"Restaurant itself looks unappealing with takeaway packaging stacked floor to ceiling by the entrance and the whole place looks tired. Both the poppadoms and naan we're overcooked (base of naan was black). Bhuna sauce was watery and over large chunks of chicken meant that the meat lacked flavour. The food wasn't expensive but it certainly wasn't cheap as a takeaway. The whole experience felt like the staff have given up don't care. Won't be back, there are lots of better places."

"Food lovely, nice selection. Small amounts of each dish available so you get the sense it is kept fresh. Puddings were good. Nice, small pieces of cakes to choose from so you can sample different ones without waste. Ice cream delicious too. Drink service a bit slow despite restaurant being very quiet. Before it changed hands we liked that you could bring your own wine but Saffron have a no alcohol on premises policy so leave the wine at home. Toilets were terrible, no lock on one of the doors, no loo roll in the other, spider on a web inside one of the toilets not clean or well maintained, let's the place down I'm afraid."

"really bad experience. not sure what restaurant went on to these other reviewers because the staff was really not helpful. has been referred to what seemed to be the chef of the restaurant immediately, which means that the personal 't formed on allergens, but the manager clearly 't understand what vegan meant also. He told me to get a dish and he'd tell me if they could make it vegan. I explained we could be here all day to go through the menu, but he insisted. I went, of course, directly to the sweet dishes to which he said no (to all! because they have flour in them. I tried to explain that flour has nothing to do with veganism, but he did not understand. I would leave the restaurant if we were not there for my vater birthday, as we began to make a scene when I tried to explain that they have vegan options available, but can't say which options these are. I went with a bombay aloo that is usually vegan. I feel like they have deliberately put a boiled egg in themselves, as I have never seen that it is part of the teller. So I didn't eat the meal and didn't say anything, paid and left. I do not understand that all restaurants have vegan options available, but I thought after the reviews here and the fact that they have advertised vegan options on their menu that they would be helpful, but it is probably the worst experience I had."

"I visited this restaurant regularly until Christmas 2021. this was my first visit this year and the property has changed again! in the front part of the restaurant were three lights turned on, the light was bad, the heating was...ab and there was no music at all. the waiter' had difficultities in the first part of my order for 2 plain and 2 spicy poppadome and a bottle cobra, after several repeated accusations he finally got it right, except to try to give me 2 bottles cobra at the same time. I decided to skip the starter and chicken jalfrezi mushroom rice and okra ordered. the food came, but the waiter treated the plate with bare hands and not covered with a served cloth, while he got the food I used my bag sanitiser to wipe the plate where he put his thumb. the chicken was tasteless and was possibly boiled, in which the whole meal was tasteless. I paid the bill and went around 9.45 clock within about 1 minute of my leave the restaurant closed and the roller shutters were closed. this was a Saturday night and it seemed that I had been their only eating in the customer. I don't think they'll survive much longer. a great scandal that a beautiful restaurant with a hygiene rating of 5 seems to be on the way last year."

"first we came in and it was really ugly. there were quiet music and the furniture was really nice. next we ordered, but our waitress was a bit grumpy. but our food came in 14 minutes. it is like almost food restaurant. the Canadian breakfast was really good and the pancakes were huge and delicious. it is a really good restaurant and some of the waiters are really polite. this is a definite 4-star restaurant I just turned 12"

"Upon entering this lovely restaurant, our dining experience was exceptional. We enjoyed the buffet and had a delicious meal. The service was outstanding, with a friendly and welcoming staff. Although they do not have a liquor license yet, it was easy to run across the road to Scotmid for a bottle of red wine. "We had not visited the Sitar for quite some time, that due only to our eating agenda not coinciding with their opening hours. Our visit last week gave us absolutely no room for complaint. The food was very good and the service complimented it. The presence of three members of staff who we knew from the days we used the Sitar on a regular basis, made the visit even more enjoyable. More so because they had not forgotten us. Would we recommend the Sitar to other diners? Undoubtedly Yes."

"Ordered food at 17:45. At 21:25 I am still waiting. They were late with the delivery and then on opening the food they delivered the wrong food. They assured me they'd send the wrong food and in the following hour and a half they said it was out for delivery twice.
