"After Arabica reminded me just how good food from the Levant could be, even if it was at the expense of that month's salary, I was in the mood for a nice big Lebanese lunch where portions weren't measured by the teaspoon and where I might feel I'd got my money's worth. Most Lebanese (I realise there's a bit of crossover with various different countries' cuisines Syrian, Israeli, Palestinian, but I'm going to stick with calling it Lebanese because I don't know any better) food I've tried has all been of a solid minimum standard; maybe Middle Eastern chefs are all trained very well, or maybe it's just difficult to mess up hummus and tabouleh. Either way, while the service in a number of...read more"

"Our multi generational family group really enjoyed our meal here recently. They are a family run restaurant specialising in traditional Lebanese and Syrian food. The menu is quite comprehensive to say the least, and not being *that* familiar with the cuisine of this region we opted for a few starter dishes we'd heard of (such as Babaghanouj) together with some others we hadn't. Sharing everything was a great way to try multiple things and I'd recommend it here as there were some really tasty discoveries. For mains, most of us chose a kebab in one form or another, with separate servings of salad and rice (the Mujadara rice whole lentils rice cooked in vegetable oil spices, topped with fried onions was really good). As an added bonus, you can bring your own alcohol with you the corkage is only £1 a bottle. They also stock a range of Lebanese wines and beers as well as some mainstream beers. Given how popular the restaurant was on a Sunday evening goes to show they cook and serve great food. We'll definitely be returning here."

"Food was nice, very decent portions. We found the chilies in the garlic mogo very over powering but the rest of the dishes were tasty and not overly priced. Two areas of disappointment Service they were clearly understaffed and some one the staff members did not really know what was happening. At one point we had a jug of water all glasses full of water and we ordered a jug of passionfruit but the waiter looked very confused when I asked for glasses as the water glasses were full of water. He also ignored us when we were requesting the bill despite the fact he was only behind My husband and I had the worst stomach ache the following day. Neither of us will be returning in a hurry nor recommending"

"al sultan is a restaurant in the shepherd market quarter. it is on a small pedestrian zone behind park lane where there are several oriental restaurants. that is a classic Lebanese restaurant. the mezze, tapa style hot and cold dishes, change daily. there are bratlamm, filled or fried auberginen, zucchini with rice and her belt sauce, hummus natural, tabouleh, etc. the entries are 5 or 6 pfund and it takes about two or three to make a complete dinner. there are also cheese salad, spicy nuts, fish eggs in oil, spinach with cilantro. most dishes are very healthy and perfectly presented. the Shawarma style roasts are 12 pounds."

"No doubt their lamb Sharwarma and sautéed liver is a show stopper here. It's BYOB, Chefs, and Staff are very attentive, a very nice ambience (warm, clean, and cosy). What more can you ask for... the price? Very reasonable! It's £7-8.00 for their lunch menu offer (12 -4 pm) so you can taste the good food for yourselves. I've been eating here for three years or more, I think, and the standards of quality are well maintained. See you tomorrow, guys!"

"my visit to beirut meza I liked very well, although my eyes might have been too big for mine. I had several of the hot and cold midshot, of which I would highly recite the hommos (a slightly spicy version) and the kalaj beirut mezza (a hello stuff flatbread) the chef, imad, clearly has a strong passion for eating that he cooks, and was about the dishes worth knowing would again eat a lot."

"So so so disappointing! We're locals and haven't been here for a while but we were very disappointed with the menu tonight. No wonder the place is almost empty. Patasas bravas no potato or tomato in sight! The most basic menu option and so cheap to produce but none of the essential ingredients so why serve what you served?! Poor show. Padron Peppers! So few they worked out to be £1 each! Prince of Wales and Mute Swan are much better, cheaper and more of them. Menu massively reduced from what it used to be and they haven't kept the good items. And SOOOOO over priced. Such a shame that it took a turn for the worse and will probably end up closing down if it continues with the ready meals out of a box. We can make that at home. Make it fresh! You're a restaurant! Bring back what you used to be! Staff were wonderful!"

"Extremely disappointed with this restaurant and seriously concerned about their (lack of) adherence to government guidelines around social distancing. Upon arrival (I had made a booking for 2), we were ushered to the tiny back area of the restaurant which was absolutely rammed with tables. The person leading us to our table actually asked another customer to stand up to give us his chair as 5 people were sitting on a 4 seater table. We were sat around 30cm away from the other customers so no distancing in place whatsoever. We waited at the table for around 15 minutes without menus or anyone paying us any attention. Seeing as there were only 3 people manning a VERY packed restaurant, it was no wonder they could not keep up with their service. That, and the fact that no consideration was given for our safety, led us to just leave the restaurant and look for something else. Thankfully there are lots of other lovely places to eat around Balham, otherwise it would have ruined our evening."

