"We had biryani with lamb on the bone and my partner had manchurian veggie balls and veggie noodles. The biryani came in a fairly big bowl but the lamb on the bone portion was only just adequate. The lamb was tender and tasted very nice. The rice was just okay Fairly nice flavours but overrall a very dry dish and I didn't like the cloves in the rice. It was expensive for what it was! My partner enjoyed the manchurian veggie balls but said they were very spicy. She did NOT enjoy the veggie noodles as she said they were bland. I tried the noodles too and I could've done a better cooking job at home and I'm not a good cook!!!!! Most of the veggie noodles were left on the plate!! The waiter did NOT help us with our menu choices which is POOR customer service! To sum up, the food was average and expensive for what you got We may be tempted to return if there is a special offer in TWO years time!!!!! "I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"The food was mediocre and I didnât feel like there was anything special about it. Just tasted like a normal curry from any high street takeaway. The seating was so tightly arranged and at times I couldnât push my chair back to stand because the table behind me had their chairs straight up against my back. Pretty much immediately after we finished eating, we could see the staff eyeing us to leave. And we felt uncomfortable and as if we were imposing even when there was no time limit on the table."

"we were looking for good Indian food near our hotel on glouster photos of india not disappointed. eating was so tasteful without being sharp! we ordered lamm samosas, huhn tikka masala, lamb corma, biryani and naan. for both of us it was perfect! the restaurant was overcrowded, which is always a good sign when there are other possibilities. I would definitely return, it was authentic and so good! happy that we could get a table."

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"On Wednesday, 30/11/22, three local middle-aged pescatarian men celebrated a birthday by going out for lunch at Madras, a Sri-Lankan/South Indian restaurant in Lewisham. They had been to the restaurant before when it was known as The Green Cabin. The restaurant had a few faded decorations and furniture, but the food was always tasty and reasonably priced. They arrived around 13:40 and found the restaurant nearly empty, so they chose a table by the window in the hopes of attracting more customers. The menu offered a mix of traditional Indian and South Indian dishes, and they decided to skip alcohol and order lassis instead. They were cautious about ordering too much due to the spiciness of the food. Throughout their meal, they noticed several delivery couriers coming in and out. A family arrived later on, but the restaurant remained relatively quiet. One of the men accidentally ordered a mixed Thali, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise with a variety of delicious vegetarian dishes. They also ordered a Mutton Masala Dosai and some side dishes to share. The food was spicy but delicious, and they managed to finish everything without needing a doggy bag. The bill came to a reasonable £50.90, and they left a £5 tip before heading out into the streets of Lewisham, happy and satisfied."

"I had an worst experience of my life by spending more than on the food from Ragam. Worst, stale , not at all fresh food they are selling. I am sure it is prepared atleast a day before and put in the fridge and just selling by heating on the date of order. One of my family member got ill as well and had to spent all night puking. Please be aware before you try the food from this restaurant. I will never recommend anyone even if Ragam is giving food for free. Packed food from Tesco's etc stores will be far better and fresh than this restaurant food. Please also see there is not even a single bad review on their website as they do not let that reflected on their website. I am sure even on delivery sites good reviews are put up by their own known people considering the kind of food they are selling. Be Safe"

"Many moons back, my Indian wife and I were havering about buying a house on the Cambridge hill, waked down for a meal at what was then Cocum, subsequently Nivedyam and now Pakka and the quality of the meal led us to set up home nearby! I should explain that I am a Professor of English Literature and Religious Studies, and my wife, one of my first research students in Cambridge, comes from a centuries old Brahmin family of Hindu saints and scholarly pundits. Hence, when we have visitors from our Indian family or academic guests from the world over to entertain, it is vital to take them to a restaurant that represents the best of Indian (and, in particular,of Kerala cuisine. So we keep a close eye and a sensitive tongue on any change to our much prized Cocum and I am delighted to report that two visits now to the smart re vamped restaurant, now PAKKA, have convinced us that the upgrade is stylish (though the image of Shiva is without his flute! , the food as good as ever (I am told the kitchen staff are the same and the student waitresses who are from Kerala, quite as charming as the food and decor. "I visited this Indian restaurant last week, and it was amazing. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The decor was beautiful, and the ambiance was perfect. The restaurant's menu has a great variety of dishes, and the flavors are authentic. The chicken tikka masala was so flavorful, and the naan bread was fresh and warm. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and they make you feel welcome. The restaurant's location is convenient, and the prices are reasonable. I would definitely go back. Overall, I highly recommend it! Dietary restrictions: This restaurant is very accommodating to dietary restrictions. They have vegan and gluten-free options, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the ingredients. The restaurant's menu is clearly labeled, and the staff is happy to answer any questions you may have. Overall, it's a great choice for anyone with dietary restrictions."
"Unwelcoming. Very slow service, had to ask a person who worked in the back who was not a waiter to serve us and he was very nice, if he hadn't done so we would have left. They should employ him as front man! Wrong dish was served. Service was unfriendly, like we were not wanted there. As they served the wrong dish I had to eat my food after the person accompanying me had finished his. Is a large restaurant which is a little chilly, absolutely no effort by the waiters and no ambience, there was some background music but could hardly hear it. Shame because the food is very good and has been since they opened. No good for couples."

"My family had booked the conservatory area for my hen party. On the day, the owner phoned to check with us in the morning if the booking was fine it was. Then about before we are due to arrive, and my family have...arrived to decorate the room he tells us that we can no longer have it because it has already been booked. Even though we booked it weeks earlier and spoken about it on multiple occasions to check the details. To add insult to injury, the manager also tells us that we changed the date earlier in the week when no one did. Plus management called in the morning to confirm the booking. Then they refused to move the other people out saying it was a wedding occasion but when we arrived, it was clearly a birthday. Furthermore we were then placed in the main area, but my family had spent loads of effort and money on decorations which we simply could not put up. Had we known how shoddy this would be, we could have done it anywhere else. I had about guests some of whom had travelled hours and from many different areas in the country to be there, only to receive this awful experience. The management told us that no one else would be allowed in the main area to accommodate us, again you have guessed it. Yet another lie. About later the tables were full of people and they had clearly not done as promised. The service was also slow, and terrible. The owners of this establishment are awful people. If you have double booked, admit to it and offer a larger discount. Instead they just ruined what was supposed to be an amazing night full of memories through anger and inconvenience. We couldn’t do any of the games or the preparation we had planned. Worst experience with memories of India ever. Do not recommend this place ever."

"I vividly remember this restaurant for many reasons. Me, my girl and some of our friends were back from our Iverness and Lochness trip and were roaming around in Edinburgh. The girls were quite hungry and demanded a south indian restaurant search the reason being that they were eating breads all days and were quite tired. They wanted something authentically Indian. We had a long argument with me on one side and the girls on the other. My idea was to explore other non indian options as we have been eating indian for years now. But I ended up giving in. We got in Mezbaan Everyone ordered for Dosas and I settled for some Lamb briyani. The food was really good. No complaints. In fact...read more"

"My partner went out to pick up some vegetables in batter with sweet and sour sauce with Jasmine rice. They were told there was no batter available, so my partner asked if plain vegetables would suffice, to which they agreed. However, what was brought back was disappointing to both of us. Instead of Jasmine rice, we received plain white rice that tasted ordinary. The dish consisted of undercooked peppers, a bunch of overcooked onions, and no other vegetables. We were left wondering why it was so difficult to properly cook some carrots, broccoli, peas, or mushrooms."
