"This was the first time I have ordered from this restaurant and, in all honesty, probably the last. For a little more effort and care I suspect this could have been a review full of praise. Instead I feel short-changed. The order was placed an hour before they opened and was subsequently accepted and the delivery time confirmed. The app was updated twice to delay the delivery by 15 minutes and then they didn’t bother to do this for a third time, just letting it arrive another 10 minutes later. So, 40 minutes late. Not a great start. When it was delivered it was in an open thin carrier bag, so little wonder it was barely tepid. I had to reheat the food, especially the thin chapatti which was just disappointing. As for the samosa, I was supposed to receive 3 for the £4.50 paid but, instead, I received 1 and they should have been described as mini samosas because they were the small ones you might purchase from a supermarket as part of a ready meal.Little wonder they don’t provide an image of all their food. The curries were very tasty but the whole experience was soured by the fact that delivery times meant nothing to this restaurant. No effort is made to keep the food warm meaning food has to be re-heated and, despite charging a premium price for samosas, they actually supplied 2 instead of 3 and these look like the mini samosas available in bulk from most supermarkets. I gave the restaurant a chance after receiving a leaflet but they need to up their game because there is a lot of competition in the area. With flavourful food, this experience could so easily have been a 5 star affair."

"When you step into the Garden Tea Room in Penrith, you'll find a charming oasis in the middle of the busy town. This lovely establishment has quickly become my favorite spot for a cozy cup of tea and a delicious treat. My recent visit with my cousin was absolutely delightful. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the warm smell of freshly baked goods and the sound of people chatting. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, perfect for a leisurely catch-up. I enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate in a cute dog-shaped mug that made me smile. The rich chocolate, fluffy marshmallows, and creamy whipped cream made each sip a delight for the taste buds. My cousin, who loves savory food, had a tasty ham sandwich piled high with juicy ham and fresh salad ingredients. Every bite showed the kitchen's dedication to using quality ingredients and making dishes with care. We also had slices of crispy bar cake that were full of flavor and texture, showing off the tea room's baking skills. The staff provided exceptional service with friendly smiles and genuine care for our experience. The Garden Tea Room is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience that stays with you long after you finish your meal. The combination of delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and great service makes it a hidden gem in Penrith. I highly recommend this lovely establishment to anyone looking for a pleasant break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you want something sweet or savory, the Garden Tea Room has something to satisfy every craving.
