"Our second visit Wow, this place rocks. We went with two friends, as always, the staff are excellent, very polite and friendly, the owner has an enduring smile and a personality to match. The food was excellent, all 4 of our group enjoyed a memorable meal. Interestingly this restaurant is busy even on a cold and damp Thursday evening, that tell you loads. Oh yes, I had the chilli sausage as a starter and the Nepali beef, which melted faster than butter. Well done, thoroughly enjoyed the food, the generosity of the staff and the ever-smiling owner. धन्यवाद"

"The first thing you realise as you enter this place is: it's full! Then, sequentially, the following truths dawn upon you: a) all the guests are Indian b) there are singers and there is live singing c) all the staff is Asian After this, nothing else matters much. I ordered a tandoori pomfret (noice) followed by mutton kadai with lachcha paratha. Also, a fruit mocktail. The waiters were clearly overworked. My server was Amit, but others helped too, such as Heena and Saurav. The crowds were singing along with the lead singer... Both male, and female. Nice food. Great ambience."

"Very slow service, food was good but when you're starving you'll eat anything. We went there before a concert. Arrived at 18:15, it took them 15 minutes to take our order. 20 minutes later our shared starter arrives. Other people arrive, saying that they are going to the same concert down the road as we are and would like fast service. 15 minutes later they get served. 15 minutes after that we get served. More than an hour after sitting down to get our main course. Asked for the bill and to pay when the main arrived, had to seek them out after to pay. Should've walked out. The excuse for the late service was that we had a starter. 1 starter. Right."

"pho is a great option if you are looking for a vegan clear broth nudel soup and have no time to go through all mother and pop lists to find something more authentic (and vegan.) what is beautiful at pho, they offer at least two vegan broths, one is closer to normal broth and the other is a spicy broth (but tends to be very keen. I was sincerely a bit underwhelmed by both broths at several Pho sites, but they can still add many sriracha and other toppings to their tasting. I love her tofu, which is very porous and holds a good volume of broth in the inner. the phosuppe is with the very thin phonos (not my favorites) and the spicy suppe is with the thick/round noodles, like spaghetti noodles (I love this nudel option.) my general judgment is that is great if they are in an prise or have to find a place that will satisfy vegan and nonveganer equally, as it is virtually everywhere that there is phospie. but I am more inclined to choose a local mother and pop if it is an option. I also found the version that is incompatible with Pho sites."

"If you're planning a visit to Bristol for a short getaway, business trip, or if you're considering relocating, this restaurant is a must-visit! The atmosphere is great, with fantastic rustic decor. The food is amazing, bursting with flavor. This is not your typical British curry house, but rather a place that serves Indian street food, offering authenticity to your meal. We tried a sharing platter, which allowed us to sample a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious and not overly spicy. For mains, I enjoyed the butter chicken from Delhi while my partner had the Goan fish, both of which were fantastic and full of flavor. The fish literally melted in our mouths. The naan bread was not the usual stodgy half loaf, but a thin cheese and chili naan, which left us feeling satisfied but not uncomfortable or too full. The service was excellent, despite it being a busy Friday night. We recommend booking a table in advance, which was easy to do through their website. There is plenty of seating inside, with additional outside seating, perfect for summer evenings. If we ever find ourselves in Bristol again, we will definitely return to this restaurant."

"This restaurant continues to impress with its excellent food, making it the go-to spot for an authentic Indian cuisine experience on the South Coast. Their BYOB policy also makes it quite affordable. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"I would like to start off my review with praise for the staff and the decor of the establishment. I absolutely loved the unique decoration of the inside of the restaurant, from the strobes of multicoloured lights, the glass mosaics and drawings and the Afghan Styled (as I had been informed) seating in the lower end of the restaurant, which was not made for our family style but we are very sure is much appreciated by those who do use it. The staff was very helpful for my visit, I would like to thank the waiters and the hosts who were always alert for their kind hospitality, as well as the chef 's for their nice food. in my most humble opinion, the food was very good, though could be improved. Overall I 'd give my visit a mediocre 7/10 and will definitely recommend this establishment to families and friends. follow me for more reviews on restaurants x"

"Chutneys offers a great vegetarian lunch buffet. It is one of a small number of restaurants on Drummond Street doping so, and a fraction cheaper than some of the better known names, but the food is every bit as good and offers excellent value. There's a good selection of cold salads often centred round pulses with warm onion bhajis and roti to start the roti were the only slightly disappointing part of the whole meal as they were a little tough ! . Main dishes includes lentils, chickpeas, mushrooms and cauliflower in distinctive curries, with rice and a good selection of pickles. And there's also dessert with milk jellies and a nice variety of fresh fruit. I had a sparkling lemon and mint drink made to order not from a can it was very nice too, but slightly expensive. But they will just provide you with tap water, and also sell lassis. Note that it's not vegan I heard another diner ask which dishes were, and most were not vegan as many contain yoghurt or ghee. But for vegetarians it's great! Note that the buffet is not served at weekends, I believe."

