"I was really looking forward to visiting this 'gastro-pub ' especially as it advertised a decent choice of vegan options which could even be made gluten free with a request to the server. Two of the vegan options were not available, one because 'the mash wasn 't vegan and the chef can 't make anymore ' and one because the pasta wasn 't vegan, it had egg in it. It took a while each time to be informed each choice wasn 't available. The 'vegan wellington ' was basically just pastry and veg (most places would make this with lentils for protein) so I was left with a choice of a very expensive burger or very expensive salad. I 'm just glad I didn 't need to start asking about gluten free options too! The waiter seemed to have no idea what was in the dishes or which ones were available. Very disappointing. I only gave it 2 stars as the kids seemed happy with their very expensive burgers."

Came for a family Sunday lunch of 15 people. The pre-order and deposit process was simple. The food was delicious and we were looked after very well. All in all a lovely experience and we'll happily return

We had our Christmas lunch in the Wheatsheaf for the first time and we will 100% be back. The food was amazing with no issues and the service from Olivia for the afternoon was impeccable. Thanks to all and Happy New Year! View menu

We booked in on spec for Sunday Lunch because our regular venue was closed. Everything was excellent. We arrived 15 minutes early and our table was ready. Thomas (Tomasz? was our waiter and he was very attentive and helpful. The Sunday Lunch was excellent and the beer (London Pride was good. What more could you ask for? We normally book a Sunday Lunch after the Sunday Jazz Sessions at The Stables at Wavendon, we will certainly be back!

We came here for a family meal 6 adults and 4 kids. They put us in the far area, which was ideal as we didn't have to worry about our kids disturbing others! The food was incredible and piping hot which shows how freshly cooked it was. Really tasty and perfect portion sizes. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. I REALLY regret not getting the name of our waiter because he truly made our night! Nothing was too much trouble, he was super friendly and attentive. Struggled to pick just one thing to have off the menu! So we will definitely be back!! Thank you!! View menu

Went went for Sunday lunch today The staff are nice ambience was pleasant but food wise this is not a gastropub... If that’s NOT what you’re looking for then this establishment is perfectly fine But if you’re looking for a gastro pub then you’ll be disappointed. The food is below average the kids menu is pricey... The kids mains are fine but £2.95 for a small kids cup of lemonade £5.95 for a small brownie is expensive, best off ordering from the main menu! The beef roast was poor quality, tough min veg, whilst the kids food was poor quality. Shame as we had high expectations.

My best friend took me there for lunch for my 60th birthday, we arrived on time everything was going well until she went to sit down, the chair was broken just held with one screw that fell out and she trapped her finger causing excruciating pain and severe bruising straight away, was although the waiter was very helpful bringing her ice and very apologetic the manager did not bother once coming over to see if she was OK, (even though she was there seating other costumers there was plenty of opportunity to come over and at one point my friend tried to get her attention I must admit the food was very good I had pie of the day and she had a burger that was sent out without the burger sauce ,on...
