"we booked a table for 5 of us. we had eaten here many years ago, so decided to come back. we all ordered a meal that was very tasty. but. they expect a long waiting period. there's no filthy. we didn't get our main thing until...9:15 and waited for them for 45 minutes. then we were told that we hurry from the waitress when they close at 10 o'clock. that leads me to my next discussion. I had asked about 9 o'clock where the meal was. we felt as if we felt inconvenient, and then we became more frightened with a attitude. a man was not impressed and gave us no professionalism at all. I would also like to say that the restaurant is nothing but to think that they are at a funeral. the drinks are very limited and so is the menu. which Indian bangladeshi restaurant has no fried rice. I would also say that music would be useful in the background. oh jah and serviettes instead of kitchen towels would be helpful. I would invest in the waiter's staff and show them what is the right service, as they could not have been there. we will not return and if they want a soul willing atmosphere and wait old for her to eat, they were not busy on the way then go on. Listen to you."

"We had Sunday lunch at the Green Man yesterday and I can honestly say it’s the best roast dinner I’ve had at a pub for many years in fact I am struggling to think of one as good ever. We were a party of six and three of us had starters. The duck pate was very good could have done with one more piece of bread as there was a LOT of pate. The avocado starter was tasty but the Tiger Prawns were absolutely divine. A generous plateful cooked to perfection and so tasty. Then there were the roasts WOW! The three males in our party all went for the Combo with beef and pork and our plates arrived absolutely piled with meat. We all asked for our beef medium rare and I can honestly say it was the tastiest cut of beef I have ever had in a pub Sunday roast. It melted in the mouth and was full of flavour. My wife had a roast halibut dish which she said was amazing. Unfortunately we were so full after two courses we couldn’t face a dessert. All of us said we were going to hole to flop on the sofa for several hours and recover. The place was totally full and I can see why we had to pay a deposit. They could fill a place twice the size easily. For a small pub they had loads of staff who were all very friendly and cheerful and who checked on us constantly without being intrusive. We don’t live locally so it may be our only visit which is a shame as I’d go back there anytime."

"We have been going to this coffee shop since before Covid each Sunday morning for breakfast. We have found in the last year food cleanliness has deteriorated on a weekly basis. It has now come to the point where sadly we will have to find another establishment to enjoy our Sunday breakfast. The cloth chairs can only be described as filthy and we are constantly having to change cups and cutlery due to them not having been washed properly. The scones are more like pancakes in their shape and to be honest on some days you could break a window with them. We have had to return muffins that we couldn’t cut with a knife due to them being stale. It saddens us to have to write this review as we have become very fond of our Sunday visits but we are not complainers and have bared with things for over six months now and just can’t continue to give our custom anymore."

"A lovely little restaurant, nice seating, spaced tables. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Our party of 4 were quickly seated at our pre-booked table. Our drinks order taken and served while we studied our menus. Each course is cooked to order so a slight delay is in order. As the restaurant was busy, it was noticeable that the delay between courses was minimal. When the food arrived it was beautifully cooked and presented. Each dish was tasty and the portion sizes very good. From starter through to coffee, which was excellent the service was faultless. Truffle has a wine list but you may take your own selection without having to pay corkage. I highly recommend this restaurant ,but, to avoid disappointment pre booking is advised. I look forward to my next visit with pleasure. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Lovely evening, delicious food We the enjoyed the variety of gluten free options. Reasonable price Service was okay a bit slow on the drinks but understandable due to it being quite busy. Felt a little rushed at the end as tables had been booked overlapping being an all you can eat you’d expect a longer time slot than 1 hour 30 min especially when it took 15 minutes to take our first order. But over all a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be coming again Dietary restrictions: Good gluten free options Parking: Can park in the hollywell car park which is opposite, £3.50 for 2 hours or Rose hill for £3 for 2 hours (free after 8) which is about a 5 minute walk"

"My family and I visited the area for the weekend. We have a few dietary restrictions and I usually spend a lot of time searching for a good restaurant where we won't get sick. Due to arriving late, we lost our reservation, but the staff at the restaurant was very accommodating. They quickly set up a table for us (with a high chair for our little one) and even provided a quiet corner for our newborn. The food was delicious and they had plenty of gluten-free options available."

"While on a long road trip across the country, I needed some fuel and stumbled upon this restaurant. The Jamaican curry goat, served with tasty rice, soft roti, and fried plantains on the side, was exactly what I needed. All of this, plus a drink, only cost me about £21. The curry goat was packed with flavor, the meat was tender, and the sauce was delightful. The plantains were also fantastic and you get a generous portion. Overall, the food, ambiance, and price were all top-notch. I would definitely recommend this place."

"I have always gone to eat in at The Viceroy mid week. The atmosphere is quieter due to lack of clientele. I would say that it actually lacks atmosphere. The waiter who has worked here for many years, does not openly engage, this has a tendency to make the experience feel tense and uncomfortable. (I am unable to comment on weekend activity). The food is cooked to average western standards and taste. It is ok and consistent and I have never had a bad experience with the food. I have now found an alternative restaurant on Wigan Rd, heading towards Bamber Bridge. The reason for this, the last 3 times I have eaten in at The Viceroy, I have chosen from the mid week offer menu, where the waiter (older gentleman) has tried to over charge me by a few pounds each time and I have had to challenge the bill. If you do go here or order a takeout/delivery, be sure to check your invoice before payment! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3"

"Really disappointed. Ordered online at 6.30pm. Delivery scheduled for 7.15pm. Called at 7.45 asking for an update. Female who answered said food was out for delivery with 1 other order. Called back again at 8pm. Same person answered, still no apology. I asked to speak to the manager. As I was waiting the food turned up. I kept waiting to speak to the manager. They hung up on me at 8.10pm. £50 worth of lukewarm, pretty tasteless food and a double dose of rudeness. Do yourself a favour and order from Moksha or Roz Ana."

