Normally I would avoid a french restaurant at all costs in order to avoid the typical snooty know it all french waiter. "The food was terrible. I couldn’t even drink the coffee, the croissant was too oily and it wasn’t made with puff pastry. No comments about the Royale eggs two bricks with a sticky sauce. First time I need to write a review complaining about the food of a restaurant in London. Don’t go, there’s plenty of fantastic places for brunch in London which are even cheaper than this one. The fake lavender decoration doesn’t deserve these prices."

"On one of the hottest days the air conditioning was playing up but no attempt was made to bring in fans. The breakfast was lovely however it took almost an hour to come and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. Not sure if the breakfast is cooked for the hotel attached and this is the problem. The service wasn’t very good. Staff were rude asking if everything was ok but walking away before we answered. Not bringing any butter for about 10 minutes after it was asked for or tap water given the sweltering temperatures. Definitely wouldn’t return. I had booked this restaurant months ago after reading good reviews but our experience wasn’t very good."

"Food was consistently cold and even when sent back returned luke warm. Despite failure to get starters right, the second course was also cold. Servers were kind and considerate, but inexperienced. The manager done his best to save situation, taking dishes off bill and a round of free drinks. Which was appreciated. "just after the reopening it was not sure how it would be. you go in, get your temperature scanned and you sit when you come by (I don't know what happens when your attempt looks suspicious). we sit on them between tables with people who are not really looking for a safe distance. we wanted to try the scrambled eggs and cornish crab however due to the reduction of the available items, this was not on the menu, but if we asked for it, our waiter went into the kitchen and got them to make it. they would highly recommend for their quality of food and first class service!"

"an art brillance. the spaghetti lobster is the best you can find in Britain. the lobster is fresh, the sauce is slightly brownish, but a perfect pairing with the white meat, and the **** fairy are so made that they are their preferred amount of tabasco and worcester sose, super. from the pictures you can also see that I had a cote de rhone. the wein has always been excellent and affordable. I also love the service attentive, but never dizzy. no hurry and no push, just perfect. the owner is a real soul, funny and just a pleasure to be around. we know him for many years and it is always great to see him no matter how long the gap in time. cocktails, like the espresso martini, possibly the best in brighton at half price. I have eaten in many fish restaurants all over the world and the regency restaurant has still been rated as one of the best."

"After dining at this restaurant multiple times, I made a reservation for dinner with three friends and was extremely let down by the decline in quality. The cocktails lacked flavor, the wine was tasteless, and all the food was overly salty. The lemon sole was overcooked, the butter sauce tasted burnt instead of nutty. The aubergine main dish was small and lacked flavor, more suitable as a starter. The halloumi main was bland and the sole goujons were lukewarm at best. The dessert, rhubarb frangipane, tasted like a subpar Bakewell tart with minimal rhubarb, and the Balthazar coupe was overly sweet. At a price of £270, this meal was far too expensive for the subpar quality. I am unsure if there has been a change in management at this restaurant, but I was truly disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended it to my friends. I will not be returning or suggesting this restaurant to others in the future."

I went this place to buy Fortnum Mason tea for presents and this place is definitely better place to buy teas than the one in piccadilly. The staffs here are super friendly which made the whole shopping experience extremly satisfying. It is much less crowded than the piccadilly store so you can take your time. If you are not up to buy the Rare teas which are only offered in individual packaging, you would be able to find everything you want. Also you can buy in individual packaging for normal teas if you want to. It has a special blend named Royal Exchange Blend only sold in this store. I prefer this one to the original royal blend. This store is the latest built one among the Fortnum Masons so it is super clean. I highly recommend this place!!!"

"Sat down, days ago there to do some work on my laptop. Ordered a Hot Chocolate and macarons, looked suspicious as he didn’t type it in the system after still no one checked up on me or even asked or said anything. The...table that sat down after me got served. I had times the waitress looking at me, shortly after I realized i’m not welcomed there and also i’ve been looked down by them. It took me some time since i was busy on my laptop, but i guess that could be reason why they were not welcoming. Certainly packed my bags and left slowly and steady they had the same look during packing my stuff and still did not even bother with me, just straight up left me without even consider getting my order. Would never visit and also would definitely leave lower then if i could."

