"I have enjoyed the tandoori chicken and fish starter from here in the past but last night the chicken leg was a bit small and when I opened the fish container, it smelt fishy even though it had been in the tandoor. So, it was not fresh. Also, the salad container has halved in size so you get just about enough for one starter. We ordered four and only got two. Maybe, it's time to go elsewhere"

While in Telford purchasing a car, we unexpectedly discovered this fantastic restaurant. The service was exceptionally friendly and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend it.

We have been enjoying the food here for years until tonight. Don't know if they have a new chef, but curries were watery, lacking flavour and the peshwari naan was almost plain. So disappointed we will be looking elsewhere

We regularly buy tandoori chicken and fish. The previous one was good but the latest did not seem fresh. The chicken was not moist and the fish was rubbery, the marinade having penetrated deeply into it. This is after a price hike. Not good enough

I recently had a fantastic dining experience at The Spice Merchant. We were looking for a restaurant to impress our guest from the South West and we are so happy we chose this place. I have been going to the Spice Merchant for years happily. I really like the tandoori chicken and fish starters but I have found the curries far too hot over the last year. What has changed? They seem to ladle on chilli oil. I would like to order curry with my delivery orders but they seem to have gone up a notch or two in terms of spice

Brilliant place on Poplar Rd Kings Heath. As ever a wonderful experience- byo is always good. Went for the poppadoms as a nibble whilst reviewing the menu the shared tandoori king prawn lamb chops before the too hot for me Lamb Madras my ubiquitous Butter Chicken! All good. Accompanied by plain garlic naan a delicious pilau rice. Great service fantastic place
