Best lunchtime out for months. With our wheelchairs as well ...what a find

Lovely evening in traditional English pub. Nice atmosphere and good variety of food and drink on menu. Very accommodating to dietary requirements due to allergies.

We had a lovely stay at the French Horn. Nice room, excellent service, welcoming staff, and a splendid breakfast. We walked to Jane Austen's house from here. A bit outside the town centre, but easily reachable by bus.Highly recommended! View menu

Had a Sunday roast, the meat portion size was good, Yorkshire pudding good, everything else was very minimal, also there was to much gravy for my liking, so things got a bit soppy quickly, would much prefer it to come out in a gravy boat. But overall the taste was good just some things to consider.

It was as usual first class in every way this was one of my most memorable lunches with my friend who provided good conversation and the Horn providing the excellent food, this was a lunch I will remember for a long time. I know have a table which if available I choose each visit and the French Horne is my first choice in Alton for a meal.

Sunday roast was great. Portion sizes were spot on. Lovely decor and atmosphere. The servers were very friendly but a little confused asking if we required deserts when had ordered and had them already were just waiting for the bill. Update Friday 05th April 2924. I visited with my parents again (I don't live in Alton). We had the same meals as last time, the Horn fish pie and the chicken curry, which were once again, delicious. My Mum tried the Moss Forest cake which she really enjoyed. Harry is an exceptional waiter, really enthusiastic, professional and friendly. All the staff are very welcoming. Highly recommend. First review: I visited here with my parents a few weeks ago, this review is overdue. We had a warm welcome by a very friendly young man who was very attentive, despite being busy. We had a lovely lunch in a pleasant atmosphere and will definitely come back. If I lived closer I would go to their comedy night...

Fantastic value for money! The French Horn pub to which the accomodation is joined is charming and full of character. And the atmosphere was fun and lively the weekend that I was there. The food prepared by their kitchen was definitely a highlight of the stay. The accomodation was clean and well-furnished. The shower instantly provided hot water at a good pressure which you can't say for every place on AirBNB. And I found there to be plenty of space to relax and be comfortable. Some here have suggested issues with privacy, but despite it's location in the grounds of the pub, I never felt like this was much of an issue. Many years ago too many) I visited The French Horn with my wife but at that time you were not sure if it was a Pub or Restaurant, Boy has that changed, Great Food served on hot plates..Great friendly service and the young man serving us understood the needs of myself and my guests all of us over 75. The food arrived spot on and quickly which surprised us seeing as the Restaurant was rammed. We all had the Sunday Roast Beef £17.50) which included Cauliflower Cheese..Vegetables..and 3 or 4 slices Beef..excellent Roast Potatoes along with plenty of other veg.
