"Ate here on two occasions over the past month. Best thing probably the coffee which comes with nice tablet. For brunch I had a roll and Square sausage which was ok although sausage slightly burnt. My partner enjoyed her avacado toast dish. On another occasion we probably made a bad choice of starter when we picked focaccia with cheese. This was a lot of eating and a bit too much for us to eat. For my main I had tagliatelle with beef. The pasta was ok but some of the beef was a bit tough and actually tasted like a peparami! I will probably eat there again although I will be a bit more cautious when I choose my food."

"Absolutely disgusting service and food. We were left for an hour at the bar and when we were asked to be seated the waitress said, “oh sorry I thought you were chatting” we knew this was a lie and when we made a complaint the chef came out to apologise because it was his fault. There was only “one chef” in the kitchen. This was also a lie. The chef showed us pictures of the ceiling collapsing from the bad rain from the night before. Surly they should have shut the kitchen!!! They gave us complimentary glasses of wine which then accumulated fruit flies in them!! My food was mediocre and my friend’s muscles was uncooked and had to be spat out. The manager did not give us anything complimentary/take anything off the bill for this horrible service and food. DO NOT EAT HERE."

"I recently had lunch at this restaurant and was very impressed. The price per person ranged between £20-£30. The food was excellent, I would give it a 5 out of 5. The service was also top-notch, receiving another 5 out of 5 rating. The atmosphere was quite nice, scoring a 4 out of 5. Overall, I had a great dining experience and would highly recommend this restaurant for a meal."

"We are regular visitors as we knew the owner from many years at Rinaldis. We often get emails offering 20% off which means we can come more regularly. Last night there was some confusion over the 20% and we were charged for 2 course meals which we hadn’t had. We had shared a garlic tomato bread and had 3 pizzas. We queried the bill but it was as though they didn’t want to give us it. As a result, the young girl tried to sort it and even though the bill was cheaper than the previous bill, £6.15 service charge had been added. We’ve been coming here since the restaurant opened and I’ve never been charged service charge as I always leave a tip. So in the end the 20% was a waste of time and was barely a saving. The stress of sorting it all out was such a hassle so won’t be going now. There was an older guy there who may have been the manager but he didn’t say anything about it. When we left, nobody said goodbye or thank you. Disappointing."

"I stayed here during my 2023 John O'Groats to Lands End ride, when I was accompanied by my wife and 13 year old son, who were acting as support crew. The Sun Hotel is a quirky boutique hotel housed in an historic building with extensive accommodation located above the pub and accessed via a unique flight of stairs and a labyrinth of intriguing corridors set out on different floors. Indeed, as you wander through, you are able to learn much about its character and history from many informative notes displayed on the walls. We shared a snug family room with a camp bed for our son but we were very comfortable. Our ensuite bathroom was clean and bright with a bath, shower and toiletries provided. The usual kettle, tea and coffee were provided but with limited alternative options. Make sure you turn off the provided digital alarm clock before slumbers unless you need an early start! There are truly are some larks out there. The room was a little noisy overnight where it was overlooking the street at the front – a combination of late night revellers and morning deliveries – but this is to be expected when you stay in the heart of a city. Lancaster was literally right on our doorstep. The staff were incredibly welcoming and approachable even before our stay responding promptly to any queries we had. We enjoyed dinner in the pub on the ground floor which was not overly noisy with a good atmosphere and attentive staff. The food was good and inexpensive, especially if you share a platter. Having booked direct with the hotel, our stay included breakfast from a set menu, served in the bar area downstairs. This was extensive ranging from the traditional cooked full English breakfast to many plant based and fruit alternatives, including pancakes, acai smoothie and granola jar. It is advisable to pre book this the night before to reduce waiting times in the morning if you are in a rush. Tea, coffee and fruit juice freely available The hotel is found on a complicated one way system with heavy traffic but well handled by Google. The cycle route approaches on quiet canal path but I did push up a one way street to the hotel rather than cycle a circuitous route around the one way. The only drawback is that there is no onsite parking not a problem if you only have a bike. At the time of our stay, there was paid street parking outside the hotel on the road for up to 1 hr or free overnight from 6 pm until 8 am. We would advise checking Google for parking locations beforehand to find alternatives, especially if the recommended nearby multi storey parking is not suitable because of a roof box, etc. My bike was locked away in a cellar inside, down a steep flight of stairs and only accessible by staff."

