"The presentation and packaging of the food is excellent, probably one of the best I’ve seen. However the quality and taste of the food is very bad not authentic at all. I ordered the fish madras and fish masala. The fish madras tasted very tomatoey like they just poured a whole tin of tomatoes with no spice or flavour, tasted more like a stew. The fish masala was basically like eating a desert, basically a ton of sugar and thick creamy coconut. I think they cater to a certain type of demographic"

"Many moons ago when I worked in Slough a work colleague introduced me to this place. And there begun our love of the biryani and vegetable samosa. Ate here last night and although the vegetable samosa was excellent the biryani wasn't as good as normal. Rice looked like a longer grain but the flavour was also different. Please bring back the old biryani! This isn't the most conformable place. Designed to eat and go. More cafe style.....service is always OK. Don't go expecting Michelin starred food. It's also not like the high street Indian restaurants. This is traditional food.Will definitely return with high hopes of their 5 star biryani returning!"

"Had food here and the carvery was fine. Bar staff were sharp and nice. the place is very big but I have never been in there late. Loads of ex footballers come to the pub for events so it has a been football following and live music. Not sure if it felt like my kinda evening venue so I never tried. Its the same sort of thing as the Bell and the Carpenter. They all start to blend one into the other with styling, menus and target markets. If its your thing go for it."

"Average food, average atmosphere, grumpy staff. Overall an indian restaurant with uninspired and medium cooking. Dishes looked all kind of the same: some red to brown curry with something in it. We had to pay extra for your rice I have never encountered a restaurant before where you have to pay for your rice to add to your curry. Recommended only if all other restaurants in this area are too busy..."

"This is our favorite spot for curries because they cater to all dietary needs, including allergies and gluten or dairy restrictions. The curries are always delicious and portion sizes are decent. We also love their Papadum pickles. Although prices can be a bit high, they often have specials on their website and offer discounts through email sign-ups. "Was staying in Portsmouth for a few days. Went to Purple mango Indian restaurant. Arrived a little early but that did not matter.Was shown to r table which was clean. Had a nice bottle of wine. Which was nice chilled. Good poppadoms a great selection of dips. For are starters we had mussels in lemon garlic also meat samosas they came lovely hot. For are mains we had king prawn masala ,garlic naan, sag aloo, chicken tikka masala, all very good lovely hot also had water at the table. Nice chilled. Had dessert chocolate mousse , strawberry dessert .very nice .to round of the evening coffee .very nice. Also Baileys on the house. Nice touch. Big shout out to are waiter Ali nothing to much trouble for him .All the waiting staff are very well dressed clean tidy.The restaurant is a lovely setting. Nice for couples or big groups of people.The owner Raji is lovely asked if are food was ok. At the end of the night he even called us a taxi back to are hotel. Which was very good him .would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in Portsmouth area. Lovely clean restaurant . Lovely friendly waiting staff. Food amazing.best Indian in town. Raji should be very proud of his team in Purple mango they all was working very hard Friday night."

"Had an incredible experience, the place has completely changed under the new management since last year. We happened to go in by chance and were really surprised by the great service. The team was very pleasant and brought ice cream for the little one. They were attentive and the taste was very delicious. We ordered the Tawa for two and thinking it may have a small portion ordered one dish extra too but the tawa was quite large."

"London has a long list of fake' Indian restaurants places where nothing is Indian except the names of the dishes on the menus. Bhatti is one of them. Although the waiter denied this and guaranteed their chef was Indian I had my doubts when the paratha and nan were both made in the tandoor, the butter chicken was made with tomato purée and the motor' paneer had so much mutter in it that it became difficult to wash it down with water as well. Service was just passable with the waiters making you conscious while you eat. From the way they kept staring at us I think the poor fellas were very hungry themselves. "Went with my family to eat at this restaurant. The food looked authentic and more importantly tasted authentic and the attention to detail was what stood out from other places. The staff was superb and helpful with helping us pick our dishes. The manager was really friendly and interested. He gave us a wonderful night out. Definitely worth the one hour trip to get there and we plan on visiting again. The service was excellent and I commend the workers there. It's definitely one that I recommended and I look forward to my return there."

"I would like to start off my review with praise for the staff and the decor of the establishment. I absolutely loved the unique decoration of the inside of the restaurant, from the strobes of multicoloured lights, the glass mosaics and drawings and the Afghan Styled (as I had been informed) seating in the lower end of the restaurant, which was not made for our family style but we are very sure is much appreciated by those who do use it. The staff was very helpful for my visit, I would like to thank the waiters and the hosts who were always alert for their kind hospitality, as well as the chef 's for their nice food. in my most humble opinion, the food was very good, though could be improved. "We went to this pretty traditional Indian restaurant with a good friend to visit London. We chose the menu for two for £27. For that price you have onion bhajis, then a chicken tika masala and chicken curry with a side of sag aloo goa. We ordered an extra portion of taka dal. The sag aloo dal and had a good taste but the curry was quite sosa and I'm not sure they were just made. The service seemed a little ropy sometimes too much, especially when one of the waiters connected to my friend as he finished his start. I had the general feeling that the waiters were more interested in ensuring the orderly development of liquidating tables of the comfort of their comensals. In general, the quality of the food does not reach the cost that ended up being 60 pounds for two with wine. There are certainly other Indian restaurants in the Notting Hill and Bayswater area as they deserve our best."

"Great food and fantastic for the Aldwych theatres. Manager was very friendly. Need to keep an eye on the service as waiters appeared tired and not overly good English. As a result we witnessed an autocation between a waiter and a customer that was pretty much down to language issues. Not terribly pricey for Central London and gold menu. Advised to book at weekends and evenings as evidently theatres plus KC London plus Law Courts make it very busy. Overall pretty good."
