"The food was excellent and the drinks were generous in size, but unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our group of 25 people had 3 tables that were adequate for us to sit at and chat, but we were not allowed to move or switch seats, which was inconvenient. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to join us at our tables and were instead sent to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were also told that the bill would be split evenly among the tables, but later discovered that food from one table had been added to another table's bill, causing confusion during payment. The staff spoke rudely to some of our guests when they tried to join full tables, instructing them to sit at an empty table instead. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future."

"just after the reopening it was not sure how it would be. you go in, get your temperature scanned and you sit when you come by (I don't know what happens when your attempt looks suspicious). we sit on them between tables with people who are not really looking for a safe distance. we wanted to try the scrambled eggs and cornish crab however due to the reduction of the available items, this was not on the menu, but if we asked for it, our waiter went into the kitchen and got them to make it. they would highly recommend for their quality of food and first class service!"

"After dining at this restaurant multiple times, I made a reservation for dinner with three friends and was extremely let down by the decline in quality. The cocktails lacked flavor, the wine was tasteless, and all the food was overly salty. The lemon sole was overcooked, the butter sauce tasted burnt instead of nutty. The aubergine main dish was small and lacked flavor, more suitable as a starter. The halloumi main was bland and the sole goujons were lukewarm at best. The dessert, rhubarb frangipane, tasted like a subpar Bakewell tart with minimal rhubarb, and the Balthazar coupe was overly sweet. At a price of £270, this meal was far too expensive for the subpar quality. I am unsure if there has been a change in management at this restaurant, but I was truly disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended it to my friends. I will not be returning or suggesting this restaurant to others in the future."

"we came to the brunch on vatertag and it was just such a beautiful experience! we arrived and were directly shown to a table and very warmly welcomed. the waitress asked if we had visited before when we told her we had not explained about the special board and brought us water. we ordered hot chocolates and the waitress friendly offered to make special small for our three years old twins. they were amazing! my man ordered the steak, I ordered the vegetarian breakfast, and we ordered pancakes for our 8-year-old and to share a part between the twins. we also ordered sweet potato wedges. eating was hot and really, really delicious. the veggie breakfast was the best I had, my man loved the steak and the children loved the pancakes. we were also offered courtesy for the children, as eating had taken a little longer to arrive as it was busy what the children were tied about! the parts of the pancakes were huge, we had ordered a part between the three! we were in a well-known American bbq restaurant a few weeks earlier, which was not a great experience, but this was so different and really was great! the service and eating were easy. we would recommend and come back!"

"I loved ciao burger and recommended her friends, but now live outside of bristol and am rare in this part of the city. I took my daughter today and shaved all the way over the promise of a Fab...burger, horrified! the extra taste, blue cheese, was not present and the burger dry and boring ... can not tell them how disappointed I was, and she could not see clearly what it was about the fuss? at £13 for two burgers and a part of the chips, not worth it. dry and tasteless, they can and used to do better! the shop was not busy, so there is no excuse. sad, so disappointed by a burger, but it was a fun reminder pampered, please try who they were earlier"

The waitress outside the front (we were seated in the patio/outside section) was really friendly and helpful. I ordered a starter portion of prawn tacos and the way in was prepared was not what I was expecting (not due to the kitchen's fault, just my expectation). I mentioned this to the waitress and I guess the manager (not 100% sure who the man was that I spoke to) and they kindly altered the dish for me so that I could enjoy it more! "my daughter and I went to san carlo on New Year's day my daughter had booked a table for 3.30 pm, it was very busy when we were there. we were asked if we had booked and we said yes, there were three people in front of us who had not booked and got one table. my daughter and I were sent down and had to wait 20 minutes, then we sat down. the hire of the staff there was not good, the only person that seemed to disturb was the dame that took the money. will be a long time before I went back there, I was appalled."

Bit concerned that only one cask ale on, but loads of slightly pricier craft stuff. Once sat at our table we were told of a new to share dish colossus! Made up of 1/4 chickens, pork ribs, bed rib and pulled pork, great choice. Portions were huge and all of the meat flavoured and cooked to perfection. BBQ doesn't get much better than this. "I made a reservation at this restaurant for Sunday lunch at 4pm, as I had been there before and had a pleasant experience. However, when we arrived, we were informed that the restaurant was busy and running late. They also mentioned that they had run out of roast beef, so we had to settle for roast chicken instead. After waiting for an hour, we were finally served. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing - the vegetables were undercooked and cold, and there was not much meat on the chicken bones. What was there was dry. Sadly, we do not plan on returning anytime soon. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly."
