"Prebooked a table for people. We were crammed on a person table if that despite the restaurant being practically empty with much bigger tables. It was clear we were struggling and not once were we offered the chance to move. We had to...call someone over to take our drinks order. She didn’t come to take the order for at least minutes after saying she was coming then one drink never turned up so after about minutes of waiting we had to ask for it again. The food arrived at the same time which was good but unfortunately nobody had cleared our salad bowls so we couldn’t fit the mains on properly and some plates were practically bare. There was only a quarter of rotisserie chicken left when we ordered so we had to swap to a chicken breast which was ok but when a lot of the food is fatty and the ribs are undercooked without the bbq sauce on at all like stated on the menu that isn’t acceptable. It was very clear the staff were keeping the guests in one area of the restaurant for their convenience but it backfired when someone from the door marked ‘Private’ shouted something so loudly every guest turned and looked in shock. There was no explanation or apology. The staff just came out one by one smiling and laughing after they’d all rushed through to the back to see what was going on. Very unprofessional! It’s my first time visiting Wales and I’d had this Harvester recommended to me but I’ll never go back to it no matter how many times I visit in the future!"

"had a fantastic night cocktail in revolution for a friend hen at night yesterday. the manager tom was an amazing host, and carter who took our master class was very professional and fun. Although we make a few cocktails in the evening, we both felt especially and not just another group of customers. well worth the money, especially the double money offer. we had planned to hike the wind street after, but the atmosphere and the music was so good, we stayed and danced the night away. "Today, we visited the restaurant for my son's 11th birthday celebration with his friends. We ordered our main dishes and milkshakes from the menu. We wanted to order dessert, but we only had 25 minutes before we had to leave for laser tag. We inquired with the server if we would have enough time, and she assured us that we would. We decided to order 4 desserts. Unfortunately, only 2 desserts arrived after 5 minutes, while the other 2, including the one for my son's birthday, arrived just as we needed to leave. This 20-minute delay in serving the desserts caused my son to be upset as we had to rush through his birthday dessert. As a result, we were late for laser tag and missed a game. When I questioned the delay, I was informed that it was due to a new chef and was left with no further explanation. We also requested a balloon for each child, which was not provided, despite other children of similar age receiving them. When we inquired about the balloons, the server confirmed but never brought them. The food was mediocre, as we expected. Overall, it was one of the worst cases of service we have experienced."

"a few days ago, since I and my friend got a student discount. first opinions, once I went, was how attentive and friendly our server was. they really seem to care for customer service, so I don't know why there are many reviews on the contrary. we ordered immediately and food came quite fast, which was good. the food was breathtaking. my God the burger was beautiful the onion rings even more. I could eat these onion rings in buckets that were so good. the drinks were quite expensive to be honest as I don't want to pay £2.30 for water. but I feel that Byron brings a beautiful aura to cambridge and I would be happy back hundreds of times and is recommended to friends and family."

Tables were not clean outside, staff member looked like he just woke up and the shift runner even did not know that Burger Joint does discount for students. In the end, I was told I could get a discount of 8% which I was confused about but could not be bothered to argue as I just wanted to leave the place where I was not made welcome. "Had reservation for 17.30 but had issues with public transport so called restaurant and they were happy to put back our time to 18.00hrs. Ordered Halloumi Fries and Haggis Fritters to share,i had a beef burger and partner had rib eye steak.Waited a little while on order and everything came at same time.Well worth the wait though. Received bill and was charged £42 for bottle of Prosecco,according to website it should only have been £28.Mentioned this to waiter and he adjusted the bill accordingly. "We live in Dorset but my In-Laws live in Cambridge and we have had several great family celebrations at the Felix Hotel, including a wedding last April. Therefore it seemed the perfect place to take my In-Laws to for Christmas lunch this year. I booked early and a few weeks before Christmas I got a phone call from Reception to say they were e-mailing the Christmas Lunch menu to me for us to make our choices. The menu did not arrive, so I telephoned the hotel and they apologised and said they would re-send it. Again, it did not arrive, so I telephoned again to be told that they had sent it, twice, to the wrong address. On Christmas Day we arrived at the restaurant where a young woman, who was walking around with a piece of paper in her hand, looked at me and said Yes? No greeting, no smile, no Happy Christmas, no welcome.We were shown to our table, where we were basically abandoned. After 20 minutes, having not been approached by a member of staff or been offered bread, water, or anything else I sought out the Barman and asked if we could have our 'Welcome Drink ' (as featured on the menu) which he brought to our table. We were then told that as we had not pre-chosen our menu there would be a delay in serving our lunch. I assured the young woman (the unsmiling one who had showed us to our table) that we had indeed e-mailed our menu choices and she then disappeared to look for the e-mail. When the food finally arrived it was delicious but we were left for long periods between courses and served by a variety of waiting staff who, without exception, were curt and clearly would rather have been elsewhere. Finally, when I went to pay the bill, I was given the wrong bill and the same miserable young woman as before was clearly irritated when I questioned it. I wrote to the Manager to express my disappointment with our Christmas experience but have had no acknowledgement from the hotel. Sadly, we will not be returning and would not reccommend it to anyone."

"Okay people, they have upped the game for vegan Sunday roasts! The vegan Wellington seemed to me like a beyond meat/beetroot/veg combination that was hearty, juicy, and full of flavor. Huge portion sizes. Veg cooked to perfection. Extra savory gravy. I am completely impressed! It’s so nice to have an actual Sunday roast and not just veggies as the afterthought “vegan option”. The staff is super friendly and made every effort to accommodate us even when we didn’t have a booking during an extremely busy Sunday lunch. Adding to that, service was speedy and our food arrived perfectly hot. Full honesty on dessert, the vegan chocolate mousse could use some tweaking. The texture was a bit too thick and would be great served with vegan cream or caramel. Again, I really appreciate the Red Lion making a noticeable effort on the plant based options. They’re nailing it and I can’t wait to come back to try their other vegan dishes! "I was in a party of 8. 5 adults a 4 children, 1 needing a highchair. We had 2 booths booked for us so that we would not be squashed which was very thoughtful. the children went on one table and were given a white paper table cloth and crayons. Kept them quiet!!!!. "Completely dissatisfied with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered the Full English Breakfast with tea, and they arrived together as requested. However, the tea was served in a small espresso cup on a saucer, and I had to ask for milk as it came in a milk jar with a lid. The breakfast itself was as advertised, but the plate it was served on was cold, causing the food to quickly cool down. The eggs were undercooked, and the plate was too small for the serving, resulting in the toasted bread falling off. The atmosphere was good, and the initial waitress was adequate, but no one checked in to see if everything was satisfactory. If they had, I would have expressed my dissatisfaction then and there."
