"This place is very nice with excellent food and delicatessen but the girl serving hasn’t got a clue on what she is selling, as matter of fact I asked about an Italian cheese that she had right under her nose but she told me that they didn’t have it in store. "For our main course, we both had steak, and it was delightful; they truly serve the best steaks I've ever had. However, I ordered dauphinoise potatoes on the side, which turned out to be extremely dry and tasteless, resembling boiled sliced potatoes with a crispy top instead of the creamy goodness I expected. We also ordered a side of mixed vegetables, but they forgot about it. We assured them it was no problem if it would take a while, but they ultimately prepared it, arriving only after I had finished my meal. When we spoke to the waiter, he mentioned that the usual chef was absent (as we had requested something from an old menu), so I suspect these mix-ups were due to a new chef or perhaps a less experienced one working on Wednesdays. Overall, we were quite dissatisfied with our meal, but we’ve enjoyed the restaurant in the past, so we will return—just not on a Wednesday!"

"Lovely building and surroundings with the old mill wheel exposed in the centre of the building. The steaks are always good as is typical of a Millers. The cocktails here are of a good standard and most the time they will make you what you ask for not just what is on the menu. The waitresses and waiters are excellent and take good care of you and know the menu very well All in all you can pretty much guarantee a good meal here. Came on Valentine's last and even with it being very busy everything was still excellent. Went Nov 23 and had the Ambassador cut, it was an excellent steak for a fair price."

"We had a perfect meal at this restaurant, thanks to Lucy's excellent service. She graciously accommodated our request to move to a quieter table away from the main path. Lucy was polite, friendly, and very attentive. The food was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much. In terms of parking, it can be challenging to find spots and not always convenient. However, the restaurant has ramps and disabled parking spots near the entrance for wheelchair accessibility. Overall, the service was excellent."

"This was only my second ever visit to a Miller Carter, having taken my family to the Sutton Coldfield restaurant last year, so this is just a quick review to say the quality of service and food seems consistent across at least two of the venues. Steak was excellent, sides delicious, and all served piping hot and super quick. It's a big venue, and was moderately full, so this suggests that their kitchens are clearly very capable. The staff were all very polite and helpful, and the place was tastefully decorated. It seems like the M C chain are a reliable choice for a good meal yes, you pay a small premium, but for the quality of fare it's worth it."

"We decided to book for our Anniversary and arrived a few minutes early to be greeted by a very polite and welcoming man. We were seated right away and informed that James would be serving us. James took our drink order and gave us time to decide on our food. He checked for any allergies at our table, and I mentioned my crustacean allergy, though I had eaten at Miller Carter before without any issues. Our starters, sticky chipotle chicken, were absolutely delicious. Our main course, a perfect medium rare steak with skin-on fries and beef dripping sauce, was also excellent. We were too full for dessert, but James offered it to us anyways. Our experience at Miller Carter has always been good, but this time was extra special thanks to James. Despite being busy with a large party, he was attentive to all the other tables as well. There are about 40 parking spaces easily accessible to the side and back of the restaurant."

"Shocking meal waited over an hour for our dinner had to ask for it!! amazingly came out within minutes. Sadly all food was cold, manageress basically called me a liar. Was my wifes birthday found staff rude and seem like they hate their job! Food well over rated will never go back here. Shocking experience, left most of the food and got 15% off bill!!! Tried to get that back with overcharges on drinks which they did apologise for. Crafty place and ryde manageress. Medium rare steak on a 28 punce cut of beef takes an hour to cook!!! Manageress words useless! Asked what the house white was no one knew the grape."

"Lovely meal, excellent staff but had to wait too long for our table, arrived at 1945 for our 2000 booking, we waited 15 minutes at the bar for a drink as previous customers wanted cocktails and it was 2115 before we were seated, the starter arrived pretty quickly but had to wait ages for our main course, just before 2200 and our dessert arrived at 2235. I appreciate that it was a Saturday evening but it was a birthday celebration. We will visit again, just not on a Saturday."

"I went for the Sunday carvery, and I regret that decision. The food was cold and so limp that it was inedible. The Yorkshire puddings were cold, the roast potatoes, despite being advertised as crispy, were actually soggy, and the herbs on top were the only crispy part. The roast carrots and parsnips were also cold and drenched in oil, and the meat was dry. "Booked as a Mothers Day celebration because there were no bookings available at the weekend. Had told my Mother that it was excellent, my favourite restaurant, the best place for miles for fillet steak etc etc. She was really looking forward to it. However, the...meal arrived on a cool plate, the chips were lukewarm, as was the steak and the onion loaf was cold. It was 6pm and the place was practically deserted with only 2 other people awaiting their meal. We sent both meals back and they returned at exactly the same temperature, except that the chips were now hot. We complained to the waitress and her reply was that she had seen the chips come out of the fryer. The two ladies at the next table also complained that their meal was not hot and they were given fresh chips. We then left as we felt that we were not going to receive a hot meal. We had both ordered fillet steak at a considerable but acceptable cost for a good quality meal, but not for food that was not hot. I have eaten there regularly since it opened but shall not do so again."