"Booked a table the day before our visit which was a good move as it was fairly busy. The restaurant is licence and has Cobra on draft, has an extensive menu, and is good value for money. The waiters were very friendly and helpful, the service was good, not too quick not too slow, and the food was excellent. If you like curry it’s worth a visit if you’re in Seahouses, I found the curries milder than I normal have, but the flavours were excellent. Recommended"

"Excellent meal, as always. Portions are generous and it always arrives freshly cooked. We visit this Bangladeshi restaurant quite frequently and of the view that the food is hard to beat. Until recently the restaurant didn’t hold a liquor licence and guests could take along their own alcohol, which was always a real plus for keeping the costs down. They didn’t even charge a corkage fee which was always a bit of a surprise. Our visit the other night was a shock to learn that, under a new owner, alcohol has now to be purchased from the menu (although regular guests are told they have some grace time to learn of this). In my opinion this is a mistake and will certainly impact upon our decision to attend as frequently as we did do. The absence of customers (we were the only ones in there) on what should be a busy night might support our view. Such a shame to lose this rare benefit at what is otherwise an excellent culinary experience. If it had to change, introduce a corkage fee, rather than abolish ‘bring your own alcohol’ you may live to regret it!"

"I had a great experience at Bombay Bicycle Chef. I ordered the Chicken Biryani, Squid Rings, and Cheesy Naan, all of which were delicious. The 50% promotion definitely made the meal feel more worthwhile. I'll need to check the actual prices to see if I agree with their value. The Mango Lassi was incredible, though I was disappointed that they did not serve cocktails or mocktails. I would definitely return!"

"Last night I ate at the south bank tandoori with a friend who is dad, recommend the restaurant. we went to a impulsive decision after we decided that we felt too lazy to make our own dinner, so we decided to spend money that we had not, oh student life! we arrived at the very full restaurant and managed to get a table for two immediately. it was jam, a good sign for promising eating. we had a series of options on the menu from which we chose a selection. they have taken the ones to my friend a kartoffel corma rather than chickens (as it is vegetarian) very nicely. the service was a little strange, they explained that they were understaffed, but the team of the staff...read more"

"We went to this pretty traditional Indian restaurant with a good friend to visit London. We chose the menu for two for £27. For that price you have onion bhajis, then a chicken tika masala and chicken curry with a side of sag aloo goa. We ordered an extra portion of taka dal. The sag aloo dal and had a good taste but the curry was quite sosa and I'm not sure they were just made. The service seemed a little ropy sometimes too much, especially when one of the waiters connected to my friend as he finished his start. I had the general feeling that the waiters were more interested in ensuring the orderly development of liquidating tables of the comfort of their comensals. In general, the quality of the food does not reach the cost that ended up being 60 pounds for two with wine. There are certainly other Indian restaurants in the Notting Hill and Bayswater area as they deserve our best."

"I dined at this restaurant on Saturday evening with five friends after receiving a recommendation from a family member. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the restaurant was empty except for two other diners, and the lighting was very bright and unwelcoming. Despite the initial setback of the staff being unaware of our booking and not having a table prepared for six, they quickly rectified the situation and we were attended to by a very attentive waiter. Our food selections were excellent, but the waiter's recommendations were even better. I would recommend this restaurant, however, the ambiance could be greatly improved by adjusting the lighting and upgrading the tableware. Adding tablecloths and candles would also enhance the dining experience. A more welcoming atmosphere could potentially attract more customers."

"Upon arriving at Gurkha Village, one might initially feel uneasy. Located in a converted pub in a run-down area, the restaurant's appearance is not very inviting. Despite booking a table for Sunday lunch, we were the only patrons there during our meal. The staff, although attentive, seemed to have no other customers to attend to. The decor and menu lacked any distinct Nepalese influences, which was disappointing as that was the reason we chose to dine there. It seemed like just another Asian restaurant in the Medway area, where competition is fierce. As for the food, it was decent. The lamb pasanda had a nice smoky flavor that was not overwhelming. It was a refreshing change from the usual curry house options. I tried the chicken dhansak, which also had a unique fruity taste. The dining area and bathrooms were clean, and I can see Gurkha Village becoming a popular takeout option for locals in the future."

"I arranged a work get together for 6 and arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Apart from one couple there were no other diners for lunch. We were impressed by the decor and the food was good, served promptly and reasonably priced. All good up to now. At 13:40 the table was cleared and the waiter said “Do you want anything else because we shut at 14:00” OMG! How to spoil what was an enjoyable lunch."
