"We managed to get a last minute booking which surprised us, given that it was a Friday evening in the west end. When we arrived we received a warm welcome and given a nice table by the window. We ordered wine which was decanted at the table by our waitress Valentina. We chose mussels to start followed by pizza and sergios cod provencal along with a tomato and onion salad which they kindly prepared despite not being on the menu, (not always easy to achieve in many other restaurants) The mussels were tiny and many of the shells were empty, however the marinara sauce was tasty. The pizza, quattro formaggi was incredibly salty and doughy. The cod dish was bland and in our opinion the fish was undercooked. We were hungry so ate what we could. But left a considerable amount of food untouched. When the waitress came to clear she could obviously see that we had not enjoyed the food and asked how it was. She was also surprised that no-one had come to do a quality check. She said she would go and speak to the manager, which she did. After we paid and made to leave the manager then approached and offered us a limoncello which we declined. Sadly we were disappointed and despite there being many celebrity photographs adorning the walls, we found the experience underwhelming."

"I’ve been to Giovanni’s three times in the space of three days only because the Capricciosa Pizza was SO delicious, and I wanted to have it again!! On the third night I had the parmigiana di melanzane, and it was fabulous as well. My partner had the minestrone soup and spaghetti bolognese, and he was equally impressed. The food is really very good, and the service is impressive. Especially if you’re lucky enough to have Izzy as your waitress, you’re in luck! She will look after you and make sure that you have the most delightful dining experience. Whenever I return to Knutsford, I will ensure to eat here again!! "I have been there three times. The food is very genuine italian and really delicious and tasty. Large menu card and great ‘todays specials’. Prices are very reasonable. "We recently dined at Viva L'Italia and had a pleasant experience with both the food and service. However, we were informed that the restaurant had been renovated and our booking for the Italian steakhouse was transferred to their other location in Windsor. The food was average, and my carbonara order without cream was served with cream. The homemade tiramisu resembled more of a cake, was drowned in chocolate sauce, and lacked flavor. The staff were friendly, but overall, I left feeling disappointed. We were given a 50% discount for the incorrect carbonara, but it would have been better to receive the correct dish. While I had hoped to enjoy Viva L'Italia, I am unsure if I will return in the future."

"We went to dinner on Friday after work with friends. At first, we thought it was pretty quiet for a Friday night, but the atmosphere picked up. The ambiance was lovely, very cozy and intimate, and the waiter who served us was very friendly, not intrusive but informative when needed. For starters, we all had a variety of dishes: pate della casa, antipasto della casa, salad, and eggplant parmigiana. For mains, we had a T-bone steak, classic pasta dish, and a delicious chicken romano dish. Overall, we were satisfied with our meals, the seasoning, and the flavors were great. However, my friends who had the steak were not overly impressed. They felt that the texture of the meat suggested it might have been frozen at some point, rather than fresh. Despite this, we had a nice dining experience and would consider coming back. Next time, we may stick to the authentic Italian dishes as this is an Italian restaurant, and they do them very well."

"What a disgraceful way to treat people. I booked this restaurant for 14th February for 4 people six weeks ago, booked through the Italian Club themselves. I made it clear that we were not interested in Valentines Night and that seemed to be that. Then I received an e-mail 26/01/24 demanding £40 within the next hour or the booking would be cancelled, I didnt see the mail until 27/01/24 and a booking cancellation confirmation e-mail as well. We are people of a certain age and are not in the habit of breaking booking once made. I will not consider this restaurant as worthy of my money ever again. Plenty more fish in the sea!! I'm off to find one who treats the customer as king."