"I've been eating at this great Lebanese restaurant in West Hampstead for a few years. The menu is extensive enough to suit all tastes, with great houmous starters and mains. The welcome is always warm and value for money is excellent, with a good meal for 2 with drinks coming in at under £40."

"Rawduck has been on my “to go” list for a while and I thought what better time to go than valentines. Although I think I would have preferred elsewhere. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, but the host made us feel like it was. There’s sharing tables and we were seating right next to another couple even though there were empty two tables available which is a shame for valentines night. Service was slow. Took a while to take our order. Food was nice. Good quality ingredients but nothing new or unique. The ratio to labneh and flatbread was a shame- 4 small pieces of bread with a bucket load of labneh. The fried chicken was delicious and 100% our favourite dish. The beef ragu however seemed like a very cheap and average dish that we got charged £18 for. We waited a while for our second drinks. We then waited again for our plates to be cleared. Then when they did no one came over to us again. No dessert menu. No drink offer. No tea or coffee. We flagged someone down but by then we didn’t want anything else so just asked for the bill. Any other night it would be fine but Valentine’s Day, it was disappointing."

"It was my girlfriends birthday and we surprised her with a meal at this restaurant. they instruct you to book a table on their website to which we did. we received the confirmation email to confirm our booking at 8:00PM on the 20th August. After arriving with her and her family, the place was closed. With it being a Sunday evening, finding another restaurant was impossible as everything else was no longer taking any bookings or they had closed the kitchen. Extremely disappointed in this as we received no word or update on their opening hours and they simply wasted our time and ruined my girlfriends birthday. Would not recommend"

"Unfortunately couldn't give this place more than 1 star. The place is clean with nice decorations and good hospitality. .. However, the food is way below expectations. We ordered fatoush, cheese sambousak and shawerma hummus for starters and we got tabouleh on top of that as a complimentary. Unfortunately, the fatoush was tasteless, no summaq, no lemon or even salt and burned bread ...i don't even think it had proper olive oil as part of the dressing. Tabouleh had no bulgar and came with big chunks on onions! Couldn't even try it coz it didn't even look like tabouleh. The cheese sambousak was very salty ... so if you have high blood pressure ...DON'T even think about it! The shawerma is not shawerma. .. it's just chicken cooked on stove top ... and the hummus ... mmm ... what was that?!!! Nothing like hummus! For our main ... we ordered Chicken Biryani. Didn't taste or look like it ... the rice was very soft and full of water and not fluffy at all. We were very disappointed and the lady noticed our shock and asked us for our feedback. .. She was very understanding and we only paid for the sambousak and the chicken Biryani ... good customer service ... but unfortunately worst arabic food I tried in the UK"

"Booked Beirut Nights on the recommendation of a friend for my and couldn't have been happier. From the moment we arrived we were treated as special guests, given a better table, kept entertained and served with the best Strawberry Mojitos you will taste! They allowed us to have our own cake which they kindly served for us in the Shisha lounge area once we were done eating, complete with a sparkling candle and full Happy Birthday... we stayed well over hours at the restaurant/lounge and could have stayed longer. We were never made to feel like they were waiting for us to leave. I would recommend Beirut Nights for a quiet Shisha and drinks on a weekend or indeed for a birthday party with a huge group its such a versatile venue!"

"I can't stress how amazing this restaurant is. we came from birmingham and looked for a place to eat so, we went randomly on google to search for restaurants and came over this. the position of him perfect, I love how it is in the middle of a park. the man who served us was so sweet and friendly that is something that I will never forget, he made sure that we were good all our time there and even put a portable heating next to us to make sure we stay warm. the food was nice, thanks to the cook, the decor inside is beautiful, all about it makes it so welcome. I have never found such a place before me and will be visited again in summer. Thank you again."

"Middle Eastern cuisine is one of the top foodie trends of 2015. Since visiting Marrakech late last year, I have become quite the fan, even though I don't find myself eating as much of it as id like too. Lebanese in particular is one cuisine I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing thus far to date, so I was most excited when asked to come along and review this newly eating space in St Johns Wood. Bashir, the manager of the restaurant welcomed us in with open arms and once sat down, explained to us the menu items and his recommendations for the evening. I actually love it when someone orders for me. These days, I either want to order everything off the menu or I just become way too...read more"
