"Average food, average atmosphere, grumpy staff. Overall an indian restaurant with uninspired and medium cooking. Dishes looked all kind of the same: some red to brown curry with something in it. We had to pay extra for your rice I have never encountered a restaurant before where you have to pay for your rice to add to your curry. Recommended only if all other restaurants in this area are too busy..."

"I used to be a regular customer of this restaurant but have recently developed some allergies. If you have any dietary requirements this is not the restaurant for you! God forbid if you have a nut allergy or want to ask if they have any gluten free dishes, they do not want to know! Their customer services was not great and they didn’t seem to have any interest or care in listening to any allergies which you may have to accommodate your requirements. If they cannot accommodate your requirements that’s fair enough, but there is a way in which you convey this message to your customers! Will not be ordering from this restuarant again! #Disappointed #Allergies #NoCustomerService #NoLoyalty"

"Searched online for a nearby curry house and found this one which wasn't too far away from the Travelodge were we were staying. Rang to book a table and asked the person on the phone if we could bring our own beer with a response of yes. On arrival bit surprised of the location in a housing estate but we decided to stay. Lamb Bhuna nothing like I am used to with a strange taste but the lamb was excellent. Garlic nan not up to scratch either. During the meal the owner came over and moaned that we were drinking our own lager as they were licensed, I explained that when we booked we were told it would be ok and that he should moan at his staff not his paying customers in the middle of eating their meal. really annoyed about this. Because of his attitude and the food quality I would not reccomend this restaurant."

"We started dining at this restaurant after the first lockdown and I can no longer highly recommend it for its food and service. The staff is always friendly and happy to accommodate us, whether we choose to dine in, take away, or have it delivered. The prices are fair for the large portions of high-quality food they serve. Deliveries are always on time, or even earlier than expected. Occasionally, they have even given us a complimentary bottle of wine or beer, which is a nice gesture. Overall, this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Cheltenham!"

"treat Tuesday. I had booked in the last minute, and although they said I might have to wait as they were very busy, there was a table ready for us. First visit in this restaurant and I enjoyed the evening. all staff very polite, attentive and friendly. had their tapas special offer and also ordered a few additional starters. there were many. the whole food was freshly cooked, well presented, delicious, and we enjoyed tasting various types of food, not only Indian cuisine. we couldn't finish it so they got involved for us to take it away. extremely good value and just the right kind of tasty to warm them up on a victorious Tuesday night."

"Had food here and the carvery was fine. Bar staff were sharp and nice. the place is very big but I have never been in there late. Loads of ex footballers come to the pub for events so it has a been football following and live music. Not sure if it felt like my kinda evening venue so I never tried. Its the same sort of thing as the Bell and the Carpenter. They all start to blend one into the other with styling, menus and target markets. If its your thing go for it."

"Visiting from Sydney and this restaurant was recommended by friends an inspired choice, just what we needed. The pappadums and incredible dips were just the start onion bhajis, chicken pakora entrees were delicious and the chicken korma, chicken vindaloo and lamb saag were all mouth watering. The staff were just lovely and even ordered our cab when it was time to leave. Looking forward to future visits."

"I feel harsh giving 3 star because the chef was amazing and that’s the main thing but it’s a tiny place it’s like someone’s house kitchen TV just has normal tv on while the woman sits on the sofa . I don’t think she’s being rude on purpose but she is just rude hardly speaks and when she does she speaks to you like you’re not a customer . She wasn’t bringing out the drinks we ordered so we asked after about 10 minutes she then spoke to a man who went to the shop and came back with some drinks in a bag (what I ordered) feel abit robbed from that . The bill was £54 she didn’t show any receipt but we got 2 Cobras 1 sprite 2 papadoms 1 Chicken lollipop starter Nan basket 1 salad 1 chicken byrani 1 savannah special So probably some service charge added on to get to that price as the 2 mains only came to £20 from what I remember looking at the menu so we’ve some how spent £34 on rest I wouldn’t go back felt way to awkward watching itv in someone’s kitchen"

"I had the most disappointing Indian meal in years at this restaurant. The samosa was tiny and lacked meat, priced at £3.95 for just two pieces. The onion bhajis were also £3.95 for a portion of two, and the bhindi portion was only a few spoonfuls for £3.75. The prawn on puri was not much better, with small shrimp on slightly larger prawn crackers. The tandoori mixed grill was a letdown at £12.95, with dry slices of lamb and chicken, a small seekh kebab, and a piece of chicken that looked old. The food was cold and dry, and most of it ended up in the bin. I would never return here after spending over £45 on such a lackluster meal. It's clear that the restaurant lacks quality and care in their dishes. I would not recommend dining here."

"I made a reservation online and received confirmation via email. On the day of our reservation, myself and my friends arrived at the restaurant only to be told they were fully booked. Despite showing my confirmation, the staff informed me that they had only been open for 2 weeks and were not online. After speaking with the manager, we were eventually seated at a table (despite many empty tables available). We waited an hour for our food to arrive and had to request cutlery and napkins as they were not provided. While waiting, a large table who were also waiting for their food ended up leaving. Overall, I will not be returning to this restaurant anytime soon."

"My family ordered dinner from this restaurant tonight, and my sister exclaimed that it was the best curry she has ever had. She mentioned that she would be willing to travel just to dine here again. The meal was amazing and arrived on time as scheduled. We were very pleased with both the flavor and heat of the dishes."

"The restaurant itself is decorated quite nicely and was busy, which makes you think you're going to have a good meal. My food was not very hot and lacked meat. When our order was being taken the waiter was disinterested, miserable and never came back to ask if the meal was ok or whether we wanted more drinks. At the end of the evening I handed the waiter my gourmet card, he had no idea what it was and questioned it. I don't think I'd visit again soon due to poor service, miserable staff and cold food."

"they don't judge a book. I would never have ordered after the loading front. but ordered from here a few times by chance from just eat. the first few paintings they were decent enough to not rave over, but good quality. tonight I ordered my usual and it came fast and was absolutely unrealistic. a decent amount of flavored and very tasteful. definitive improvement. I will order from here in future. 5 stars for me personally. edit: 10 times since my first review ordered. 9/10 were the top kerb curries. this evening rogan josh was absolutely ineffective. compliments to the cook."

"1580 started their new menu on 19. juni and we tried:•vegan samosa chat•chaat bomb•bombay chili chicken•bhutwa lamm darm, leber, niere, heart stomach•khasi ko jhol mutton•murgh makhani butter chicken•achari baigan aubergine curry•double tadkalimal•gulab they really tasted “pure” as we would like to describe it; not spoiled by too much fat or heavy hand season. we were especially fond of the controversial plate on the menu: bhutwa. it was so tasty and the cooking process meant that it doesn't look like inners or have the texture that they could expect. we would order this again and encourage them to try this. we could not get enough of all dressed really, but the vegan samosa chat and khasi ko jhol where really enjoy our pleasure. we love to see mutton, more of a occurs on menus in the last time there is a wonderful ambiente in the restaurant, the personal is really helpful, and they have a well-stocked bar with a series of original cocktails. you should visit 1580. we would recommend getting the train if this is an option (chester rd,) so they can offer the benefits of the 2 for £10 cocktails"
