"The mixed grill was delightful, and I particularly appreciated that it included a Tiger Prawn. For a perfect five-star experience, the prawns need to be fresher, though. Unfortunately, the Sag Paneer was disappointing; it was just dry spinach with chunks of paneer, lacking any seasoning or additional ingredients. It was quite dry, so I might request some cream and garam masala on the side next time and mix it myself! The service was average for an Indian restaurant, deserving of three stars. The staff were friendly, and it was pleasant to dine there. It's great to see that the restaurant has significantly improved since our last visit a few years ago."

"This is our favorite spot for curries because they cater to all dietary needs, including allergies and gluten or dairy restrictions. The curries are always delicious and portion sizes are decent. We also love their Papadum pickles. Although prices can be a bit high, they often have specials on their website and offer discounts through email sign-ups. The staff is attentive and always makes sure we're satisfied. We usually visit on weekdays for a quieter experience, but even on busy Friday nights, we receive great service. The restaurant has a traditional décor and music which adds to the ambiance. If you're looking for high-quality Indian curries with fast and attentive service, I highly recommend this place."

"We ordered takeout from this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our food was ready on a busy Friday night. The restaurant was nearly full, which indicated to us that it was a popular spot for dining. Our meal was delicious and the service was friendly. I highly recommend trying the lamb rogan josh. "This is a hidden gem in Wapping. We have been its customer for over five years, and it never disappoints us. "Was staying in Portsmouth for a few days. Went to Purple mango Indian restaurant. Arrived a little early but that did not matter.Was shown to r table which was clean. Had a nice bottle of wine. Which was nice chilled. Good poppadoms a great selection of dips. For are starters we had mussels in lemon garlic also meat samosas they came lovely hot. For are mains we had king prawn masala ,garlic naan, sag aloo, chicken tikka masala, all very good lovely hot also had water at the table. Nice chilled. Had dessert chocolate mousse , strawberry dessert .very nice .to round of the evening coffee .very nice. Also Baileys on the house. Nice touch. Big shout out to are waiter Ali nothing to much trouble for him .All the waiting staff are very well dressed clean tidy.The restaurant is a lovely setting. Nice for couples or big groups of people.The owner Raji is lovely asked if are food was ok. At the end of the night he even called us a taxi back to are hotel. Which was very good him .would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in Portsmouth area. Lovely clean restaurant . Lovely friendly waiting staff. Food amazing.best Indian in town. Raji should be very proud of his team in Purple mango they all was working very hard Friday night."

"Excellent food and great service. This is one of my favourite restaurants anywhere. Even in the city centre, I haven’t found an Indian style restaurant where I like the food more. Starters were good but the main courses are exceptional. I had Juipiri, tried my friends Tikka Masala. All very good. Rice good and the Nan breads were pretty decent too. Parking nearby is available but you sometimes need to walk 5 minutes. The downside here is that the prices have gone up yet again. It seems that every time we go! £14.95 for my main, £8 starter, Nan and rice up too. Costs have gone up for restaurants, but so have my bills and my wages haven’t, so I either go here less often or find somewhere else. Sort your prices out!"

"Looked online at the menu and this place seemed like a jack of all trades. Doner kebabs to korma 's, pizzas to Peshawar naan........I ordered from there as its a stones throw away from my mums. Thought what the hell and ordered. Phoned them and asked how long it would be, told 20 mins. Went to collect food and guy couldn 't see order. Spoke to his pal and then found a note pad with my order. 7 minutes later the food arrives for me. My naan bread was more like a garlic pizza bread which was crispier than a deep fried won ton. My mum said her chips were hard, more hard than a slab of concrete. Overall, very disappointed in the quality."

"So where do I begin.... I thought I 'd try this establishment again after having a good ish experience, this time As a take away. Please understand I live 2 roads away from this restaurant and waited an hour and 5 minutes for my food! Whilst on the phone to an incompetent manager the food was received and was STONE cold! The excuse was given to me from the manager that yes it is only 25 minutes late what is the big problem which I brought to his attention that it was NOT 25 minutes late as I was told 30 minutes remember 1hour 5minutes! I requested a full refund in which I was called by a senior manager who was at home. This coward of a man is rude, unknowledgeable, incompetent and disgusting and is very lucky he has not met me in person! Especially after hanging up on me because he didn 't like it when I made a fool of his solutions as they were totally a joke. He started the conversation by calling me a liar, suggesting I TEXT him my bank details for a refund to which I declined for obvious reason, he then proceeded to shout and try to be sarcastic! Biggest mistake to make and didn 't like it when I put him in his place. Then demanded I never order from him again and that I was wasting my time as his restaurant was the absolute best I the area! HAHAHA funny mate. After an hour of arguing and him contradicting his own points I made sure he understood that receiving my refund immediately was the best solution as I would take this further. I will be seeing him"

"We booked by telephone after leaving a voicemail message... they call back and confirmed they could fit us in for a table of 9.. the waiter suggested we all have a mix tandor. Starter... assume this wpuld make it easy for the kitchen even thou the place was less than 1/2 full.... The starters where very nice... no probs.... Then the main course... everyone thought the food was very bland no spice or flavor to the meals... being the brave fool I wanted to send my meal back as I had selected a spicy kabab from the Cheifs special menu... so I expected some spicy and a bit of taste... both of which where lacking... I tried to get a watiers attention for 5 mins... and no one aas maming sure the table was happy... the only way I got attention was to phone from the table to ask for a waiter.... !!!!... never had to do that before... sent my meal back reordered a Balti of which they just made HOT probs to teach a customer who had dared to complain.. Never going back which is a shame as I entertain at least 5 or 6 customers every month.... too much goid food on offer in the area to go through that again....."

"We had been told this was a good restaurant, it is in a good location, nice decor and plenty of tables available on a Saturday night surprisingly. We had a very nice lamb and cashew starter, but the chutneys were very bland and we were charged for them which is new to me. All the other dishes were very average, lamb rogan josh more tomato than lamb and a sweet bland sauce, no salad with the tandoori which was very dry. It is a shame as the staff were lovely and service very good. Hope this was just an off day, but for now our hunt for the best Indian restaurant south of the river carries on!"

"We decided to try Little India as we are staying nearby on a visit from Glasgow and are both curry lovers. The fish pakora was fine, our mains were chicken madras and lamb vindaloo as we both like spicy food. These dishes were by far the best curries we’ve had for some time, absolutely delicious. Good atmosphere, the service was excellent as was value for money. Highly recommend."
