"Took my mrs and 2 kids here for a sunday lunch, admittedly this is a curry place but they do say they did a Sunday Lunch on the menu so thought why not. Staff friendly, no issues here. However, the music was weirdly r ..b after r b no issues with r b but its Sunday afternoon and its a restaurant?? and it was properly loud to the point i was having to raise my voice for my family to hear me (and I love music). They also played a song with all sorts of swearing and sexual references, really not what we want with 5 and 3 year old? Thankfully about half way through they must have noticed as it got turned off. Just struck me as though it was an employee playing a list of all their favourite songs and stuff the customers? The most disappointing thing however was the food. We ordered a lamb dinner. I am not being funny, I am not entirely sure we got lamb, it really didn't taste like any lamb I have ever had. Chewy, fully of fat, quite frankly, disgusting. I left half my plate. They gave us a mini jug each of gravy which was about enough to put on a saucer of food let alone a plate. We then got charged £45 which was not near what the menu prices stated (they state £6.99 for a lamb dinner), by this time we just wanted to get out so paid and will not be returning."

"this cozy restaurant offers them a lot of fantastically arranged and a five-star service. I was there for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it! the food is very tasty and very presented and I can say that the ingredients are very fresh. fabio and the other staff are professional and very friendly and provide a first-class service. it is worth trying their fried corgettes as well as the gamberoni and of course their pizza, which is only divine! I will definitely go back and try some new antipasti and pasta dishes. the menu has many fabulous options too difficult to choose! highly recommended!"

"First time ordering this tonight as a treat for getting a new job... and wow! My tastebuds have been expanded and I loved every bite. I ordered the langos burger and it was a mighty beautiful beast, only managed half of it, but it was amazing. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant when everything opens up. I would say that the food did arrive later than the expected time on the website, however it was worth the wait. I did try to ring the restaurant three times and they didn’t answer once... so perhaps that is something to work on? But great food and the delivery driver was a nice guy too."

"Hello...We met up with friends the table that we were allocated was in the middle of a war zone with children screaming and swearing. After a ten minutes we asked for another table as we could not hear ourselves talk above the chaos. We were shown to another table upstairs and this was better as we could hold a conversation. We ordered our meals and drinks and waited and waited eventually the starters arrived cold followed by the main meals which we had not even started !!!! One meal full rack of ribs and one steak were of a reasonable quality, the other two meals fish and chips were floating in oil and uneatable. My friends fish contained NO FISH just batter was this a joke ? I went to see the manager and brought him back to our table after seeing the table littered with starters and main meals he offered to replace the two fish and chips which was too late by now, our evening was spoilt and a disaster. Credit to the manager as he could see our disbelief on what had happened and waived the bill totally, this did not make up for the evening. We left and went to another establishment which turned out to be able to offer the evening we had hoped that your establishment could carry out without out all the above problems. This is not the first time this has happened the last time was in The Plough Sutton common road branch check you emails and you will see the problems we had there which were very similar. All in all things need to change unless us older fraternity are not required at your restaurants in future just the mob handed families and screaming children are welcome. "The restaurant was clean and a bit busy last Saturday AM (28/10). The service wasn't the best really, as the greeter kept us waiting at the entrance for some time before we were seated. The waitress did her best to cater to us though she was the only one available. We had the southern chicken waffle with bacon and maple syrup. The food was ok actually but the portion is not a big one so don't have that if you're hungry!"

"beautiful restaurant with view of the bar, beautiful outside seats, if the weather allowed. service was friendly and attentive. had to start muddles with sea vegetables, which was good, but very salty, perhaps the meergy pleasure to sell some salt. monkfish was excellent and cooked, seasoned perfectly. no place for dessert so order a Macchiato coffee, but got a cappuccino. good wine list and cheap, **** mary could have been better, as it does not season and served with too much ice makes it watery."

