"Avoid this restaurant if you have a gluten allergy. My partner and I came here for breakfast this morning after seeing online that they have many gluten free options. I informed the server of my allergy and asked about gluten free options. The server with red hair was helpful and explained the gluten free choices. We both ordered the full breakfast, one gluten free and one regular. However, when our meals arrived, they looked identical. My gluten free meal included items like haggis, black pudding, and potato scone, which typically contain gluten. When I asked the server to double check the gluten content, he removed the potato scone with his hands and assured me it was now safe to eat. I insisted on knowing if the haggis and black pudding were gluten free as well, and asked for a new plate. Despite my concerns, the server only removed the scone and insisted that the rest of the meal was safe. Feeling unsafe, I decided to cancel my order and left. My partner enjoyed his regular breakfast, but I will not be returning due to the lack of understanding and care for my gluten allergy."

"I'd completely agree with the other review, its hit and miss for the price they charge. The food is generally very good, and more often than not worth"

"We booked a family meal for 11, admittedly the morning of going. The lady that worked there was so unbelievably rude we couldn’t quite believe it. As soon as we were seated she told us what roasts they had left and made a huge deal of ‘saving these’ for us. Her exact words were ‘I could have sold these hours ago’. Whilst that was kind, we were told this repeatedly. The food itself was enjoyable until we asked for an extra small jug of gravy which was like asking for her kidney! My mum asked a lady behind the bar if she could get a drink in for my brother (In our village this is normal but perhaps not here), the member of staff readily agreed and took the money. When it come to getting the drink, the rude lady said that they did not do that there. My mum explained that she did wonder however the girl had agreed and taken payment. The lady advised that that particular member of staff had gone home, luckily another member of staff had witnessed this. The rude lady then made a huge point about how lucky we were as she would not usually allow this.To sum up, the food was great, especially for the reasonable price however the lady who appeared as the boss was so rude we will not be coming back!"

"I'm not sure if it was the fault of the booking app or the restaurant, but I made a reservation for a table for two for my girlfriend and myself. We live far apart due to work, so we don't see each other as often as we'd like. We had planned to have a romantic Valentine's meal at this restaurant on the 15th. However, when our taxi pulled up outside, the restaurant was dark and closed with no signs of life. We had never been there before and were looking forward to it, so it was disappointing that the place was not open despite our reservation being confirmed. We ended up going to Prezzo and sat next to a table of 20 people instead. It was a letdown."

"Was lovely visiting, staff very friendly. Food was a major let down. I had the roast beef dinner and it had no flavour, the roast potatoes were undercooked and the veg wasn’t very nice either I think because the gravy maybe was overpowering The starter was pretty nice I had the salt and chilli chicken Dessert was disappointing had the sticky toffee, the portion was too big, toffee sauce not very sweet and the sponge appeared to have no dates which is important for sticky toffee. Overall I was very disappointed as this wasn’t my first time here. I previously attended mid week for dinner and the food was excellent so I recommended it and now I regret that decision as this time round I had to send the food back"

"A lovely coffee/tea shop. Becky and her staff work tirelessly to meet the demanding needs of hungry, thirsty cyclists. It’s the best coffee stop in the area and serves beautiful homemade cakes and for the hungrier, a full English. Keep up the good work Becky you make many cyclists very happy!!"

"As an Indian buffet The World Banquet could do fairly well, everything else just seems like an after thought. It's probably a great place for families, but if you want a great curry or Chinese then you're better off seeking an alternative. All too often when a restaurant attempts too many things it will achieve mediocre results, too many cuisines kills the chef."

"our only little disappointment was the fact that we were not in the room with the open fire. otherwise the service was friendly and punctual; the Sunday roast lunch was very good and excellent for the cost. the general atmosphere was relaxed, but polite. we will, fortunately, visit again when in the opposite."

"We visited these tea rooms on the 23rd of September on the way home from Yorkshire, we ordered 3 cooked breakfasts, 2 lattes and a decaf tea, we had to wait a very long time for the food and when it arrived most of it was cold when we mentioned this to the lady serving she said it was because she had to leave the door open for the customers to come in and the draft was getting in the kitchen but the kitchen was nowhere near the door, also when we got home we noticed we had been charged for the drinks but the menus said tea and coffee came with the breakfast so we should have been told if certain drinks for example decaf tea were extra, The lady serving mentioned that they had only been there 3 days but this no excuse for cold food, We will not be returning"

"I would highly recommend this place to anyone! Food was unreal but the service, the service was something unseen, the staff actually care that you are happy, I was chatting with the owner Liam, and even though the place was busy, he chatted to me about lots of stuff. Really took the time to make us feel comfortable and like we where the only people in the restaurant. We will definitely be back"

"Had a table with a view of an amazing sunset over Margate harbour arm. Not much ambiance in the restaurant as only 2 tables were occupied. Our waiter was very obliging and patient. Starters were tasty. My mains rack of lamb was perfectly cooked as the chef really listened to how I wanted it cooked. My husbands baked aubergines were under cooked unfortunately. Desserts were delicious. Strange that there was no fish on the menu, and the wine list was quite limited. However, will definitely return and will recommend to friends."

"We sat down at 6:05, and there was only one other couple there who were just placing their orders. They ordered a starter and a main course, and we ordered our main course a couple of minutes later. The couple received their starter, enjoyed it, and we expected our main courses to arrive shortly after. However, that didn’t happen! Once their plates were cleared, they were served their main courses while we continued to wait. It wasn't until 6:50 that we finally got our food. I'm confused by this; it felt as though we were being penalized for not ordering a starter. Is this how restaurants typically operate? The meal itself was lovely when it finally arrived, but the overall experience was quite disappointing."

"I went to the Broken Dock on Saturday, October 23rd, with a few friends. We decided to order two Proper Breakfasts and two Eggs Royale, accompanied by plenty of coffee to help us recover from the previous night. The service was outstanding; the staff were incredibly friendly. As for the food? Wow, it was incredible! The thick-cut bacon had a slight smoky flavor and was absolutely divine. When they say "thick cut," they truly mean it! Everything on the plate was cooked to perfection. The black pudding was delicious, and the mushrooms had just the right hint of vinegar. I'm practically salivating as I write this—it was genuinely that good! It was the perfect way to start the day!"

"We booked a reservation, turned up, got told they’re ere closed the kitchen was closed, showed our booking confirmation and they said they would happily seat us (we triple checked as we didn’t want to keep them past hours), they rushed us to order, they took half the plates away whilst the others were still eating, put the bill down without us asking for it and then to top it all off opened the door (it was cold) so we would get cold and leave which was so so rude we were shocked never actually had worse service. We confronted how awful they were and no apologies. Food was average at best too needs a staff rejig I reckon"

"The food here is delicious! However I 'm not sure if there was a staff shortage issue or something but most of the staff seemed flustered and had other priorities. The biggest issue for my was that we had hoped to have a nice early dinner before going to a comedy show and we were placed in a loud directly under a very loud speaker. The stools at our table were basically the same height as the table which would have been fine if we had only been drinking. We asked who I assume was the manager if we could have different chairs and he said it 's busy we don 't have anymore chairs, we 're an Irish pub He did manage to get us one chair and as one group left we were able to swap the second stool for another. On a whole, it wasn 't the worst dining experience but for 2 people with and 80 quid bill it would have been nice not to have felt like an inconvenience. A real shame as the food is top notch but maybe give it a miss if you 're wanting a bit more of a dining experience rather than a quick bite."
