"Used to stop here for the great bacon rolls. Previous stop realised that they had changed the bacon, not so streaky and fattier so decided to ask for poached eggs on brown toast. Waited for some time and eventually served at the table with brown bread resembling cardboard and 2 hard boiled , but supposedly poached eggs! Spoke to a young lady who was table serving and asked who would have carried out the “poaching ” which she admitted being responsible. It was pointed out to her that poached eggs should not be hard boiled and that we were very disappointed. She offered to get the manager to come and see us. Few minutes later a young man came through and immediately accused us of being nasty to the lady. He was advised that we were perfectly within our rights to point out the failing and in no way had we been nasty. At this point the lady came over, had obviously been crying, and was asked by us if we had been nasty to which she replied no and apologised. The young man was advised that if he wished to speak to his customers he should get the facts straight before making such accusations. He was also asked where the manager was and replied that he was busy in the kitchen so wasn’t coming out to speak to us. The restaurant at this time was almost empty. It was pointed out that this was a terrible lack of appreciation to his customers and we left. It was also observed that on several occasions the young lads that were carrying through plates with buns there on were holding the buns on the plate with their fingers, total lack of hygiene. Won’t be back!"

"This charming little tea room features incredibly helpful and friendly staff who are more than willing to accommodate nutritional needs by modifying the menu. The food is delightful, and the prices are quite reasonable. In the entrance area, you can purchase local products, including jams, honey, and a variety of cakes and cookies. The nearby farm shop offers a wide selection of products and plants, as you might expect in a quaint setting. We even brought back one of the handmade garden tractor windmills that can only be found here. Overall, it's a fantastic place that we can't wait to return to for tea and cake!"

"Dining Experience: Dinner Cost per Person: £10–20 Food Rating: 3/5 Service Rating: 3/5 Atmosphere Rating: 2/5 I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner, and overall, my experience was average. The pricing was reasonable, falling within the £10–20 range per person. The food was satisfactory, earning a rating of 3 out of 5; it was decent, but nothing particularly stood out. The service was also a 3 out of 5—adequate, but not particularly attentive or memorable. Unfortunately, the atmosphere left much to be desired, with a rating of just 2 out of 5. It felt a bit lacking in ambiance and energy, which detracted from the overall experience. While it was a decent meal, I likely wouldn't rush back for a repeat visit."

"Darren has just started doing 2 4 1 pizza on a Thursday so we decided to nip in tonight. The service was warm and friendly, the pub was cosy, the ambience was lovely, the drinks were spot on and most of all the pizza was to die for and unbelievable value. Can’t recommend highly enough!!"

"My wife and I recently dined at the Horse and Jockey @Norwood House in Pave Lane near Newport, Shropshire for Sunday Lunch. This wasn't our first visit to this establishment as we have enjoyed their food and drinks on multiple occasions. We always keep an eye on their Facebook page to see what the starters will be for the Sunday Lunch menu. The Horse and Jockey @Norwood House consistently posts a new and unique menu for Sunday Lunch every midweek on their Facebook page. We particularly enjoyed the delicious soups, including the Chicken and Mushroom varieties. The main courses offer a choice of meat dishes with a variety of fresh vegetables and different types of potatoes - you would need a huge appetite to finish everything on your plate! The prices are very reasonable and Sharon, the co-manager and cook, ensures that customers leave satisfied and full. The serving staff are friendly and accommodating. The bar offers up to six real ales, with a regular turnover of guest beers due to their small barrels of beer. Overall, we highly recommend the Sunday Lunches at the Horse and Jockey @Norwood House for a delightful dining experience."

"A bit disappointed. I was expecting more based on the reviews. The quantity on each of the meals is poor but the quality is even worst, usually turkish are very tasted, nice and soft chicken and lamb, these were not even average. It was the worst turkish we have ever tried and we have tried many. The other thing I'd like to highlight is the cleaning, the toilets and the restaurant in general are not what you can expect in terms of cleaning."

"This pub is the perfect place to unwind after a trek up Snowdon! They have their own microbrewery on-site, brewing a variety of ales and stouts. Our group sampled all of them and enjoyed every sip. While I'm not a fan of beer myself, my friends highly recommend them. The most popular one seemed to be Carmen Sutra, but my boyfriend also enjoyed a golden brew and Carmen's Pulling Power. The pub is spacious with multiple rooms, making it perfect for large groups. They serve classic comfort food such as scampi and chips, roast dinners, and pies. While it may not be the absolute best pub fare, it is satisfying - especially after a rainy mountain climb! The staff are friendly, and I've visited twice after climbing Snowdon. I'll definitely be back if we explore other hikes in the area. Overall, I'm a fan of this place."

"This is a gem of a place. Food is as always very good with more than generous portions .Super friendly staff and spotlessly clean. Our granddaughter was given a free hand to choose where she would like to go for dinner and as quick as a flash she says Horse Shoe Cafe. There is no better recommendation. 5 all the way."

"We called the restaurant 2h before as we were visiting a friend close by and they managed to get us is! I am so pleased to have visited this restaurant! The ambience and decor is great and this is equally matched by the friendly and attentive staff. We chose the squid and olives for nibbles (no pic, we ate too quickly) the squid was the best! We then enjoyed the burrata, soup and goats cheese. The burrata was a very large portion and I was unable to finish it lovely all the same. We then all ordered the Sirloin Sunday roast, and WOW this was one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve had. The slices were like steaks, there was a great variety of vegetables and we struggled to leave any! There was a little while of a wait between starters and mains and it would have been nice to have been asked if we would have liked any more drinks in between this. However, they were busy and it’s not deterred me from returning. The prices are on the higher side but this married up with the quality. Thank you and I look forward to coming back!"

"we just moved up here after the food service. we have starved. in the beer garden we had drinks and a package craps. it was so nice, on a afternoon we stayed for a few drinks and then the chef came back from her break and offered us a meal. fantastic. we both had the wagyu steak, it was nicely cooked and I would go back for more. we also had a bottle of wine, could not damage the quality. the personal was beautiful and we were made to feel very welcome, including our dog. thanks for a nice afternoon"

"My wife and I had a choice of places to eat so gave Ken 's a shot as it looked out onto the river. We were met by two lovely young ladies named Chloe and Grace, very chatty and friendly, we were so impressed with their talkative nature we stayed longer having a great time. What a refreshing couple of girls they were. We had 'Ken 's Special the cod was our choice and a good one at that. Totally recommend Ken 's Traditional Fish and Chips. the food and service was excellent.Well done to Chloe and Grace, you made us feel very welcome, a credit to today 's younger generation.Thank you, Gary and Marion. could be worth a second visit??"