"eating is good, especially the pork and duck dishes, but if they claim to be open until 1 o'clock on Friday and Saturday, then we're sorry that we're not now at 0015 't the best, their delivery times are finished earlier (before 2300) on the day before celebrates. I personally feel that you eat too much meat and not contains enough veg (even if they are much meat and besides no veg like, this can be positiw for them, as the meat is often well cooked) and their sauce is always something too sweet, but both are subjectiv, but their roasted rice is very oily and is not the best, but they cannot win them all. their delivery staff gets the job in courtesy wise and they supply warm eating fast. Moreover, the phone staff are good and give a time forecast and total price with any order that is good, as some places have told me, the end price is up to the supplier, again personal preference, but I prefer a fixed delivery price, even if I live next to or at the rande of their delivery area, it keeps the dinge fair for all customers. I didn't expect meelin star to cook or amazing service I just feel that their style of food doesn't fit me personally, but it is not a bad take and they definitely worth money, especially if they try to have two (or more) people with a single dish and side (and maybe a starter) before they had said that they did not deliver an hour or so before closing."

"I had to check the allergen information before ordering lunch to figure out what I could have, as it wasn't clear from the menu. It would be helpful if the lunch options were labeled as vegan, like previous reviewers suggested. The lunch menu includes naan, which is not vegan. They did offer Roti/Capati as a vegan alternative, but at an extra cost. There are many other vegan-friendly restaurants in the city. Reviewed and updated by a previous reviewer on 10/21/2022."

"Visited the blue naan today with my husband, we received a warm and friendly greeting from Johnny and seated straight away. Restaurant is decorated in a modern and contemporary fashion . Seating is very comfortable with lots of space between tables. We had the Sunday special buffet, there is a good range of starters, main and sides to choose from, we were offered a mixed plate of starters, which saved us having to choose, service was very prompt, good choice of starters, we were offered more starters if we wanted. Good choice of mains, from mild to very hot. I ordered lamb Jalfrezi and chicken korma, both were delicious, hubby had chicken vindaloo, he likes it hot, rice was nicely cooked and naan bread was light and fluffy. We were offered extra dishes if we wanted. Great , friendly service from all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. We will be returning very soon."

"Avoid this place at all costs. I am extremely disappointed with my experience here - it's the worst Indian food I've had in years. You could get a better curry from a microwave meal at Tesco. The Karahi lamb was tasteless with a thin layer of oil on top instead of a rich curry sauce. The butter chicken was bland and sour, while the chicken jalfrezi tasted like watery tomato soup. When we called to complain, we were brushed off and made to feel like we were lying because these dishes are apparently popular. In short, our feedback was not taken well and I've wasted £60 on inedible food. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere for your curry fix."

"Ordered a takeaway for 10 people. I do like Indian food, however, my local family, seem to think a good Indian includes more chips than rice. They also don’t order anything which is traditional Indian, such as vindaloo, hot curries, they go for a mild butter chicken and garlic and cheese nan, revolting. I have to push then to try vegetable samosa’s, chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken. They bypass such dishes, no problem more for me. Overall the takeaway was ok, it’s not the restaurant fault that my local family have chips and more chips. A true Indian restaurant should not be offering chips."

"In the area on holiday when we've been before we had a fantastic meal from roots of India so we ordered again from here, it didn't disappoint. King prawn balti was so tasty my husband loved his prawn korma. I ordered a vegetable bhaji thinking it was like an onion bhaji but it wasn't, it was vegetables done in a spicy sauce, I will know in future its not done in batter, but it was really tasty I would have it again. Great service too, ordered online collected, overall a 10 out of 10 for the food service. We will definitely come again when we come back to the area. Thanks roots of India keep up the great food Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Parking: Plenty of parking around the area"

"We had an absolutely fabulous dinner at The Cinnamon Tree last Thursday evening. The staff were great and nothing was too much for them. The food was divine, a little too much for us to finish, so they happily gave us a box to take away leftovers home. Thank you guys, you have a little gem of a restaurant. 10 out of 10. "Very disappointed with a visit here for my 60th Birthday. We have been coming to the restaurant for the past 20 years and we have always had great food great service good value. I'm not sure if it is under new ownership but the menu has changed which in itself is fine. The menus on the table were plastic and sticky not a good start. We were sat next to the toilet even though we booked the first server was surly to say the least. Considering our table was for 5.30 surely there was no need to seat us there. The choice of food was disappointing there used to be a banquet meal which was great value but that has gone now. All in all not what i expected for what was a significant birthday treat. I could have spent that £100 and enjoyed the food elsewhere"
"Ordered a takeaway as heard it’s good and thought I’d try somewhere new. I had ordered chicken tikka masala and husband had lamb tikka masala. I know it’s not spicy as don’t like it hence why I order this dish every time, well to say it was bland is an understatement, I can honestly say I couldn’t taste anything, I thought I’d phone them up and say I wasn’t happy( something I wouldn’t normally do) I wasn’t funny with them or argumentative and was not even after a refund but was answered with ‘well it’s probably just not to your taste’ we’ve done over 100 masalas tonight without complaint’ . I guess I must be wrong then! No apology, nothing. Just very dismissive. I will not be giving them a second chance, not that they will care if the attitude in the phone is anything to go by."
