The food felt just like home-cooked meals and the flavors were so delicious that I ended up dining here two days in a row. "Worst curry I have ever had!!!! The veggie Madras was a watery potato stew with a chilli thrown in for good luck and my partner’s chicken masala had no flavour with a lot of water! Even the saag aloo had no taste and way too much spinach; should have used some of the potatoes from the Madras to even it out! Don’t bother wasting your time or money wasn’t cheap and nowhere near value for money! What we didn’t eat (and there was a lot) has been thrown in the bin!!"

"Although the food was nice, the experience was not! The manager was rude and did not make us feel welcome. Rushed us to order saying we had limited time at the table as it was booked for another group in 90 minutes. Then the food took forever to arrive. Waiting for the bill and for a waiter to come and take our payment felt like an eternity! We left 45 minutes after the time the manager said the next booking was due to arrive, they never came because there was no other booking! One waiter opened the door for us when we left and said thank you. That was the most polite any of the staff had been all evening. Very disappointing and no wonder the staff are miserable with a manager like that! We were looking for a place for the 8 of us to meet up regularly, it won't be at Vakas! Will never go there for a meal again!"

"I have ordered food from this restaurant several times now and have no complaints about the quality or price. However, the delivery service is very poor. The first time we ordered, we waited nearly 2 hours and I ended up walking to the restaurant to pick it up, only to receive a call from my wife saying the food had arrived while I was out. I tried calling to check on the order, but couldn't get through. Other reviews seem to agree with this experience. They also have a permanent advertisement for delivery drivers in the window, which might be part of the problem. It's a great curry house for collection since we are only 5 minutes away."

"I have enjoyed the tandoori chicken and fish starter from here in the past but last night the chicken leg was a bit small and when I opened the fish container, it smelt fishy even though it had been in the tandoor. So, it was not fresh. Also, the salad container has halved in size so you get just about enough for one starter. We ordered four and only got two. Maybe, it's time to go elsewhere"

"we had never visited this restorative before when we arrived at it not very busy, I think 4 tables were included. there were at least 5 waiters. we have ordered a beer and poppadome and then our order for our main. the dives with the poppadoms were watery, including the mango cutney. we ordered another beer, but our food had not arrived yet, I asked a waiter and he checked with the kitchen and he said it would be 5 miute, we waited 10/15 minutes, but still no eating, so we agreed that we would pay for what we had and go. we talked to another waiter to advise him about it, and he said that eating would be 5 minutes more. we said we were going, as we said 20 minutes ago. we had to go and pay and waited for the bill. all this time, when we bing said that it's coming, but it didn't really appear. the waiter who edited the bill, apologised, but did not offer a good willing discount, although I told him that it was our first visit there so that we ended paying £14.70 for 2 beer and 2 poppadome. When we left the time, we were in there for about 75 minutes. if they were busy, that could be understandable, but the waiters were just about most of the time."

"We stopped by for lunch while exploring the area. At first, I thought the restaurant was closed because it was so quiet, but the manager greeted us warmly. We ordered some Bombay-style snacks to nibble on, and they were quite spicy (I usually avoid spicy foods), but very enjoyable nonetheless. My partner's chicken starter was a bit too salty for our taste (we try to limit salt for health reasons), but the chef came over to chat with us and generously offered to prepare another chicken starter right away. He also adjusted our mains to suit our preferences. The mango lassi was delicious, as was the virgin piña colada. The portion sizes were great too (pictures were taken after we finished eating)."

"Platter for two consisted of two pieces chicken,two vegetable ,two mushroom .two haggis pakora s and 3 onion bhaji s with salad and a yellow coloured sauce. The sauce was like no other sauce I've had with panoramic and all the food was greasy and tasteless. The I had the lamb south indian garlic chilli with garlic and chilli naan bread. The lamb was horrible. Red and chewie and didn't taste nice. The naan was lovely though and honestly the only enjoyable part of the meal. Both of us had to run to the toilet after eating here. I definitely wouldn't recommend the food here."

"I thought I would start the week with a curry. Ordered online for a later collection. I fancied a change from my usual mixed grill and opted for my other favourite which is a Thali. Good portion size including chicken tikka, kebab, tikka masala and a lamb curry. This was washed down with rice and a naan bread. The tikka and kebab were quite nice. Well cooked and fairly well spiced. The two curries were ok. Nothing to write home about but perfectly acceptable. The naan was properly cooked and had a lovely flavour There was a lot of it and I was unable to finish it. I would recommend this place if you are after a decent good value meal."

"same place every time. Last night we decided to try the new Italian restaurant that just opened in town. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We started with some delicious garlic bread and bruschetta, followed by a creamy carbonara pasta and a flavorful margherita pizza. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portion sizes were just right. We left feeling satisfied and will definitely be returning to try more dishes from their menu.
