"came here for an early dinner before a concert and came here as the reviews were good and it is close to the utita arena. the entrance is located in the main street and then they go up to a beautiful open, clean room. pleasant welcome and offered a drink cobra at the take and a white wine. we ordered a main dish from specials, some bhajis (saag and mushroom and some papadums with relish. the papadums came fast and there was a bit of a waiting for the most important courses, plus the mushroom bhaji never arrived, but a wobble bhaji that we sent back. the quality and quantity was excellent. the total cost for 2 of us for a main course and 2 drinks were just under £30 each; i.e. medium price"

"Unfortunately, we were seated at a table in the lobby, which resulted in a chilly draft every time the door opened for staff or other diners. While this was not the most comfortable location, I assume the restaurant was trying to accommodate as many customers as possible while following social distancing guidelines. I was disappointed by the lack of Covid awareness at the restaurant. We were not prompted to sanitize our hands at any point, despite the NHS app check-in being conveniently located right next to our table. Throughout our two-hour visit (service was quite slow), not a single staff member mentioned the app or encouraged customers to use it. It is important to remember that the pandemic is still ongoing and safety measures like sanitizing and contact tracing should be a priority. I would like to thank the waiter with the colorful waistcoat who served us for including a thoughtful "happy birthday" message on my friend's dessert slate. It was a special touch that was appreciated."

"The food was excellent and the drinks were generous in size, but unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our group of 25 people had 3 tables that were adequate for us to sit at and chat, but we were not allowed to move or switch seats, which was inconvenient. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to join us at our tables and were instead sent to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were also told that the bill would be split evenly among the tables, but later discovered that food from one table had been added to another table's bill, causing confusion during payment. The staff spoke rudely to some of our guests when they tried to join full tables, instructing them to sit at an empty table instead. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future."

"So we moved near here but due to lockdown spent months imagining what it's like. Now we've been a few times, great pub, lovely decor inside and great atmosphere. Reasonably priced for most drinks, and the burgers are great. They're not the fat juicy burgers I normally see, it was more reminiscent of a bbq burger and it was a nice change. Loved the smokiness of the patty."

"The food and drinks at this restaurant were great, but the service was terrible. Our party of 25 people had 3 tables, which we understood, but we were not allowed to move or swap seats to talk to each other. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to sit with us and were sent downstairs to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were told each table would receive a separate bill, but then one table's food was added to another, making payment more difficult. The person in charge spoke rudely to our guests when they tried to switch tables, and ultimately combined two tables' bills despite telling us not to swap. We will not be returning to this restaurant due to the uncomfortable experience and rude treatment we received."

"we went to the kings head to celebrate my man birthday. we booked in advance and at first the things were not too bad, but after ordering the food everything went up to the hill! we arrived at 7.30 and at 8.30 we waited for the appetizer I ordered did not indicate that it sits on mayonnaise, so when it arrives, I sent it back because I mayonnaise did not eat. I was then told that another starter would last 10 minutes, so I didn't tell them to worry, and I would stick to it at the top of it myself, a minute later our waitress came with my new starter, which was actually the original that she had just moved to another plate and tried to point out the mayonnaise that it had on her! Therefore I told them that I didn't want it, and hour later our net arrived, which my friends was completely cold and very dry, so it was sent away, they removed net from the bill and told us that a big table they had had caused chaos that affected all the others in the restaurant! would not go back."

"we visited on a Saturday evening, introduced a table and could still go directly. not as busy as before. we both ordered the smoked salmon. they were very tasty, though very small and were eaten in 3 minutes. for the net I ordered the house made bark meat burger. it was very delicious and fresh. the only light weight was that the veg in the burger was so cold, almost ice cold that it made the burger itself cold. my wife ordered the garlic of stuffed chicken. again this was really delicious, but her only complaining was that it was in what looked and tasted like an Italian red sauce, not what was described on the menu. for desserts I ordered the cheeseboard that was really nice with a good selection and high quality cheese. my wife ordered the lemon carbcake they really enjoyed. we had a glass of wine and some coffee. really good service and beautiful atmosphere. the total price was £85, which I think is a fine culinary experience."

"Having purchased cakes in the caffe several times when staying in London I felt sure that afternoon tea there would be something special but sadly I was mistaken, they didn't seem to have any idea about my booking and we were sat at the back of the caffe, service took forever and when it arrived we were sadly disappointed, the tea was served in a tiny pot and it took me attempts to get some boiling water to top it up with, the sandwiches were mediocre with fillings not to our taste and the cakes were more like little deserts and extremely sickly, this was accompanied by quite dry scones but as we'd not had lunch we were both quite hungry so ate these, as neither of us could manage the rather sickly desert type cakes at the time we decided to take them with us rather than leave them as the afternoon tea wasn't cheap, this took a very long time to get organised and we had to chase the waiters several times before they finally arrived back with us in a takeaway container. The whole experience was that of organised chaos and having paid the bill as was part of an anniversary treat for my partner I felt ripped off. We would never go there again for tea and I will go back to buying the odd nice cake from there as and when I am in London"

"Very disappointing experience tonight. As a long standing customer who has always enjoyed the food I felt bullied and intimated this evening for pointing out that I had cracked a tooth on the food. I was told I was being rude and that if I complained the waiter would have to pay for my meal. I asked the person next to me if I had been rude and they said certainly not. I have generally enjoyed the food here but after tonight’s dreadful treatment I won’t be back. Go and enjoy the food which is okay but just hope you don’t experience a problem because your experience will turn sour if you raise a concern. Beware the customer service."

"First Indian restaurant we tried in UK based on mixed reviews but it was not at all Indian taste. All veg curries are nothing but boiled potatoes. Paneer tikka masala was deep fried paneer pieces dipped into tomato sauce. Only thing I found which was like India was roti. Not sure about non veg items but this place is not good for Indian vegetarians for sure."

"never had a bad one. always eat wonderful! we ordered very regularly during the shutdown. eating always comes hot and fresh and is delivered on time. our favourite dishes are tarka dansak (cut in nots) and say poneer with...runny cheese. the madras is excellent and tikka dishes always delicious. "Lets see, went in and was quiet, music was playing and was served by the waiter who sat us down. Both waiter and manager were friendly, they gave us honest opinions on the food, and when they thought that something would not suit our pallet they told us. Food was prompt and service flowed as it should. It is a shame that there were only 3 other tables of 3 and 5 there. An atmosphere would have created a perfect evening. Saying that I can not fault Food, Drink, Service or Hygiene. The fact that they have a window showing into the kitchen just builds my confidence that the hygiene standard it throughout the restaurant and not just the front. We will definitely be returning as I now have one of their loyalty cards and will get both offers and points. Perhaps we will bring a few more people with us. On a final note, the manager was talking to us about a Rajesh Khana Tribute night, would love to go there for that one. Seems to be a ongoing monthly events. Cant wait for them to start."

"Another fabulous night at Yara. A very busy lively vibe with plenty of lovely people all having a great time. There were 4 of us and we had kebabs, veg stew and Mousaka...as well as starters which I can never spell very well so I'll just say they were lovely. The staff are always super helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They have great advise and recommendations. If you haven't been recently ..can't recommend it enough. Food excellent....service excellent! We go almost weekly...always great."
