Had a great family meal this afternoon celebrating birthdays. Bailey was our waiter and he was brilliant. All the young staff are very good. Can’t fault the service.

A local pub that we have been using for several years. Now our children have grown up, we use it often for a drink, snacks and the occasional meal. A good menu and a wide selection of various drinks. A friendly and pleasant atmosphere set in the Essex countryside. Top marks to the management and staff, thank you.

I booked an afternoon tea for two, and I was very impressed. The table was beautifully set, and the staff were incredibly helpful throughout our visit. When my 3-year-old accidentally dropped her berries, one of the ladies working there noticed and kindly asked if she liked them. Without saying a word, she brought over a fresh portion to us. It was a lovely personal touch! The food was delicious and well worth the price. I will definitely book again!

The music, service, and food were all fantastic. We enjoyed a lovely walk with our dogs, and then had a wonderful, laid-back Sunday afternoon. The dogs sat quietly and happily on the benches while we savored the music and sunshine, accompanied by a few cold beers and a delicious late lunch. I highly recommend the chicken skewers—they were incredibly tasty! My son particularly enjoyed the Sir Henry burger. And be warned, the mixed grill is truly only for those with a very big appetite! We really enjoyed our Sunday dinner yesterday. The service was excellent, and the menu offered a great variety, including some fantastic specials. It’s conveniently located near Belhus Landpark if you'd like to explore the area afterward. I recommend booking a table in advance; we tried to come a few months ago, but the place was so busy (which is a good sign!) that we couldn't get a table. My steak was cooked to perfection, and we will definitely be back, especially in the summer to enjoy the lovely outdoor space!

We waited a long time for our food to arrive. I had only made it halfway through my soup when the waitress brought out our main courses. She quickly placed the plates on the table and left. My husband had to rush through his first course so that his fish and chips wouldn't get cold. When I started on my main course, I realized that it was missing avocado, even though it was supposed to be included. I had to ask the waitress to bring me some. Overall, the experience was disappointing. It was a special evening for us as we were celebrating our anniversary, and we feel that the service really spoiled the occasion.

Unfortunately, we were seated at a table in the lobby, which resulted in a chilly draft every time the door opened for staff or other diners. While this was not the most comfortable location, I assume the restaurant was trying to accommodate as many customers as possible while following social distancing guidelines. I was disappointed by the lack of Covid awareness at the restaurant. We were not prompted to sanitize our hands at any point, despite the NHS app check-in being conveniently located right next to our table.