"Christmas Dinner 2023 We waited, stood in reception for quite a while before we were noticed or seated there was no one there to greet us with a smile then when we were finally acknowledged we were sat on a table outside the toilet. We were not offered a drink at all almost 20 minutes went by after we were seated we had to finally grab someone passing and ask who our server was and ask for a drink. The service wasn’t good, we didn’t know who our server was for almost 40 minutes, the food was not an enjoyable experience at all. The 4 canapés were sad they looked like they had piped them onto the dry cracker hours before, cold and old looking. The 2 chicken liver pate ones were ok tasting the other two were unpleasant . Visually sad looking. The onion tart presented well but was far too sweet the balance of flavour was very poor, the mushroom soup looked nice but tasted like tinned and not fresh. Main course was very disappointing, the positives were the turkey gravy was warm and moist and tasted nice the one small stuffing wrap was very tasty. Negatives, the roast potatoes were not crispy fairly hard they tasted unpleasant. The carrots were over cooked, mushy tasteless as were the sprouts, the cauliflower cheese has almost no cheese sauce and there was no cheese in the sauce. Parsnips bland undercooked tasteless like the rest of the vegetables. No seasoning on anything. We both chose a cheese board the basic cheeses were fine the sweet pickle was nice although the blue wasn’t a good choice something softer creamier would have been a far better choice. The crackers were visually very nice to look at and the few grapes were pleasant, sweet and seedless, they are the positives. The presentation of the cheeseboard was unbelievably bad it was all just thrown on a thick white plate with no finesse or even a garnish in sight. They say you eat with your eyes first, well …when I saw the cheese board I sighed…. it was just like a child had put it on the plate. This made me feel like the restaurant just don’t care about making this a good experience. Drinks The cocktail was coconut rum and raspberry, didn’t taste of raspberry at all and I didn’t drink it. As I love coconut and rum a raspberry it’s hard to see how they messed this up so much so that I couldn’t force myself to drink it. They don’t have a sparkling rose on the menu that you can buy by the glass, you have to buy a large bottle. I did request one and was refused and it was only after I asked to speak to the manager that an open bottle was found and I was offered a glass of it. All in all the experience was unpleasant the four different servers that we flagged down to get served didn’t smile at us once between them and we weren’t made to feel welcome or like our custom was appreciated the meal cost around £230 for two quite frankly I don’t feel like I got my monies worth it was very very disappointing. I would not go back."

"If you're looking for a bite to eat at a chain restaurant in this area, M C is the better option between the two. I've been dining here for a while and always receive a friendly welcome. The food is consistently good, although nothing extraordinary since it is a chain restaurant. However, it seems like the staff are paid enough to care about the quality of the food they serve. It's a great spot for post-cycle meals, unlike the neighboring Rotting Fox Roadkill Raven. Make sure not to mix up these two places, or you may end up regretting it."

"I cannot fault the service, the food and the atmosphere. Everything was brilliant. Been to the restaurant a few weeks back for a birthday celebration with my parents. We arrived earlier than we were supposed to but that seemed not to be a problem, we were immediately seated. Our waitress, Sharon, was a star. She was very frendly, prompt and thorough with our order. She made sure that she made a note of the dietary requirements and advised accordingly. The food was fabulous, steaks cooked to perfection, the sides were amazing and the cocktails were amazing too. Sharon came by our table a few times asking if everything was alright with the food and if we needed anything else. Her service was just amazing. The other staff members, even if we haven't interacted with them, you could see they were smiling and the atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxing and very friendly. All in all the experience has exceed my expectations and I will be definitely be coming back."

"Enjoyed a cracking early lunch here today 24/9 with 4 adults in our party. Plenty of free parking for guests and easily accessible from major Exeter road links. "Me and my partner have just been to the Miller and Carter restaurant in Leeds to celebrate our anniversary, and wanted somewhere nice enough to eat, so thought we’d try here for the first time, we were NOT disappointed. From arrival, we were made to feel very welcome by all the lovely staff, however brownie points go to a young man called Bradley, who looked after us all night! (I hope that’s his name because it was on the top of the bill, but the nice gentleman with dark hair and glasses that’s just come back to work today . He made us feel VERY welcome, from first getting in to the restaurant to leaving, and definitely made us want to return. There aren’t enough people like Bradley, he was very friendly, attentive and efficient with his service, and was always on the ball to make sure we weren’t dying of thirst. Felt like he went above and beyond for us, and deserved a good tip… and a pay rise too should I say The meal itself was lovely, and the credit goes obviously to the chefs working tonight. Everything about our evening went very smoothly, and we will love to return. Possibly the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to, and it wasn’t too expensive either, which is something we’ve always tried to consider if we’ve gone for a nice meal. Usually, we found that we could pay a lot for a meal, but would still go hungry by the end of the night. At miller and carter, we had REALLY good portion sizes (maybe a bit tooo big, but can never complain!! and we’re definitely full to the say the least, Thank you for a lovely evening!"
