"We decided to take the Yeoman up on their Burns night special. It was rather disappointing. There were a number of items that were not available, which ruled out several items on the set menu. The mains were ok, although the portions weren’t thought through. The server offered to correct it, but it was too late in the meal. The mains were overpriced for what you got. The desert was a real disappointment. We ordered Cranachan and were told there were no Raspberry’s. When it arrived the server owned up the chef hadn’t ever made it before. This was clear as it was just porridge with a strawberry on top. We weren’t charged for them in the end, but what the point of having a set menu if the chef can’t cook it. The service was very slow and we weren’t once asked for a drinks order. The manager was really nice and friendly, but that didn’t make up for what was a really disappointing meal."

"The food was exceptional like no other. The service wasn’t, our booking was for 1.5 hours and we finished our food within 1 hour exactly. A member of the staff dropped off the check and said the party after us has already arrived. Note that the restaurant was not full and our reservation time was not over. We thought that was very rude. The staff member later apologized and said he got confused with another table which is odd but he then proceeded with removing the service charge on his own. The prices won’t suit everyone as they’re a bit high compared to other popular breakfast brunch places in London."

"the warmest kindest greeting we've ever had when we eat it. extremely dog and vegetarian friendly. we had a nice lunch with the search for the city where we could take the dog and stumble over this jewel of an ortes. we will be back and recommend to all our friends. a wonderful place to eat and the ethics of the bistro was an absolute bonus on already a perfect place to lunch. "a real paradise for food! loading on the menu, yet quality is really high. I had the pork royos special (I think), that was incredible. the personal was beautiful and the place is a cozy affair. highly recommended if they try something new. vegetarian options: much to choose. child-friendly: many children when there is, including mine. "We had a fab time at the Pembroke on a Sunday. We took our 2 doggies so we couldn’t sit in the main restaurant but in the other pub area which was fine. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely lovely and really well priced. I had the vegan Wellington and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The only small critique I can think of is the stools were very comfy I would have preferred a chair with a back but that’s me being picky! Deffo coming back!"

"Amazing, fresh food, great portion sizes, very friendly and speedy service. Well priced too. Went there at about 18.00 on a Thursday after shopping in Glasgow, ordered the souvlaki (plates) and a Greek salad. We asked them to skip the chillies in the salad (some people noted that the food is spicy, so know that you can make these requests). Seriously, couldn't have asked for anything better. Hard recommend!"

"Heading to the Hippodrome I looked for somewhere we could have a pre show dinner but not too heavy. The Old Yard Tapas Bar was sporting a tempting Spanish Tapas and Greek Meze Vegan Dinner Menu so gave it a bash. In the evening each table is candlelit, intimate but can be open for good chat for groups. Bar is well stocked, music was pleasant and staff attentive with a nice ambience. There is a different vegan lunch and vegan dinner menu which are extracts from the main menu with some dishes changed to suit vegans. The vegan dinner menu sported 9 Spanish Tapas and 8 Greek Meze choices, with 11 sides (see picture). Unlike many places which brag about a good a menu but in reality they don’t have half of the ingredients, only 2 were not available due to being let down by suppliers. We choose carefully to ensure the tastebuds had a different sensation or texture and we were not disappointed. The ‘Breadbasket’ to start with had soft olive bread with vegan butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A lovely appetiser while the food was being cooked and very cheap too. Spanish ‘Patatas Ali Oli’ was warming comfort food consisting of tapas fried potatoes topped with a vegan ali oli (see picture) Spanish ‘Morcilla Y Chorizo’ tasted just like real black pudding, but was a vegan black pudding with soy chorizo, topped with red onion. Amazing. Spanish ‘Chorizo Con Pimentos Asados’ delighted our tastebuds. Rich with no obvious indication it was vegan at all. It’s a soy chorizo with roasted red peppers and pan fried in brandy and garlic. Delicious. Greek ‘Boorekakia’ was really tasty and while the texture may put some off (very soft and slippery) it tasted really nice. It’s sliced aubergine, rolled and stuffed with vegan feta cheese and topped with tomato and vegan parmesan. We also ordered the Greek ‘Halloumi’ but it was off the menu so they served at feta version instead (and never charged us for it it was on the house). It’s is pan fried vegan halloumi (feta for us) served with oregano lemon on top. Refreshing and real palate cleanser. Washed down with a jug sangria, it felt like we were on holiday. "The food here is absolutely amazing, delicious and full of flavour, I've had the chicken in a basket from here and recently had the swiss burger (after the burger I asked for was out of stock and the server recommended the swiss burger), and both dishes cooked to perfection so much so I asked them to pass on my compliments to the chef. I'd also highly recommend the homemade ice tea if you're an ice tea fan or a tea drinker otherwise they have a great drinks selection all from local and nearby businesses, they also have a large range of coffee for the coffee lovers too. You'd be crazy not to visit here for food and it's always a pleasant place to visit."

