"Not been here for a while and visited Sunday lunchtime, we had not booked and the restaurant was already busy so not sure if we would get a table but we were very quickly ushered to a table by a very friendly front of house receptionist, our order was then taken by a very nice girl called Briony who then got our drinks and helped us to pick the salad which they have to plate for you, the meal came pretty quickly and all of us enjoyed our meal and were so full we could not even look at the desert menu lol , we will most certainly return again in the near future"

"From the moment my family and I walked through the door to the minute we left our experience was that of pure joy. Normally eating out is a chore with our two kids as they both have their own unique needs but Tanya who I assume is a manager and Autumn our waitress made sure they went out of their way to include them in their own ways. The food was beautifully cooked, I recommend the double dirty combo which is what I had tonight followed by a liquor coffee complete with a nice shot of glenfiddich. I haven’t been to a harvester for a couple of years and to be honest never had any complaints but also never had much of a reason to compliment the service but tonight we were honestly made to feel like part of the family. Well done guys we couldn’t be happier"

"We went for a baby shower and a 3 course lunch. It was absolutely glorious. Food was excellent as we had the vegetarian option,which was superb.The room was light and airey. The staff were all friendly and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble for them. Just loved it. Thank you. Food drinks: No one left anything, so that can only be good. "We went to the Bell and Barge for lunch today .We used to like Harvester restaurants but following a disastrous breakfast there some time ago, Harvester ignored my letter , we have been avoiding Harvester.Today we decided to give them another chance it the experience was below standard and the management need a tightener.!On arrival we discovered the car park area to be litter strewn and untidy. It 's not been like this before with abandoned ceramic coffee mug, sweet wrappers and empty pop bottles. A 5 minute litter pick? The time was 11-50 and we were directed to a seat. We always have a dish called Simply Chicken but this has gone from the menu now but there is a similar more costly dish that we both ordered.Simply Chicken used to include a baked potato but the new dish didn 't.We had to order the baked potato as an extra but the waitress explained that due to a miscommunication in the kitchen , no one had put the potatoes on and they would be an hour.I expressed my disappointment and the waitress explained that the garlic mash was very nice. She explained that the salad bar wasn 't ready yet.We ordered bitter shandy which soon arrived and we waited for the salad bar to receive its bread rolls and serving spoons. Seemed a bit slack as they open st 11-30?The bitter shandy tasted like a soft sweet drink and it looked cloudy and unappetising.The salad bar proved better than we remembered .The service of our main was quick and efficient.When the bill came it included £6 for one and a half pints of bitter shandy.I explained about the drink being awful and advised the waitress to see her manager about the bill. She took the drinks away and came back explaining they said the bitter was off last night , but no one told anyone I remarked that it usually meant that they needed to clean out their pipes. The deducted the £6 from the bill.The restaurant opens ar 8-00 for breakfast .The toilets were disgusting with litter , spent toilet paper etc strewn around.The toilet bowls were dirty and the place needed a good blitzing.The waitress was friendly , caring and polite .The manager needs to run a tighter ship!!I will not write again to Harvester as they lack the customer care or manners to reply.Shall we use Harvester again ? Would you?"

"When we arrived at the restaurant, we noticed a few people waiting to be seated. There was some chaos as people were pushing into the line to hand in their car registrations at the entrance. It appeared that the restaurant was short-staffed. We saw a customer accidentally getting covered in beer and wine by a waitress, but she handled the situation well and quickly moved the customer to a new table. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, she continued to work efficiently. Unfortunately, my rare sirloin steak was overcooked and had a lot of tough, chewy parts, which was disappointing. Overall, the dining experience was not enjoyable, and I was glad to leave. It didn't seem like good value for money, especially for a Sunday evening. I don't plan on returning to this restaurant."

"As ever the Gryphon extended it's warm welcome, the staff are always the best asset of any establishment and many of the staff here have been working for years and will always make you feel at home. We had the avocado on toast as a basic start, to which I then added a few extras as it was going to keep me going al day whilst I built a shed ! Mandy did an excellent job of looking after us."

"My husband ordered a pot of tea but only received a cup. When we questioned this, we were informed that a pot was only available with the unlimited tea option. Interestingly, I noticed that I had been charged for unlimited tea, so I'm not sure why we didn’t receive it. After placing our food order, we waited around 40 minutes for our breakfast, only for it to arrive incorrect. We had both ordered fried eggs, but instead received poached eggs. When I brought this up with the waitress, she talked over me, and while she offered to bring us a replacement, I was reluctant to accept since we were already very hungry and didn’t want to wait even longer. Overall, the food was bland and quite unappetizing. Additionally, the option for self-service continental breakfast was no longer available, which used to be a welcome choice while waiting for hot food. In summary, both the food and customer service were disappointing, and I wouldn’t be inclined to return or recommend this place to others."

"I had made a reservation online at the Harvester restaurant, but I received a call informing me that the time slot I had selected was not available and I needed to choose a new one. When I arrived at the new time slot, their system still showed the original time, but fortunately they had a table ready for us. I had chosen Harvester because I had heard about their new menu and refund offer, but to my disappointment, there was nothing new on the menu and only a price increase. During our meal, our waitress changed without any notice, and the new waitress kept pushing us to order dessert, making us feel rushed. We eventually decided to have dessert, paid, and left feeling unappreciated as customers. Additionally, it was Father's Day and we were not informed about a special meal deal for fathers, only finding out about it from a leaflet while looking at the dessert menu."

"Soft drink was flat, and straw leaves horrid taste. Partner is gluten free diet, separate menu, advertising all day breakfast, but not on main menu. No gluten free toast, bacon very salty. I ordered classic burger with no bacon. Served with bacon, very greasy, and no real taste. Several times been and closed. I used to use blue light card here, but only available for take out meals.?? We came at lunch time and was freezing. Must be saving g money on heating."

"Terrible food! Staff are running round like headless chickens and don’t have a clue what they are doing! The place was filthy, we was shown to a table and the floor was covered in the previous diners food.. sticky tables and chairs. 6 of us ordered the festive menu, it came out cold, the veg was mushy and the sprouts tasted so disgusting they was inedible.. the starters were a joke! And 2 of us never got our puddings as they forgot to put our orders through.. we decided to just pay and leave, the bill came and when we checked it, we had been charged for items we never even asked for! Once we called the waitress over and went through the bill it turned out they had over charged us by £28."
