"The food at this restaurant is delicious and the portions of Sunday roast are huge, all at reasonable prices. The front parking was a bit cramped, but there are some easily accessible spaces in the additional parking area. There is a large children's play area that kept the kids entertained while waiting for their meal. The service was also excellent. The only downside is that the venue itself feels a bit worn and run down, especially the bar area. Overall, I would give the food a rating of 5 out of 5."

We recently held our wedding at this venue and it was absolutely fabulous. The venue has a large car park and is surrounded by beautiful scenery. The staff were the best we have ever encountered, although be cautious of the speed bump when entering and exiting the venue. The food, service, and atmosphere all received top marks with a 5-star rating.

I went to this restaurant on my birthday with my family and had an absolutely lovely couple of hours. The staff were polite and attentive but not overwhelming. I particularly enjoyed the parsnips, though I was a bit disappointed that you had to pay extra for them as a side dish. The food overall was excellent. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5.

Disappointed. I've eaten here many times and really didn't expect the chef to cheap-out on the steak and kidney pudding. The pudding and gravy was delicious but it contained not one bite of steak, little kidney and A LOT of grissle. The so-called cheesecake was poor too, bought frozen from a wholesaler no doubt. Service was excellent though, as it usually is. Just a shame the chef isn't as professional as the waiter. Price per person: £20–30 View menu

Very disappointed. Have been here many times and have always enjoyed it. The menu has changed and unfortunately not for the better. The lovely menu has gone along with the specials board. Menu used to include dishes such as sea bass and salmon along with classical dishes such as sausages and mash and liver and bacon. It has now been replaced with scampi and chips, pizzas and burgers. Not the lovely traditional pub that it once was. Unfortunately no longer for us.

This pub has lost its spark since it changed hands. The table service is slow (and just plain ignorant during our recent visit), the interior drab uninspiring, and the food average at best. It's one of the few gastropubs for miles around, so they know that customers will still come. But as a resident of the village that used to rely on this place for get-togethers and celebration dinners, we're now going further afield to much safer bets. Price per person: £30–40

"I booked originally for 6pm and had to change to 6:30pm due to traffic. I hadn’t confirmed The new booking so the host could not find a booking for us. It was my father’s birthday and I was really worried I had messed it up. The host, was fine and was still able to get us seated, we were very pleased with that. We were given a choice of tables, and as a larger guest, I was able to be seated comfortably. We’re we’re served by Tom. S ,for the evening. OMG! What a charming and delightful waiter. He was attentive, had great banter and held a wonderful conversation, wished my father a happy birthday, and tended to my wine being filled up all evening. He made us feel wonderful, and made me feel like a million dollars. The food was absolutely superb, French onion soup was perfectly seasoned, the croutons were Devine along with a salty cheese. Loaded with sweet onions: The liver parfait my husband had was delicious he said. My dad and husband had the beef bourguignon, and I had the chicken, gratin with a side of dauphinois potatoes… Again… absolutely perfect. The service here was top notch, and Tom.S made our first experience at Côte the best. He is a first class waiter, that I would compare to the the likes of The Ritz and The Savoy. Fantastic personality, and very well groomed and presented. What a fabulous and marvellous team member you have there. Cherish that! We will definitely return, and recommend this restaurant highly. 5 Service from Tom.S and the chef."
