"Nouvelle Spice is a wonderful Indian restaurant located in New Cross. Their friendly service, large portions, and affordable prices make it a great dining spot. The food is delicious, with the chicken korma being sweet and creamy without being too rich, and the lamb dansak perfectly tangy. The peshwari naan is especially excellent, with a thick, doughy texture and a delicious golden filling topped with toasted sesame seeds. The prawn palak and bhindi bhaji dishes were also tasty, although the pilau rice was nothing special."

"With stylish presentation, delicately flavours and silky sauces, Kouchin's menu includes poplar curry house favourites, but its their ‘Connoisseurs Choice’ of unique dishes which catch the eye. Kouchin's ‘Dom Phukt’ cooking tradition dates back to the days of they Moghuls but with addition of modern panache. I'd recommend Grilled Seabass Fillet with roasted pickling spices £12.95; Tawa Duck Breast marinated in garlic, ginger, mustard, coriander honey then grilled on a tawa. Served with stir fried rice, noodles a medium spiced sauce for £11.95, in soft cheese saffron with a crunchy crisped skin, but succulent pink flesh £12.95; or the Lobster In Goan Masala of coconut, star aniseed for £25.95."

"I've eaten here a few times with my partner and always been blown away by the food, so for my birthday this year I thought I'd arrange a meal with some friends to share the deliciousness with loved ones. Big mistake. The restaurant clearly don't want to cater for large parties (there were 12 adults and 4 kids in our group . We booked an early table at 5pm to make this easier for the restaurant and free up the space for evening diners. From the moment of our arrival we were treated with utter contempt, bits of our order never turned up, drinks took ages to arrive. When it came to leaving, we were told we had underpaid by £25 but previously the waitress had said we had completely covered before I'd even paid my portion so the £25 I paid for my meal was essential the tip (way more than 10% . The hostile manager wouldn't let us leave and insisted we pay the missing money plus a tip. After we left we checked all our receipts (though most of us paid in cash , added them up and saw we had indeed been swindled. I am genuinely devastated because I have loved eating here until this point, but I won't be going back because of the way we were treated. If you are a solo diner or couple then please do visit because the food is absolutely out of this world, but if you are a large party please avoid the awful experience I was unfortunate to have at the hands of such a grumpy man completely devoid of human kindness (who really shouldn't be front of house ."

"We plan to have take away food and thought to get in Tulasi but for takeaway restaurant the price is equal to dine in. Prices for Nan and paratha they are charging 3.40 which is very expensive and size is not so big and average chapati size. We spent 18 one curry and three bread-kemma paratha . I believe if they revised the prices they will get more customers because definitely I will not got second time to buy the food it is not worth to spend. We order lamb tikka rogan, Curry is average taste and lamb is not soft and not cooked well. To be honest we felt the it taste like onion and tomato curry. My rating for this restaurant 3/5"

"I've been a couple of times and it really made an impression as I particularly wanted to return when I happened to be staying in Leeds with my family. The atmosphere is lovely with live piano music, spectacular views over the canal and large high ceilings and chandeliers. The service is a little chaotic with someone offering us drinks and as they leave the table someone else approaching us from another angle to offer us more drinks. The food is very good and the drinks (all non alcoholic) offer a fair amount of variety but don't assume the lack of alcohol will reduce your bill! Soft drinks are five pound each. Pickles , poppadoms, and everything is charged separately. Children's meals are...read more"

"The restaurant has lovely decor and comfortable seating. It doesn't feel crowded, making it very COVID-friendly. The service was attentive but not overbearing, and the food was hot and very tasty. This place is the best saag distributor in North London!"

"I have never written a review before but felt really disappointed this eve. I ordered a dansak from here, which is one of my favourite indian dishes. I don't mind mediuim spiced food and every dansak I have ordered from other indian restaurants I have...never had a problem eating. However I took one mouthful and it was extremely spicy (even my husband who likes hot dishes said it was spicy for him), in fact it was even spicier than his hot chilli masala . I telephoned to check I had been given the correct dish and the person on the other end told me yes. I explained that I was unable to eat it and how I had, had this dish many times before but I wasn't offered any alternative. That said, my husband enjoyed his meal and thank goodness for the onion bhaji, naan and rice. It was just disappointing about my meal."

"The food is excellent and well-presented. The restaurant has a bustling environment that can be somewhat distracting. While it doesn’t feel particularly warm or intimate, the quality of the food makes up for the lack of atmosphere."

"I recently attended a pakora masterclass with my partner , and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch, with friendly staff ensuring everyone felt welcome. The highlight, however, was the food itself. Each pakora was bursting with flavor, showcasing the expertise of the chef leading the class. What impressed us most was how the class was structured—efficient and to the point. There was no time wasted, and every step of the process was explained clearly, making it easy to follow along. Whether you're a novice or an experienced cook, you'll undoubtedly learn something new. Overall, I highly recommend this masterclass to anyone looking to perfect their pakora-making skills. It's an enjoyable experience that leaves you with not only a satisfied palate but also valuable culinary knowledge. Kudos to the team for delivering such an exceptional experience!"

"Indian restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent had been highly recommended to me by friends, so my expectations were high. I placed my order online and picked it up shortly after. The food was delicious and piping hot, with generous portions. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, I was extremely impressed with my experience and will definitely be returning in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty Indian takeaway in the area. 5 stars!"

"The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. However, I believe there should be more sauces provided with the poppadoms. For a group of four, there should ideally be four bowls—two at each end—so that everyone can easily access the sauces without having to stretch. Unfortunately, the noise level and the language used by other customers were quite inappropriate, and the waitstaff did not address the issue."
