"The New Anand is how I remember Indian restaurants the decor is a mixture of Rennie Macintosh and a minimalist scheme executed by the set designers of Barbie after a night on the razz. The exterior resembles the typical Victorian ferry buildings you find on the end of a pier walking through the door is like stepping into your silver Delorean to find yourself emerging into the late 70 's early 80 's ... the menu is wonderfull with at least 2 versions of every curry you can name, they still give you popadoms and spicy onions to munch on as you attempt to navigate/decode a menu which would confound Alan Turing and the team at Bletchley Park however the food itself is utterly divine. Tandoori tikka mix is arrives sizzling and its big chunks of succulent fizzling chicken reeking of fresh herbs and spices. The korma ordered arrived as a hot dish of creamy brown heaven, medium sized chunks of chicken cooked perfectly in a smooth sweet coconut and spice sauce not one single drop was left by the end. The fried rice was as full of flavor as it was colourful, and moist, despite a search no one single dry chunks stuck together could be found. Portions outrageously generous, there is a buffet option (bain marie) which was gorgeously aromatic, fragrant and piping hot numerous plates passed by bulging with an impressive mixture of utterly delicious helpings. The drinks were decent and affordable, from rose wine to a perfunctory range of spirits for beer aficionados they do have the amber stuff chilled on draught. Visit often, enjoy the food, savour the moment, you will find New Anand a rare drama free oasis of calm no loud people on phones taking plate pictures for their TikTok/Instagram/Meta followers here. Curry fans are strongly encouraged to take a trip Back to the Future before it is, one day, lost to the past. 5 Marty McFly stars Update just as brilliant as Doc Brown 's design for the flux capacitor, the dishes are as fresh as if they had just been delivered by a kid on hover board. "I ended up driving to pick up the food! I eat here usually but all the dishes were not good today! disappointing waste of money. meat was tough the naan bread was solid and dry. won't eat there again after tonight! ordered at 5.35 and had a phone call at 6.40 saying my food would be another 30 mins after it was supposed to be out on delivery for 6.25... so I said I would drive to collect! waste of time and money!"

"The wife and I ordered several dishes but one that cost nearly nine pound had only some noodles and a bit of chicken in it. I contacted the restaurant to complain and the manager was most unhelpful borderline aggressive and said to contact Deliveroo as they could not help. I suggested that Deliveroo were probably not responsible for the quality size of food leaving their kitchen but the manager was not having it and hung up on me. "Never again! Have not been there for 10 years and will Never go back. Not sure who paid you to write those amazing reviews or you never had any quality food and good service in you life probably. "So where do I begin.... I thought I 'd try this establishment again after having a good ish experience, this time As a take away. Please understand I live 2 roads away from this restaurant and waited an hour and 5 minutes for my food! Whilst on the phone to an incompetent manager the food was received and was STONE cold! The excuse was given to me from the manager that yes it is only 25 minutes late what is the big problem which I brought to his attention that it was NOT 25 minutes late as I was told 30 minutes remember 1hour 5minutes! I requested a full refund in which I was called by a senior manager who was at home. This coward of a man is rude, unknowledgeable, incompetent and disgusting and is very lucky he has not met me in person! Especially after hanging up on me because he didn 't like it when I made a fool of his solutions as they were totally a joke. He started the conversation by calling me a liar, suggesting I TEXT him my bank details for a refund to which I declined for obvious reason, he then proceeded to shout and try to be sarcastic! Biggest mistake to make and didn 't like it when I put him in his place. Then demanded I never order from him again and that I was wasting my time as his restaurant was the absolute best I the area! HAHAHA funny mate. After an hour of arguing and him contradicting his own points I made sure he understood that receiving my refund immediately was the best solution as I would take this further. "We visited The Lion 's Inn Restaurant on Tuesday 11th June 2024. For me it was a trip down memory lane, my old Dad used to go there in the 40s and 50s when it was the Cedars and I actually sat in his old seat to have our meal. The meal was absolutely first class we had a starter each which was the size of a main meal. Then I had a Lamb Madras and my wife had a Lamb Shashlik absolutely fabulous, best Madras I 've ever had. The Staff were so friendly and made us very welcome. I highly recommend the Lions Inn. I will never forget that night. Thank you. John and Sue Brady."

"Had an incredible experience, the place has completely changed under the new management since last year. We happened to go in by chance and were really surprised by the great service. "Gurkha Village is a well-established restaurant located very close to Oxford. The staff is respectful and attentive to customers' needs, and the service time is excellent. Although the food may not be traditionally Nepali, as it includes more than just the typical Dhal, Bhat, and Takari, the meals are generally very good with generous portions. Most of the dishes were of good quality, except for the Nan bread. It would be nice to see some new menu options and daily specials added to enhance the dining experience.
