"Lovely setting. Heard good things about the food but it was disappointing. Had Sunday roast beef and it was cold, everything was under done. I feel that maybe it was rushed through and not quite ready to serve. I like my veg al dente but this was almost raw, I couldn’t get my knife through the cauliflower cheese and the roast potatoes were hard on the inside and barely crispy on the outside. Gravy was nice. Shame as lovely pub and staff were pleasant. I did let the waiting staff know at the start of the meal and the end but there was no effort to put it right or offer a discount they just apologised and said they’d feedback to the kitchen. I wouldn’t rush to go back but I’d like to try it again in the summer months as looks like a lovely place to sit outside in the sunshine."

"Bletchley Park is Britain's best kept secret, The Wheatsheaf Pub and Grill, must be the second. Having lived locally all my life, I had never been in this establishment till over a week ago. Now I've been twice in seven days. The food, service, beer and atmosphere are all first class. Don't just drive past, but call in and experience this well run and pleasant venue. As an added bonus, pick up the free Emerald Loyalty Card for further discount and reductions on orders (T C's apply). Bow Brickhill is positioned on the southern side of Milton Keynes and close to Woburn, Woburn Sands and Woburn Golf Course. The Wheatsheaf is within a short walk from the railway station and sits on the main road through this small village hamlet. Ideal for any walking party with the famous Green Sand Ridge and woods running along Milton Keynes southern perimeter. Finally. Thank You to Emma and her team for a lovely family gathering and meal. Definitely my first choice for further meet ups. Doug Family"

"Me and my family decided to have a meal at the bank house as we saw on Instagram they had a Prix Fixe Menu and we are currently on holiday in Kings Lynn. We had a lovely meal at the bank house last year and when we saw the menu of 2 course for £16 and 3 courses for £20 advertised, we thought this was such a good deal! However, we arrived at the Bank House and when seated we’re only given the normal menu. I then asked the waitress if we could have the Prix Fixe Menu. The waitress then said we don’t do that and a lot of people have been asking about that. I then said to the waitress that it was posted on their instagram six days ago and then reposted two days ago. The waitress then said oh I don’t think it’s on today and I then mentioned how it said that it’s from Monday to Friday from 12pm to 6pm. The waitress then said she will go and ask the manger. They then came back and said that it shouldn’t have been posted yet due to issues with the chef and said they we won’t be offended if we leave. We decided to look at the menu but then left to eat somewhere else after feeling disappointed. I do feel that they should remove the posts advertising for the Prix Fixe Menu (on Instagram and I presume on Facebook too) as it could encourage people to book but then to found out it doesn’t actually exist and may be too embarrassed to leave. Also this is a bit unfair on people who may be on a budget who are looking for a nice meal as a family treat. Hopefully they can sort this issue out as it would’ve been lovely to try this menu, but it should be taken down as it is still posted on instagram."

"Many years ago too many) I visited The French Horn with my wife but at that time you were not sure if it was a Pub or Restaurant, Boy has that changed, Great Food served on hot plates..Great friendly service and the young man serving us understood the needs of myself and my guests all of us over 75. The food arrived spot on and quickly which surprised us seeing as the Restaurant was rammed. We all had the Sunday Roast Beef £17.50) which included Cauliflower Cheese..Vegetables..and 3 or 4 slices Beef..excellent Roast Potatoes along with plenty of other veg. Timothy Taylor at £4.70..Stella.£5.00 followed by Coffee at £2.50 and £3.45 Latte the bill for the 3 meals and extras was £73.15 more than acceptable having had an exceptional meal. A really cosy efficient Pub with friendly staff. We will return to what, in my opinion, is the Best Sunday Lunch in the Alton area. Thank uou very much"

"Being local and retired, I try most places from Coltishall to Gorleston, Reedham to Wroxham, on a regular basis. I come here every Thursday for breakfast. Often on other days, when my wife can join me, we have lunch together. Friends have joined us on yet other occasions. We have frequented State and Willow for around two years. The reason is, we look for quality food, quality service and reasonable prices. Staithe and Willow never fail. The owners bend over backwards to accommodate everyones needs. The charm of the place and the staff, invigorates us every time. Whether its Eggs Benedict, English Breakfast, Fish and chips or Sunday roast, sat inside the quaint cottage or outside in the pretty 'bistro style ' garden, with or without your dog, you 're on a winner here."

