"We recently visited The Cinnamon Tree on a Sunday evening for dinner. Due to a change in plans, we didn’t arrive until 20:30 (hadn’t booked a table , however the staff were very accommodating despite it being fairly late. We ordered poppadoms and a chutney tray, followed by staters of chicken chat and prawn puri. The puri wasn’t something I’d tried before, but had read previous reviews where people raved about it, so decided to give it a go, and I was definitely not disappointed! Really tasty and something I’d have again next time. For mains we ordered chicken tikka pathia, chicken korai, chips and a garlic naan. The spices in both curries were beautifully balanced and we thoroughly enjoyed them both (I couldn’t finish all of mine, but the staff kindly boxed the rest up for me to have for lunch the following day! . It’s worth mentioning as well that all the food came out piping hot from the kitchen, so you didn’t feel like it had been sitting around at all. Along with a few of pints of Cobra, the bill came to £60 which I thought was very reasonable for such a great meal. I’d definitely return in future and 100% recommend."

"Frequent take out delivery from SG, today I decided we would eat in (sorry Sam the delivery man), beautifully clean restaurant, music in the background suited us, service was top notch, Laura advised us well and we numbed down on every bit of the “tender pieces of chicken. Chilli paneer is the best in the area for sure. North Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken was to die for and chicken jalfrezi was cooked to perfection. Mack Collie wine was absolutely lovely and they now do Thatchers Gold which suited my other half. Thanks guys, here’s a Scottish phrase from us to you …. LANG MAY YER LUM REEK ….. google it, BW, Moira Gary."

"First Visit to this cafe, we decided here as they advertised Dog friendly, which they definatly were. Looked after us very well without a rush, the food was really good we had hot wraps, which were good value and very tasty. They were also serving all day breakfast and that's what I will have on my next visit. All staff were very friendly, we were looked after by Emma. Thanks"

"Absolutely vile .. I have had many lovely and sometimes average Indian meals but this is by far the worst . I ordered the vegetarian option of korma and my husband a chicken dish . They tasted exactly the same .. looked like baby food and made me throw up . Avoid this place please .. just because they are on the high street and look busy you are made to sit downstairs for this very reason don’t waste you time money or health !"

"I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. Chang and Charmaine are wonderful hosts who go above and beyond to ensure the night is perfect. The service, food quality, and atmosphere are all top-notch. The recommended dishes include Thai Prawn Crackers, Seafood, Chicken and Spring Rolls, Thai Spring Rolls, Crispy Tempura Vegetables, Crispy Fillet of Fish, and Chilli Plum Sauce. The price per person for dinner falls in the range of £40-50. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Absolutely shocking service. Ordered at 18:20, got a notification on just eat that it was delivered at 9pm it was not. Phone was turned off so we had to go into the store to find out what was going on. Apparently there had been an incident in the kitchen, then the story had changed to being short staffed, then no delivery staff. They only wanted to partially refund even though we had never received the food!! Abysmal service I will never return. There are plenty more better options in West Lothian. Extremely disappointed!"

"Terrible, terrible and terrible. This is by far the worst place to eat in Portrush by a country mile. The old Ramada and staff were superb. This new crowd are shocking. This is my second visit, the first was terrible, poor service and sub standard food. On trip advisor they said give us another chance, so I did. How wrong was I, it was even worse if that is possible. Note; It wasn't even busy. The wait to have an order taken was unacceptable, the wait on the starter to arrive was unacceptable, the wait on the main course was so bad we paid and left, went to The Port Hotel and had a beautiful meal. So you ring to complain and there is no where else within this hotel group to complain only the general manager of the hotel?? So you complain to the very person who the buck stops with and who is not doing their job, amazing system how are things going to improve. A hotel in a town where there is a glut of good restaurants to dine at and this place is letting people walk away and have to turn to trip advisor to warn others. This crowd will answer with the same lame excuse as before, sorry you had your chance and your not getting another. Avoid people you have been warned.I had to give it one mark as it won't allow you to give it none."

"This was the first night out my husband and I have had together in three years, and NuMber 9 exceeded our expectations. The tapas-style dishes with an Asian twist were fantastic. We especially loved the spicy nduja-filled burrata and the salt and pepper squid. We will definitely return!"

"We had a lovely meal here yesterday evening (April 30th). The value for money was excellent, with a variety of dishes typically found at Indian restaurants. Although the service was a bit slow—likely because the restaurant was nearly full and we didn’t have a reservation—the staff were attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return if we visit Scarborough again. Thank you for a wonderful night out!"

"I am a fan of Indian cuisine, but I tend to avoid dishes cooked with ghee and food coloring commonly found in British restaurants. As a result, I enjoy cooking new recipes at home. Some of my favorite dishes include tandoori salmon, lentil cakes, coconut and yellow lentil curry, potato and lentil curry, spinach and lentil filo cake, spinach and lentil soup, and zucchini and lentil curry. However, not all restaurants use ghee and food coloring in their dishes. One such example is Pundits Fusion in Upton-Upon-Severn, which prides itself on using fresh ingredients and seasonings instead of powders and artificial additives."

"This is one of the hidden gems in Torquay! I's rare to find a well run family business but this one exceeded our expectations on a number of fronts. Firstly the young daughter greeted us with a warm friendly smile and we were seated promptly. The father was also very polite and welcoming and brought us out some delicious complimentary Pholourie Verna’s popular Apple Garlic Trini dumplings. The food was amazing and fresh and came out promptly. We had the Chicken curry Rotti, coconut rice and peas, salad, Potato and Chick pea Rotti and Fried Plantain. All of which were to die for! My only gripe is that I cannot manage dessert (my own fault)! Although we didn't get to meet Verna we have to say her cooking was magnificent and you can tell from the presentation and taste of the food that she is passionate about cooking her customers high quality and great tasting food! I would also like to add that all the staff there were very welcoming with our young 5 month old baby girl, who occasionally screamed with glee. And last but not least, the restaurant also offers a lovely view of the harbour. Too bad they are planning on retiring soon, so get there before they do!"

