"last week I received a invitation from the castle hotel in frederick street north to try to get her restaurant, the old music shop, which was opened almost recently. since I was still interested in rediscovering the “forgeted” north side and bringing it to you, I accepted and came this week with a big trailer of the blog and a very good German friend jonathan Maccumhaill-Binrosli is a hotelier of the 3rd generation who learned the business from his father while he learned it from his tante. the castle hotel should be the oldest in dublin, but now it belongs to the family for 30 years. it is between this atmosphere of tradition, in which jonathan, helped by his man, opened the...more"

Cosy place with classic decoration around that brings you to 80's and makes you feel part of royal family having tea and little pastries. Staff nice and polite.

After passed by the door many times and think This restaurant is very cute today I decided to try the Old Music Shop. It's a very nice option for who likes different and healthy food. I tried the chicken and mushroom pie with wild rice and vegetables and it was very good. The decoration is very old fashion, very beautiful what makes the place very comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like was the service. I was expecting a little more smiley people. But maybe it was just a day.

I got the veggie the afternoon the gurke and cream cheese sambos were fab, but the roated red pfeffer and I think feta cheese (i hope it was lol) sambos were the most beautiful I tasted. I also loved the scones reminded me of the nannas she did when I was a child. my 7 yr old sohn loved the hot chocolate, he said ve suppge was the best he ever tasted (and he is not the biggest for veg) he also wurst the kiddys and chips and my heart, there was eating and drinking on him. he insists that we come back to this little gem and we will most defoam how we live 5 minutes to ground. Thanks again.

even if the restaurant was not busy, we were waiting to sit on the old one. After we waited for the old to get a menu and finally demand drinks, we got plastic cups and no crippled water or real glasses. I commanded chicken wings and never tasted such a tartsoße in my whole life. the guiness stew was ok. at least if the service was good...search a scandal that the service is so bad, the facility in the building is beautiful and the location is great. at the end of the dinner we tried to say goodbuy to the waitress who totally ignored us, we regretted that we have tipped them. no very good experience, would not go back there.

Well, I can't do a proper review, as I only ate here a few times for the included-in-the-hotel-package (the hotel being the Castle, which also has the Castle Vaults pub below it) breakfast, which was all right, though nothing stood out. Zomato won't let me add a photo without a review, though, and I'm trying to up my points, so lets have a go! They had scrambled eggs, instead of the usual hotel rubbery fried, so that was pleasant, and the staff and service were quite good, if a trifle harried with all the bleary tourists. Their regular menu looks worth trying, and the baked goods looked enticing. Try em, let me know what you think!

Waltons moved their North Frederick Street store to Blanchardstown back in August 2013. The premises has banished its musical past and embraced a cooking future instead. All that remains of Waltons are the letters which spell out its name on a wall over seating in one section of the restaurant which has taken its place The menu is diverse enough not to be limiting and has a mix of fish, chicken, steak, salads and pastas. Neither of us were overly hungry when we visited so knew we would concentrate more on the main course than a starter or dessert. As a result we opted to share a starter of breads and dips 4.50). A selection of fresh baked breads with a trio of dips....read more