"We had a lovely lunch at Bentley’s. The kitchen are truly specialists when it comes to seafood. We had the Fish and Chips, the Caesar Salad with Lobster under the specials of the day, and the Baked Scallops. The Baked Scallops were the best I’ve ever had in my life and the Caesar Lobster Salad was truly delicious. My friends naturally had the oysters and said they were tasty. The bartender was top notch as all cocktails were fantastic. I recommend their special spritz, perfect for summer! The sommelier was also very helpful, quite attentive, and had a great personality. He loves his job. Our Dover Sole took a bit too long to come out and we had a little mix up with the cocktail order, but the staff bounced right back up and continued delivering great service. "What a lovely find. From the start the staff were friendly taking us to our table. The restaurant is warm and friendly and clean it was nice to see that they still offered hand sanitizer at the table which my friends were happy about). The menu was small but perfect offering a variety of starters, mains and desserts for all pallets. There were 6 of us on a Saturday night. We all had different starters of which mine, the avocado and prawns was big, the prawns fresh and meaty and the sauce was a plenty. My husband had the monk fish tempura which he said was very tasty. Out of 6 of us 4 of us had the steaks on the hot stone A MUST. Delicious!! The waitress was very keen to explain how the meat continues to cook on the stone so ensured we asked for the meat finish we wanted ensuring that the steak didn't over cook. There was a slight misunderstanding between the kitchen and the order ie a few side dishes were incorrect. Before we could even say anything to be honest it was fine) the waitress said all sides would be free I mean that was so kind of her and made us very happy. All sides including the potatoes and veg were delish and the other 2 who had veal were also very happy. I must admit we were stuffed and couldn't manage desserts but they did sound and look lovely. Overall I would highly recommend for any night of the week for it's food, its customer service and for somewhere a little different Well done all at Ray's we'll be back"

"Not sure what to say we were excited to come and had emails about food requirements, but the email was missed and we were held responsible for it I think the staff was overly stressed and therefore slightly upset. Because the reaction we got when we asked what could be done about no vege option was really like an aggressive shutdown strange at the end they had a vegetable option, although at the beginning a whole lot of incredible bad service, if it was easily avoided with service backgrounds themselves, we were all just a little speechless. "Having made a booking at 14:15 I thought it was a good idea to have this lunch meeting where one could have some privacy without being placed away from soothing ambiance ! The rear dining room was ours for three hours! The service was attentive yet not bother some. In fact the manager said we could stay until dinner as the restaurant never closes during the day. Ordered 2 specials of the day. King prawns with grilled endive which was superb and moules in a rich buttery and hint of garlic bouillon . This Aubaine is a great secret when in Mayfair near the galleries and luxury brands of Bond Street. And yet you feel worlds away from a busy London."

"As regulars of this restaurant, and numerous good Sunday lunches here, we booked for a Saturday night. The waiter came to clear our starter plates away, but only took 3 left the other 3 in front of us. We sat there for sometime whilst trying to get the attention of one of the staff as we wanted to order more drinks the remaining plates taken away. We were seated on the round table in the window, so felt we were slightly out of sight. Eventually I had to get up to ask a waitress to remove the plates ask to order some more drinks. 2 of us ordered Monkfish Saganaki for our main meal, which at £27.50 was not a cheap dish. Whilst my friend had a nice tidy pile of rice with his fish, my plate looked like someone had thrown the rice on with their hands. The fish was dry, grey overcooked. It certainly had not been marinated in any of the sauce, but a dollop just thrown on the top of the fish. I have attached a picture. We called the waitress over who agreed it looked terrible went to get the Maitre D. His response was “it looks ok to me”. He didn’t offer to remove the dish or offer an alternative he was totally oblivious to the standard of food being served up which was under par extremely disappointing. Only one person out of 6 was happy with their meal last night. There were numerous other problems with the evening too, but will make this review far too long if I list them all! Unfortunately we will definitely not be using this restaurant any time soon which is a shame as we’ve had some great times, but the standard has slipped drastically."
