of attention to customer service is why I can only give this restaurant a 1-star rating. If you're looking for sushi in Paisley, I would recommend going to Okome instead."

"Lovely restaurant in vicinity of London Bridge. Decor and atmosphere was nice place for a dinner with drinks. The place was not busy and we were quickly given a table. We had a tempura and unagi roll, and a salmon set which was tasty. Sashimi was thick cut and fresh. Staff was friendly and checked on us frequently. The only negative was they made a mistake in our order twice, but was quick to rectify and food came on table timely probably a new staff. The menu was a white sheet with text, and i wonder if it was a covid 19 reduced menu or not as i found the menu slightly plain. Prices were on the steeper side. May visit again if i crave sushi and am in the area, but would not go specifically."

"The experience was mediocre. Unfortunately, we were isolated from the rest of the table. We were seated in an awkward spot between two groups, leading to us feeling excluded. The chefs focused their attention on the other diners first before cooking for us. The food was decent, but it was clear that some chefs were more enthusiastic than others. It was unusual to be asked to move to another table for the final course. Overall, we left feeling quite disappointed."

"It was my sister's birthday and i was the one that choose this place, based on my last experience with them the very first time they opened the one in Hammersmith. I ordered for them beef BBQ. there was like six little beef served to me in a bowl, and it was labelled TWO portion. was not able to cook it myself... My sis could not eat the noddle she ordered for. was horrible. The dumpling were nice though lmfao. Drinks were overpriced and small. Food were ridiculously small for an expensive price. I felt so bad taking my sis there for her birthday, as she was so disappointed. SMH"