"Just been for afternoon lunch. Very poor 2 cold dinners when we said they just removed and replaced with not even sorry about that, no cutlery given out to the 5 of us . we got that ourselves the young lad serving was fine he said sorry and offered free puddings but no thanks and removed 2 meals from our bill. The best part with the bill after having the 2 meals removed they add 1 and half salads to the bill. The response it happens things get added. It was supposed to be a nice lunch out but it left a sour taste for all 5 people. Very poor show and will never return."

"I stopped by for lunch on Sunday, making a last-minute decision. There were plenty of empty tables available. We ordered the beef and chicken dishes, which came with roast potatoes, carrot mash, and green vegetables. The meal was delicious and flawless. We also received quick service, and the food was served piping hot, which was impressive. I will certainly return. It is a bit pricier at £19.00 each, but it was absolutely worth it. The only downside for me is the atmosphere at Mortons. The wooden tables and floors make it feel less cozy and more like a cafeteria. Perhaps adding some booths or other elements could enhance the ambiance."

"I was really thrilled to find this place last time I was in St Just. I 'm from Cornwall myself, was vegetarian from the age of 11 (I 've been vegan for 3 years now , and when I was young it was almost impossible even to get vegetarian food a lot of the time. Asking for a salad sandwich would often lead to the refrain 'what, no meat?? ' followed by utter confusion. These days it 's getting a lot easier (yay! and finding The Square last time I was home visiting my Mum was a lovely surprise. It was a flying visit, and unfortunately I was there too early in the day to get to try the vegan pizza, but I had a large salad with a vegan bhaji, a slice of vegan cake, and coffee with soya milk. It was filling, tasty, and excellent value for money. The staff were delightful, friendly, and very welcoming. Next time I 'm down visiting family I 'm going to make sure I 'm in time to try the pizza, and they had some very tasty sounding sorbet too. My one very minor complaint, is that I wish they 'd been serving the vegan pizza at lunch time!"

"We had a lovely afternoon tea which served in the quiet room. I loved the little bowl of soup and the beautiful presentation of the dishes. Very nice cake selection and we had our first taste of edible flowers. The scones would be my least favourite part as think I would have expected different' scones from the usual there and they were rather dry. Also one jar of jam and cream were a bit small portion for the four scones however the black currant jam was delicious."

"we were at sophias by chance, because we didn't book and just came by. they were so courteous and found us a table. there were live guitar playing and the atmosphere was great. eating was really good and delicious and the staff was excellent. I wish more restaurants take care of their customers like this place update. May 2022. "We have enjoyed eating here in the past, but it had been a while since we had last been here. The restaurant was set up well with Covid measures of hand sanitiser and perspex screens. We were also asked to provide our details for TT. The service was very attentive and friendly but then we were the only ones in the restaurant!The food was excellent, good size portions and very tasty. "I have awarded 4 stars not because of food and service but because parking near to the restaurant is difficult , step flight of stairs leading upto the restaurant and doubtful wheelchair access. Restaurant has an excellent view over the river , is austere in design but nice tables and chairs with plenty of room . In nice weather enjoyable to sit out on the balcony. Bar service. Service good , cheerful, efficient and polite. Excellent selection of tapas which meant that the 4 of us were able to chose dishes to suit ourselves . I enjoyed the mushrooms and beef the best but the lamb koftas and salad were also liked by the others. Liked the way the tapas dishes were timed to arrive as you ate your way through the meal."
