The food is always good but today it was exceptional. Great staff super friendly and relaxed atmosphere and a fantastic meal.

Brilliant local brewed beer and seafood. Really friendly staff, great service and simply stunning food. My favourite local pub for sure

Delicious food. Who would have thought seaweed could taste so good?? Along with all the other delicious local seafood offerings. Top spot.

we did not book on Saturday afternoon, which of course meant that we had only to sit the outside garden. that was in order with their external heating. eating was quite delicious the crayfish crab cocktail

Gorgeous meal in a lovely relaxed setting. We couldn’t get in for dinner so had a nice lunch with a few glasses of wine and really enjoyed it. Every course was delicious, service excellent and atmosphere easy going.

When you get given the menu decide what you want and are then told they don’t have it I doesn’t bode well. Why not say what you don’t have before giving the customer the choice? To order coffee at the end and to be told that there isn’t any is also pretty frustrating

the first waitress could not explain to us the “Specials menu” and not understand the wein we had demanded. fortunately another waitress had come to serve us, and everything went nice and smooth. we had both oysters, scallops, squid, chips and lobster. all boiled to perfection! comes back definitiw.

The service was excellent thanks to Nathaniel. We have been to the urchin many times before but the food just didn’t seem it’s normal exceptionally high standard. There was half the amount of salt and pepper squid normally served and half the seasoning. The squid was served with broccoli I thought this was a bit odd. The Malaysian prawns had less lentils and It was a very long wait for the main to arrive. Such a shame!

What a find! we were staying in Hove, one night only and decided upon this place for our evening meal. Very nice place, friendly, we were sat outside but had a heater nearby so all was good. For starters we took the Scallops and the Burrata, both very tasty and not too big. For mains we both had the Malaysian prawns in a spicy lentil sauce, amazing! really nice bottle of rose on the menu too. Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend.