"While the food and drinks were generally ok, unfortunately the service wasn’t. We were waiting for a long time despite there being hardly anyone in the restaurant. The staff brought a main meal our with the starters we were flexible and accepted it but with no thanks or apology. The staff just weren’t very proactive for example we had to ask for more drinks, after waiting a good 15 mins with empty glasses. And to top it all off, the female manager with silly pink hair seemed to have a massive chip on her shoulder. It was our friends birthday and I had made them their favourite cheesecake. I asked them if they could provide some plates for us to eat it after our meal, but she rudely proclaimed that they couldn’t do it for cross contamination, but we didn’t ask them to take it to the kitchen we would’ve quite happily cut it ourselves at the table. Ok fair enough if that’s the policy for people to not bring their own desserts in I get it, they are a business but just be honest about it, and be nice about it! There was no need for her attitude, and it completely ruined our friends birthday celebration. Not that she would be the type of person who cared anyway. Unfortunately, because of the manager, we won’t be back!"

"I treated my mother to a birthday brunch at Two Sisters restaurant last Sunday. We were warmly welcomed and given the rundown of brunch options, including buffet or specials, and the ability to make substitutions like turkey bacon instead of pork. This is a perfect spot for a leisurely brunch, especially for a mother-daughter outing. The food and service were excellent. We used a Groupon for our visit, but we'll definitely be back even without it. It was definitely worth it."

"My son and I entered because I was wanting to treat him to a pre Christmas dinner. So we saw on the menu a deal for a course dinner. Little did we know that we would be charged for both courses separately despite the deal. So having a read through the menu a turkey dinner seemed rather tempting so we both ordered that. We also asked for coke what we received was watered down dirty dish water that they said was pepsi. The food arrived and it was the equivalent of a care home meal. Frozen veg potato cut in half! Some stringy bland turkey. All floating in bland gravy. Our deserts where mediocre and the portion size was appallingly small. The audacity to charge People for that horrendous meal my son and I then left and got some burgers from the Glasgow market festival which where far more adequate and had flavour. We shall not be returning"

"We had a great night on Saturday, 19 of us celebrating my partners 50th. (Apologies to any of the other guests if they found us to be too loud ????). Given the size of the party we were asked to pre order, which wasn't an issue. We were meant to be a party of 20 but a last minute cancellation was no problem for them. Food was great, service was fabulous and would definitely recommend. Thank you for looking after us ????"

"I absolutely adore this restaurant. I went on a Saturday evening with friends and family, and the atmosphere was lively. There was a live singer performing classic swing songs, which added to the fantastic ambiance. The food was delicious - the bruschetta was exceptional, and my son gave the calamari a glowing 'amazing and beautiful' review. The pizzas were freshly made and a good size, and I heard that the pasta dishes were also fantastic. As a bonus, Giuseppe himself came around to speak to each table, making the evening even more special. This restaurant offers classic rustic Italian cuisine and is definitely worth a visit."

"I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday evening. The staff were lovely, and the food was fantastic, especially the great two-course special for just £13.00. Since I only live 25 minutes away, I will definitely be coming back. My only minor complaint was the £11.00 price for a glass of wine, but my wife said it was very nice—though I was the one paying... again! Overall, it was a great dining experience. Service: Dine in, Meal type: Dinner."

