"Waited 45 minutes for a bread and dip starter. After 40 minutes of waiting the waitress arrived to tell us they were trying to source one of the dips.. with a drink as an apology for myself and my wife. 5 minutes later the starter arrived with the said dip still missing but no explanation as to why. Friendly staff but really poor service. A full night cut short due to feeling frustrated at seeing customers who arrived after us receive their cooked main order before we received a starter of dips and simply toasted bread. Not good enough for the price. Won’t be returning."

"Very pleasant atmosphere starter perfect but the Main was terrible. Potatoes where very chewy as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp. My meat was way too rare a choice as to how I would of liked it would of been better. In all we had 2 mains which on each plate was meat potatoes Yorkshire and greens still left which In my opinion sums up the main courses. But on a positive note both starters 7-10 Both mains 4-10 1 pudding. 10-10 We would return as we noticed you was serving a variety of different meals. Would we recommend. Not for the roast but maybe the other choices."

"I was recently invited to a party in Notting Hill. There was a miscommunication, and I was there 2 hours early. I needed to kill some time, and my tummy was rumbling. So I ducked into De Amicis, thinking it looked nice I should add that this was a Saturday night. I got into the restaurant early, and it was fairly empty one family eating an early dinner. I ordered a Margherita, and by the time it came, the place was starting to fill up a bit. "Staff at The Lamb are lovely, and it's a nice pub to eat in. Good value for money. I was personally a little disappointed by the food this time, the ham from my ham egg and chips was processed and formed, rather than carved from a joint, but it was perfectly edible. They do offer Sunday roasts, but these are not carved meat from a joint."

"we were recommended to go to candlelight inn for dinner by Sarah-Jane martin from the belfry at yarcombe and wow I am glad that she did. the service was absolutely amazing, we felt appreciated and appreciated, many smiles and very attentive. the location is beautiful and everyone seems to know each other, which means they have regular customers. if I lived near, I would go back. I had the best veggie burger ever! I have to go back. I had to ask for their social media contacts so I could recommend them to everyone. the candlelight inn and the belfry at yarcombe were certainly the highlight of my birthday weekend. please come by when they are in the opposite. "we really loved gilbey. it has a very nice cozy atmosphere and was relaxing. eating was especially excellent for the chicken liver pates. the arancini were also very nice with brooms and mushrooms, and Taleggio cheese and sown with a rocket pesto. served with a tangy ratatouille and a light salate, this was a very pleasant escape. the wine selection is small, but good. I recommend to them gilbey an attempt when they are in the opposite."

"A wonderful dining experience. A party of 12 of us had a separate small room upstairs. We were there for a Sunday lunch and I think all of us had a traditional roast some had beef, some had pork. I had the beef and it was very nice (as long as you don't mind the meat very rare! (I did notice that the portions, particularly of roast potatoes, was inconsistent around the table but I did not test to see if they would have brought more on request . I started with the fishcake which was lovely but others around the table had other options which all looked delicious. My neighbour particularly enjoyed the soup. For dessert I had the lemon tart with blackcurrant sorbet which was a beautiful combination I particularly liked the crunchy caramelised topping on the tart. The two young ladies who served us were both great. Polite, pleasant and efficient. Nothing was too much bother and the orders taken and delivered (without a too long wait accurately. Although quite a tight squeeze (I wouldn't want more than 12 in that room , it was a comfortable and well decorated room which added to the overall experience at Gilbey's. Don't go for a separate room, though, if any of your party are not good with stairs! Well done, Gilbey's, I bet we'll be back!"

"Lovely food great staff friendly the noise level in the bar area from people not eating was loud was off putting when trying to have a romantic meal/date night also didnt like the fact the staff made us put our own left overs from our plates into boxes in full veiw of other diners very unprofessional. "I would recommend as I have had such lovely food there before and I 'm hoping this was a 'one off '. Waited ages for the drinks. My father in law asked for a pot of tea to be served with his meal came after the meal even when we asked for it. There was only 2 girls taking orders and serving. When you needed someone there wasn 't anyone around. I was pleased they let us order a kid 's portion of fish and chips as my father in law doesn 't have a big appetite. Maybe this is something to consider smaller portions if requested. At the same time the chips that came with the fish were all 'ends ' again disappointing. As I have said I do hope this isn 't going to be the regular service going forward."

"I have had the OXBO brunch on a few occasions. This was more of a family affair for my daughters 21st. The usual brunch experience at the food station was a good as normal. However, we was all disappointed and miffed by the mains. We was a group of 10. We was given two plates of some chicken (barely a enough to go round), a fishcake each and some sauce. We expected a bit more meat to arrive and certainly maybe some veg or something to go with the chicken. A small drumstick is what many of us got. Our bill was around £550 and I feel very disappointed due to the mains being so poor. It was as if we was expected to get full on the sweets, cakes and cold meats rather than the main course."

"We both realy enjoyed the mealat the restrant. It was also a nice peaceful environment, with the water feature and staff adding to the overall ambiance. The foot was of good quality and set out nicely. The beer did add to the overall cost. (very tasty mind! I would definately like to eat there again but might have to avoid the beverages to keep the cost affordable."

"Fabulous staff, the reception lady did her best to find us a window seat overlooking the city which she didn’t have to, we were then greeted by a very attentive and pleasant waitress who made the experience comfortable, we were expecting the usual , slight snobbery one tends to find at these expensive establishments but she was very kind a patient. My only regret was not bringing physical cash to tip the servers and reception lady as they won’t allow tipping via the card. 5/5."

"What a great find on Google search. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and attentive. Lovely decor and ambience although small. It was our anniversary and the staff went out of their way so that we had a romantic setting. The steam fish and veg delicious and the oxtail, rice and plantain scrumptious. "I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."
