"Walked in to buy some pastries which were positioned to the side by the entrance. I was almost immediately asked whether I wanted to eat in or take away; on replying that I wanted to take food away I was ordered to wait at the till which had no food on display and from which you couldn’t see any of the aforementioned pastries. I was then asked what I wanted and when I replied that I wasn’t sure given I had effectively been told not to look was meet with a bemused stare and had a menu, which contained pretty much only hot food, shoved my way. I started to order from what I recalled they had and was half way through (as I was ordering for others that weren’t with me at the time) when all of a sudden I had card machine flung towards me by a completely different member of staff. Had they been jammed I would have ever so slightly forgiven their attitude but I was the only individual in the queue at the time. I’d suggest the staff in question reconsider their suitability to a career in customer service; from my experience it’s not their forte. Won’t be returning and if you don’t intend on sitting down to eat would suggest that you don’t either."

"We've eaten here in the past when we go to visit an elderly relative in West Bay. On this occasion, we ate at 6.30 on a Tuesday evening. The pub was moderately busy, but it was a wet and windy night! We both had fish and chips which was okay. Portion size was adequate, but if you're a big, hungry man, it wouldn't necessarily be enough. Fish was quite nice, but chips a little underwhelming in my opinion. What I found extremely annoying was the addition of a 10% service charge automatically applied to the bill. It wasn't even mentioned by the member of staff. I always get it removed. If I want to add a tip, I will decide how much, not the restaurant thank you very much!!! My husband was slightly surprised when I paid the bill as it was. He queried it when we were outside, and I said I had paid the service charge because they had missed of a pint of beer and a large glass of red, so it was reasonable value, and one up to me! We won't return in the future."

"This is a great pub just outside Mold. Top place to sit outside and enjoy a few drinks in the sun. Equally as good for a family gathering or food with friends. The food is pretty good. The smoked salmon tortellini was really fresh and light. The ham and cheese croquettes, a bit heavy on the ham and low on the cheese, were slightly large for a croquette but still tasted fine. The chicken, ham and leek pie was delicious. Served with a buttery mash, greens, a carrot and a nice white wine and tarragon sauce. The service was really helpful and friendly. Worth a visit!"

"We had booked a table for two but they seemed surprised to see us. Eventually got seated, watched the table next to us have their starters and another table finish dessert and pay and leave … while we waited for them to take our order. ONE HOUR AFTER ARRIVING they finally took our order. Too late by then for starters we opted for a main meal and drinks. It arrived reasonably quickly but was uninspiring. Yes they gave us a free mocktail we were both driving) but other than that it was very disappointing. And to add insult to injury, when we left, the group of waiting staff gathered near the exit couldn’t even be bothered to acknowledge us, affirming to us the staff ARE miserable and can’t be bothered with a paying customer. We will not visit again!"

"My partner and I had a takeaway delivery from this restaurant today and I must say we were not disappointed. The food was freshly cooked, the rolls had a perfect crust, and the breakfast baguette was delicious and packed with flavor! And those cheesy chips were absolutely amazing - the cheese was so tasty. "I often pop in Eddie's Cafe for lunch when I am working in the area and it never dissapoints. Great value for money, fast and friendly service and I've always been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The ham and mushroom omelette I had most recently had was very tasty. "Appalling!!! Down from Birmingham for birthday weekend and decided to eat here as reviews looked good. On arrival, the waitress told us to firstly order drinks before being seated after asking if we could just sit down to wat as hungry she told us we must pay at bar for the buffet first (never have I paid for food before eating it and I will not make this mistake agsin) we did and sat down. The starter selection was of poor choice, and once seated to eat the food was luke warm. When we went up for the main which I thought would be abit warmer due to curry 's being available the selection of food on offer was again very miminal. I am also vegetarian and apart from 2 mushroom options (I don 't like myshrooms) I decided to raise my issues with the waitress who said I would need to speak to the manager. The manager came to the table and did not appreciate the concerns I raised with him over the food but said he would accommodate me and make something out back. I requested fried rice and vegetable curry, what came to the table was boiled rice that felt like yesterday 's food and a bowl of vegetable curry which I 'm sure was just vegetables taken from the buffet and then added to curry sauce and again was luke warm in temperature. I was so unhappy I raised my concerns with the manager, when asking for a refund his response was 'well you 've been watched going to the buffet several times I absolutely had not, I had a small plate of the luke warm starters and then couldn 't find anything at the mains hence why I originally complained. He told me that he had accommodated me which again he had not again luke warm unfried rice with thrown together curry. And that the tills were locked so would not be issuing a refund but food and drinks were still being paid for. His attitude was so poor. My boyfriend asked if he could just refund my food as this was a birthday meal that had been spoiled (not sure how my boyfriend managed to eat a few platefuls of the food he didn 't want to make a fuss and was just hungry) and the manager was just not having it. I told him poor his customer service skills were and that I would be writing a poor review he told me to simply 'go on then '. The reason I am so passionate about leaving my reviews about this poor place is that later on that night I vomited all of the vegetable curry up (I am early pregnant also) I dread to think what they did to my 'specially made food out the back '. My I add that my boyfriend who managed to eat a few platefuls of food felt fine. I have never complained about anywhere I 've eaten out but this place deserves a special mention and I just hope people do not waste their money here!! I have also contacted food standard agency regarding the matter"

"I recently had dinner at this winery with a friend and it turned out to be a wonderful evening. The highlight was the wine tasting experience with the incredibly knowledgeable sommelier who knew everything about wines and their histories. The prices for the high-quality wines were very reasonable, which was great. The food also impressed me with its top-quality Italian ingredients. As an Italian myself, I finally found a place I can trust for good, simple dishes that make me happy. I can't stop thinking about the semolina pizza and ham and cheese plate - you have to try them to understand. Thank you to the staff, I will definitely be back soon."

"Haven’t been in a while due to Covid, but found that, if anything, the food is even better than we remembered! The salmon quiche was superb with a wonderful flaky crust, while hubby’s pulled BBQ pork sandwich was wolfed down before I could grab a taste he said it was delicious. Both came with lovely crispy skinny fries, salad and slaw. Had to have dessert too because they looked amazing, and they didn’t disappoint! Nice coffee too. Not to mention that the owner is friendly and a great hostess. Has got to be the best place for lunch and dessert in Bourne!"

"Gails Kitchen serves some pretty darn good food for a relatively good price. The place is owned by the famous Gails Bakery and was recently awarded the Michelins Bib Gourmand 2014. The food is inspired by bread and bread oven that was transferred from Gails Artisan Bakery. The food is all about sharing as each plate comes in a sharing size portion. "My wife and i popped in here shortly after arriving in york for the weekend what a great find this cafe is. My choice was a halloumi and hummus burger with salad and potato wedges, it was freshly cooked and ever so tasty. My wife had a halloumi and mushroom wrap and was equally delighted. We both said how full we were afterwards, the price with drinks was £13 for us both fantastic value for money. Matt is a very friendly host, informative and approachable. Will be back for what looks like a fantastic breakfast selection."