"The food selection is extremely limited, so if you have children, it's not worth going. We spent a lot of money and left feeling hungry. I'm sure tapas in London is cheaper than 8 pounds for such small dishes. If you're just looking to have a drink and an olive, then it's fine, but for a family meal, it's hard to find something that everyone will enjoy. Tapas is supposed to be Spanish street food, not priced like a fancy London restaurant. We won't be returning."

"--- I recently had lunch at this restaurant and wanted to share my thoughts. The overall experience was enjoyable, with the atmosphere being the standout feature—definitely a 5 out of 5. The ambiance was vibrant and inviting, making it a great place to relax. As for the food, it was decent but didn’t quite blow me away; I'd give it a rating of 3. While the dishes were generally good, they lacked that extra flair that would make them truly memorable. On a more positive note, the service was commendable, earning a solid 4. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed during our meal. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, especially for the ambiance and service, but there’s room for improvement in the food department."

"Been many times before ,however the last two visits havnt been to the usual high standards. No Fish and Chips at 7.30 on a Saturday evening. Ordered Chicken Kiev took over half an hour to arrive . Chips were totally over cooked tasted like reheated ,Chicken bland . Wife's Steak was OK however Rosti didn't taste freshly cooked as neither did the ratatouille side . Not the quality expected for the price . Price per person: £50–60"

"Young chap with blonde hair (don't know his name) behind the bar was very nice. We went 2 nights in succession, once in the restaurant, once in the bar area. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. There was a tv which was thankfully off and background music which was just that, so good for us. It was tastefully decoated and furnished. Overall ambience of upmarket and quality. The weather was abominable and we went at night so can't comment on the outside. We didn't use the toilets. We would certainly return."

"Andrew also clearly explained the ordering process and mentioned that we could use the app if we were uncomfortable ordering at the bar, which was very accommodating. He checked on us two or three times during our meal, remaining polite and friendly throughout. Once we ordered our food, we took a moment to appreciate our surroundings. The restaurant had a clean and comfortable atmosphere, with beautifully decorated tables and dust-free artwork adorning the walls. It was evident that the owner takes great pride in the establishment, and that pride extends to the kitchen as well. The food took about 30 minutes to arrive, which reinforced our expectations of freshness and quality from the moment we entered. The fish and chips were absolutely incredible – the best we've had in a long time. The fish was perfectly crispy, the batter was evenly cooked and flavorful, and the fish was wonderfully flaky. The chips were also great, although the double portion looked almost identical to the single portion since we planned to share it; we found that the servings were more similar than we expected. Overall, we enjoyed excellent service and high-quality food throughout our meal, leaving us satisfied even into the following morning. I've already recommended this place to my family and friends, and I plan to make it a regular stop. Thank you, Andrew, and the entire team – Andrew deserves a raise!"
"We've been here many a time however today's will probably be the last. We didn't have a reservation but we're able to get a table saying how busy it was. We ordered drinks and food pretty quickly. We noted that there were 3 people taking orders and 1 behind the bar, this resulted in drinks being poured then sat at the bar. We eventually got drinks after around 6/7 mins of them being sat on the bar. We noted that there were not enough staff. Drinks were piling up on the bar, food was sitting on the pass waiting to go out and people were queuing by the entrance to be seated. The staff just couldn't cope. I wouldn't even try ringing no one answers it even when they are standing next to it doing nothing either. After 45 mins of waiting for food and table next to us receiving their starter and then mains (ordered after us) we queried our food. We were told that we ordered after the table next to us and that it depends on what we order. I know this is incorrect as the person has allergies so the waitress went through what they could and couldn't eat. Also it shouldn't matter what you order it's when the order goes to the kitchen that matters. We were told we were next however 15 minutes later the food came. Don't get me wrong the pies are lovely however the pastry lids have changed and are no longer puff pastry more like flat uncooked lids. We won't be visiting anytime soon. There's a serious issue with service and there needs to be more staff. Having drinks sit on the bar for 10 minutes isn't good. Shame really could be a great place to visit"

"What can I say about Rico's? The best Italian restaurant I've ever been to and the most friendly staff you can get! I've been coming to Ricos in Poulton-le-Fylde for around 18 years now, and honestly, I've never had a bad experience or meal here. Ordered a Serloin Steak Diane for myself tonight and my mother got a Fillet Stilton. Both came with vegetables which were nice and crunchy and potatoes served with the Diane sauce which was absolutely amazing! Obviously accompanied by a lovely pint of peroni, or two! I will never stop coming to this fantastic Italian restaurant. It is 100% worth the money you pay! Not only that, I've been here to celebrate various birthdays and they always make you feel special, bringing out the instruments and a candle in a desert courtesy of the restaurant. Get yourselves there people, you won't regret it!"