"I visited this restaurant with a group of friends whom I hadn't seen in a long time. The atmosphere was great, the food was fantastic, and the staff were polite and friendly. We had a great night overall. However, when we went to pay for our meal, we were informed that they only accepted card payments and not cash. The only exception was for tips, which they accepted in cash. There was no information posted on the restaurant door or anywhere else indicating this policy. Thankfully, we all had cards with us, but it could have been a problem if we didn't. They should make it clear on their doors and remind customers before seating them of their cash-only policy for payment."

"After a 6 month delay we finally managed to get out for our 1st Anniversary dinner at La Gavroche, where they’ve offered the same cheese soufflé every night since it was first served in the 60’s, by the late Michel Roux; we could have eaten 10. Michel Jr came over to check on us 3 times between the 12 courses throughout the night and knew my dietary requirements by heart. Identical twins moved around the restaurant baffling diners into submission as they served with stoic grace and wheeled around the larger than life cheese cart. What a service. What a treat"

"I dont understand the bad reviews. Service was amazing, quickly brought out our food which was very up to standard in mine and my boyfriends opinion especially for the cheap prices. Staff were polite and efficient. We ordered the Dolce Piccanto pizza and the Rigatoni Arrabbiata- both perfectly cooked and served. Thank you for having us"
"Staff Were very Friendly Service was Good, Nice Environment/Atmosphere Food was Delicious however was a bit of A mix up. Me and my Partner Are Veggie/Vegan, I was ordering starters that didn’t have meat but asking for the vegan version anyway just to make myself clear (to avoid a mix up) We ordered vegan pizza, and vegan pasta For mains Though when I Ordered I don’t think I Asked for the pasta to be vegan, but assumed cause everything else was she would put it through The till as vegan It came out and bf tried it first and instantly knew it was real Chicken, we did ask just to clarify if it was and what had happened regarding the mix up, and me And the waitress who was super nice agreed it was both of our fault, she did say she would replace it and get a new one made but I didn’t like to see food go to waste and having worked in restaurants kinda knew it Was just go in the bin, so we just ate it Everything else was great and as I Say the mix up Was my fault so "

"Passed through on my walk of the Essex Way in the May day bank holiday weekend. The previous 2 pubs I had tried were closed and I was hankering for an evening meal and a rest so I came to the Windmill not realising how fancy it was! Despite that and my less than ideal attire, the waitress was as an an angel to a weary traveller and found me a seat. After a bread basket with a deliciously salty spread, a cauliflower risotto and of course a chilly pint, a man on the edge walked another few miles or so into the night and slept happily in the woods with a smile on his face. I will have to return one day the classiness of the place mixed with its quaint but very highly refined pub vibe is exquisitely peaceful and the food is like dining on dreams. Only giving it 5 stars because 1000 isn't an option."

"The food at this restaurant was fantastic! I highly recommend trying the garlic bread with cheese, it was absolutely delicious. However, the service was a bit slow as we had to wait about 15/20 minutes to place our order. There was also a slight confusion with payment, as we had already paid when another person asked us if we were paying with cash or card. Despite this, the staff were very polite. Overall, I would rate the food a 5, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 5. I would consider this place for a dine-in dinner option, with prices ranging from £10-20 per person."

"From the offset trying to make the booking for 16 people online was a bit of a nightmare. Felt as though Luca was not listening to my request which was initially for 20 people and kept going on about deposits which I understand and the link for paying it which by the time it arrived I’d already booked online and paid the deposit as it was less stressful. My calzone was burnt on top which an attempt was made to conceal this by covering it in tomato sauce. We paid a whopping £43 service charge and to be honest the level of service we received did not reflect this. Then I was told we had the table until 8.30pm however just after 8pm we were told there is another booking after us so we were given the bill and practically thrown out onto the street via the fire exit at 8.15pm, one of my friends had literally just finished eating. It felt very rushed. Prior to this I enjoyed coming to this restaurant but I think I’ll be giving it a miss for a while."