"Went in for a cider with my mates the manger has very poor customer service and was refusing to serve us for no valid reason. I understand why at the first instance I was not severed as I forgot my id however I went back home brought it to show and he again refused to serve me for apparent bad attitude when all I was asking was a genuine question. Anyone who knows me knows I’m far from having a bad attitude! When coming back with my id and he saw me and my friend he rolled his eyes and shook his head at me it’s not very nice. Hence the feeling of feeling disrespected. Absolutely disgusting. Honestly felt racially profiled I am devastated. In this day and age? Really? Is it really that hard to smile and do your job of serve a drink? Went back in today after this incident purely due to meeting friends and convenience and as I felt over the situation. Was told I couldn’t be served unless I apologised to the manager who was being rude to me previously. I said yes that’s fine I’ll apologise purely to avoid another situation. A different manager came to speak to me and her attitude and demeanour from the beginning was already rude. She said I had to delete my previous review and why come back if I left a one star review. She had an issue with the fact I used race in my review however I’ve read previous reviews and other people have said the same thing. She was shouting at me in the middle of the bar, very unprofessional, and felt very attacking. I still decided to apologise to avoid my friends from having to leave. She then refused to take my apology. So just a heads up don’t leave a one star review and don’t speak about your bad experience unless you want to be shouted at spoken rudely to when you are just trying to get a drink after a hard day. I have never had an issue like this in any other pub or bar and initially felt like I shouldn’t post this experience to prevent them from further targeting me. However I am leaving York very soon and feel like this should be said. i am not trying to be disrespectful purely expressing my feelings as I felt like I couldn’t speak to the manager properly due to her predisposition of the situation."

"As owner of said 'big dog ' mentioned in the below review, I can 't stress enough at how the staff don 't simply allow dogs to wander around. Firstly, my dog is well groomed and so smells delightful. My dog was also on lead the whole time and didn 't approach any tables. I feel it unfair to give a location a 1* review for allowing dogs. Perhaps the gentleman below didn 't see the article online regarding the 'Puppy party ' that was held recently in order to raise funds for a local dog rescue? Regardless, the food here has never disappointed me, the staff are efficient and friendly and I can only thank them enough for their hospitality since I moved here. Can 't stress enough how welcoming everyone is."

"we have a family room for a big birthday party. we had a party of 10 due to the size of our party we were in the pariser room, the 10-12 people. we were able to reach the room earlier than our evening booking to design the table place birthday gifts ballons in place for the night. a large private room that allows a larger group space private sphere to celebrate in style. large decor a large size for larger groups. the restaurant esself is a great place, a pianist played when we entered the personal that became attentive. we had pre ordered our meal choice to make this a smooth operation. we have waited for one during the first course, but with the drink flow the group celebrates the occasion, this was not a real thing. in addition this was a busty Saturday evening. eating was great, I had a paté to start, which was a tasty appetiser, followed by a medium rare steak. that is from far the best steak that I could enjoy in a long time. cooked to perfection. finished with a cream brûlée that was nice. the whole party cleaned their plates all commented on how big the food was, from steak to pork belly lachs all enjoy nothing left. a beautiful evening in a great location, with friendly personal great food. worth a visit!"

"We have been visiting are local harvester , for all our special celebrations ie Birthdays etc and have always been made welcome. Friday 8 th September was no different, we were celebrating a Special Wedding anniversary 50 years with are family. The service was excellent , and Clara are waitress was very efficient and considerate of our needs. I had asked if possible , for a table not near the kitchen. The table could not of been better for the 9 of us. The whole evening was brilliant , the food the service , the atmosphere. The air-conditioning was a little on the cool side, but understand as it was a very warm night. Thank You Kira and her team , we will most certainly be back next year for another special birthday celebration. "

"The food was great (had a very lovely afternoon tea) but unfortunately the service was poor; although polite when speaking to us the service staff pretty much ignored us once we had ordered our food. My friend and I wanted to order another hot drink but had to wait 45 minutes for someone to take our order (despite attempting to get someone’s attention several times) and then again when wanting to get the bill it took standing up and putting our coats on after another long time waiting (and asking several people) to actually get the bill. I want to blame it on how busy the restaurant was however we saw several tables around us come and go in the time we were there."