"From the moment we entered The Bell, everything felt just right. The bar was lively, offering a great selection of ales. It was also dog-friendly, complete with a lovely personalized letter for our dog that included poop bags, toys, and treats. The staff were all delightful, and the location in the heart of the village couldn't be better. While the evening menu was somewhat limited, the food was outstanding, and breakfast was equally impressive. The quirky atmosphere added to the charm, as the dining room ceiling is supposedly supported by a column of books, and our room featured a tree and a barber's chair! Overall, it was a fantastic discovery, and it’s easy to see why it has received several awards!"
"We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn, and fortunately the associated Beefeater was fully booked, I asked for a bit of local guidance from the hotel reception, to be told that this pub is two minutes off site. A missed trick for many as we have used Beefeater many times before and have mainly been disappointed. The staff here are very welcoming, a great selection of good beers. We had a platter, followed by a lamb pie and a chicken chorizo pie. All very good pub standard food. The pies were particularly tasty. Good portion sizes and well presented. All in with two drinks £56. Nice atmosphere low music with an 80’s vibe."

"Really nice, had driven past a lot, didn't think it looked like much but finally went in and glad we did. It's bigger than it looks inside and out and the garden is enclosed and has a great play area with loads to keep kids busy. We sat at a booth inside and had great service. Good menu too and the food we ordered was with us reasonably quickly, well priced and delicious. Will be going back. Service: Dine in"

"I would have given a score of zero if I could! I visited The Swan while staying at a local Airbnb. Our first choice was The Crown and Horns, but they were closed due to flooding. We arrived at 6pm with a group of 6, ordered drinks at the bar, and then sat at our table. The waitress was pleasant but swore in front of us, which was inappropriate. She took our order at 6:30pm and our starters arrived at 7:15pm. The bread and olives were clearly from a jar and very vinegary, the king prawns in garlic butter were plain grilled prawns on white bread. The crispy squid was actually calamari, not squid. We had to wait until 8:15pm for our main meals. The steak and ale pie was awful, with cold tasteless mash, cabbage, and watery tasteless pie. The waitress took the meal back, microwaved it, and returned it 20 minutes later. The Sean burgers were disappointing, more like swamp burgers than fresh burgers as described. The lamb shank in red wine jus was served with cold mash and cabbage and lacked jus. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, we were told we still had to pay for the pie. The landlady was rude and hostile, even swearing about us at the bar. I understand that this is a small country pub, but I come from a similar village where the local pub offers great food and service. Do not waste your time and money at The Swan. They charge gastro pub prices for cheap roadside cafe food and service. We will not be returning. It was awful!"

"It's a pub with a long history and particularly the beams and the mural are amazing. The stuff is very knowledgeable about the history of the building and we enjoyed talking to her. The drink and the food was lovely, too."

"From all we'd read, this pub should be an ideal spot to eat dinner on a summer evening by the river. When we went there, it certainly looked ideal which is why we stopped and went to the bar to order food. For some bizarre reason, when the pub was far from busy, we were told there would be an hour's wait for food. This was at 8pm and they stopped serving food at 9pm so we weren't sure how that was going to work. An hour? When there was hardly anyone there? I guess that's why it was quiet... and also why people were sitting in their riverside beer garden eating fish chips from the chippy across the road. Which is where we went instead."

"When I booked a table for our Christmas meal in October I was told the Christmas menu had not yet been decided but there would be one. I heard nothing until the week before when someone from the pub rang to confirm our booking. They said that there would be no Christmas menu because we had not pre-ordered or paid a deposit but there would be options like duck a l’orange and rack of lamb. When we arrived the menu consisted of bought in Pie-Minster pies, hunters chicken and scampi and their homemade Pirate pies, which were supposed to be a take on the old Desperate Dan pies of old. 3 ordered the Pie-minster pies, which were nice. 2 of us ordered the Pirate pies which were supposed to be a meat and vegetable stew with pastry top. I don’t know how they did it but when they arrived they were scalding hot yet the chantenay carrots were raw or barely cooked. What little meat there was was tough as old boots. You even had to order chips as a side dish! How they had the nerve to charge £16.95 for that meal beggars belief. We used to go to the Little Pack Horse regularly before covid when the food used to be really good quality. If they don’t improve quickly they are doomed."