"On a recent holiday to Llangorse, we visited the Red Lion twice once for Sunday lunch and once on a Wednesday evening. We’d been looking forward to sampling the menu at the Red Lion since its relaunch and the food was exceptional. Sunday lunch was fantastic the meats were cooked beautifully alongside the huge homemade Yorkshire puddings and spring veg. My partner also commented that the hake was the best fish he had ever had. We almost didn’t have room for pudding (almost! but I’m glad we did as the raspberry pavlova was easily one of the nicest I’ve tasted. Equally, on the Wednesday, between us we went for the bavette steak and the chicken caesar salad and again, everything was delicious. I’d like to say that because of how much we enjoyed the food, we had a great experience at the Red Lion but unfortunately, the service and attitude of some of the staff when we dined there on the Wednesday evening really let us down. We were welcomed to our table by who we think was the chef with no issues. However, as the evening progressed, the service went downhill for us. The two waitresses who served us seemed like they didn’t really want to be there. When our order for mains was taken, we weren’t told that there was no hake on the menu, we only found out from a conversation overheard by my partner at the bar. Equally, the same happened on the Sunday when we weren’t told until we came to order our starters that some items weren’t available which should have been made known to us after we were seated. After our food arrived on the Wednesday, we were not asked by the waitress if we wanted any condiments or anything else they could get for us. When my partner approached the waitress to ask if those of us having steak could have a steak knife, he was told no as the steak should have been tender enough to cut it with a regular knife? We were quite taken aback by that response and despite what the waitress said, a steak knife was still required to cut our meat but at that point, we didn’t want to ask again so got on with our meals. We weren’t asked if everything was ok with our meal until our plates were cleared again, we expected someone to ask this earlier to check everything was ok. We waited a considerable time to be asked if we wanted dessert. We were also confused as we were told at the start of both meals that drinks could only be ordered at the bar, however, when our plates from our mains were being collected, we were told we could order them at the table which was inconsistent to what we’d previously been told. When we told the waitress we did want a dessert, menus were brought out but the waitress didn’t return. A second waitress then appeared and abruptly and rudely asked how many of us were having desserts so she could place the cutlery. There wouldn’t have been any issue at all with this being asked other than the way the waitress spoke or rather shouted at us. The whole party were surprised at her tone of voice to the point where we were almost lost for words. When the same waitress realised we hadn’t actually ordered dessert as the other waitress hadn’t come back to take our order, the waitress did apologise, but then went and sat on the window sill cross legged and asked for our order which we found to be a bit strange and unprofessional. We were also short of one set of dessert cutlery which was then pulled out of the top of the waitress’ dungarees. At that stage, we considered cancelling dessert and paying the bill, however, we persevered and the desserts (biscoff cheesecake and the raspberry pavlova were once again divine. We hope that the issues we have encountered are just teething problems due to it being a new establishment as the service we have received at other local pubs in the area has been second to none whereas in all honesty, we were not made to feel welcome on either occasion we visited the Red Lion. For the price of food and drink here, we would expect more from the level of service and hope this has been rectified at our next visit in 2024."

"Have ordered a few takeaways from here and it’s always been really nice. I’ve just had a masaman curry and it was super tasty and full of flavour only thing I have to say was that I ordered beef but I got chicken instead but it was still nice and there was just one small cube of potato in the dish. My partner had the Thai crispy duck and it was good as well. The food was ready super quick but overall the food is really lovely."

"We use your takeaway delivery service about twice a year, normally our experience is 5 star all the way, however last night we found the food below the normal standard, the Chicken tasted old and re-heated, and the Korma sauce/Gravy was watery and lacking taste, rice however was good, and delivery driver friendly, I hope this is just a one off bad night, food was always delightful from here, makes me wonder if the restaurant has new owners? Service: Take out"

"This was an absolutely fantastic dining experience. The team here are very attentive and courteous. Pride in the food and taste is paramount to them and as such the service reflects in the fantastic standard of food. The chicken Jalfrezi I had accompanied by a keema Nan was absolutely superb! Great flavour with the after glow from spice but not too hot. A fragranced dish that leaves a very pleasing taste to the pallet. My Wife opted for the king prawn massallam which was a creamy style sauce with a slight spice, not hot but just enough for those that like a little bite….. tandoori roti was perfect. The Saag Aloo was also fantastic with great flavouring. Sometimes this can be bland but not here! Overall this was a fantastic dining experience and we are very pleased we found it using reviews just like this. I assure you, you will not be disappointed here…. Thank you to the team and the fantastic chef!"

"I am flabbergasted by how rude the manager Helen is. I have never experienced customer service like this and Marstons really need to review her position. I feel so sorry for the staff that work under her. I had left a review on TripAdvisor and her response is a massive lie and even called my most excellent, well behavied 10 Yr old daughter disrespectful. This is disgusting and completely out of order trying to blame a child for her own behaviour? I really wish I had recorded this experience to send to Marstons. I suggest dining there undercover to see for yourselves."
"needed somewhere to have a Sunday Lunch as we were holidaying locally and called by on the off chance they could accommodate three adults, child and a dog. There was a sign to say 'sorry fully booked ' however upon asking is there a long shot for a table, they kindly offered us a table in the bar which was perfectly out of the way and roomy. Attentive service and a great community atmosphere, the food was excellent. Thank you team Badger Hounds!"
