"Owners need to sort this out. The review is regarding the deli only. I have visited multiple times for drinks and snacks on the go. The drinks are good. But my goodness the customer service is appalling. The staff there are so rude, they need training in customer service. Every time you go in, when you order you feel an inconvenience, they talk amongst themselves even when they are serving you especially when one is sat at the counter eating her lunch of breakfast. there is no eye contact. No friendly good morning or thank you. Just that’s £4.10. Really unprofessional. They don't even take care to remember your order. My partner goes in there multiple times a week and they never remember her order. She orders the same thing at least twice a week. No care or attention.say what you like about Costa and the likes but they remember your order. If it carries on I’ll avoid completely. Lots of other locals have said similar. Shame."

It was well prepared, with great flavour and is generally much better than you get in an average steak restaurant. The location is central to the city, so parking is a challenge, but I would say it's worth the trip, finding a space and walking to the restaurant. "For our main course, we both had steak, and it was delightful; they truly serve the best steaks I've ever had. However, I ordered dauphinoise potatoes on the side, which turned out to be extremely dry and tasteless, resembling boiled sliced potatoes with a crispy top instead of the creamy goodness I expected. We also ordered a side of mixed vegetables, but they forgot about it. We assured them it was no problem if it would take a while, but they ultimately prepared it, arriving only after I had finished my meal. When we spoke to the waiter, he mentioned that the usual chef was absent (as we had requested something from an old menu), so I suspect these mix-ups were due to a new chef or perhaps a less experienced one working on Wednesdays. Overall, we were quite dissatisfied with our meal, but we’ve enjoyed the restaurant in the past, so we will return—just not on a Wednesday!"

"We visited the restaurant for the first time for my partner's birthday meal, and we absolutely loved it. Our son, who is usually quite fussy, really enjoyed his burger and was the first to finish! My steak was cooked to perfection, and the meat juices were simply amazing. If only Miller & Carter served a few slices of crusty bread to soak up those delicious juices, I would have been exceptionally happy! I must admit, I didn't quite understand the point of the wedge of salad, and to be honest, I could have done without that. Our waiter was very attentive, though I regret that I can't remember his name."

"Recently went here to celebrate relatives anniversary, so we decided to come down to Miller Carter. The staff were very polite and friendly, Jane was our server she was lovely! The food was exquisite I could not complain, they serve lovely steaks here and the cocktails are excellent! They make a mean Long Island Tea! The price you pay is quite reasonable for what you get, I would thoroughly recommend coming here for a nice meal. The atmosphere is lovely to!"

"We had a perfect meal at this restaurant, thanks to Lucy's excellent service. She graciously accommodated our request to move to a quieter table away from the main path. Lucy was polite, friendly, and very attentive. The food was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much. In terms of parking, it can be challenging to find spots and not always convenient. However, the restaurant has ramps and disabled parking spots near the entrance for wheelchair accessibility. Overall, the service was excellent."

"This was only my second ever visit to a Miller Carter, having taken my family to the Sutton Coldfield restaurant last year, so this is just a quick review to say the quality of service and food seems consistent across at least two of the venues. Steak was excellent, sides delicious, and all served piping hot and super quick. It's a big venue, and was moderately full, so this suggests that their kitchens are clearly very capable. The staff were all very polite and helpful, and the place was tastefully decorated. It seems like the M C chain are a reliable choice for a good meal yes, you pay a small premium, but for the quality of fare it's worth it."

"Shocking meal waited over an hour for our dinner had to ask for it!! amazingly came out within minutes. Sadly all food was cold, manageress basically called me a liar. Was my wifes birthday found staff rude and seem like they hate their job! Food well over rated will never go back here. Shocking experience, left most of the food and got 15% off bill!!! Tried to get that back with overcharges on drinks which they did apologise for. Crafty place and ryde manageress. Medium rare steak on a 28 punce cut of beef takes an hour to cook!!! "Lovely meal, excellent staff but had to wait too long for our table, arrived at 1945 for our 2000 booking, we waited 15 minutes at the bar for a drink as previous customers wanted cocktails and it was 2115 before we were seated, the starter arrived pretty quickly but had to wait ages for our main course, just before 2200 and our dessert arrived at 2235. I appreciate that it was a Saturday evening but it was a birthday celebration. We will visit again, just not on a Saturday."

"The dining experience was quite pleasant, though I found it to be on the expensive side. We tried the black dishes and the lamb, both of which were of excellent quality, well-prepared, and satisfying. The food was beautifully presented and freshly cooked, which was apparent. The atmosphere was lovely, and the establishment was clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I did notice that there could be more options on the menu, but it wasn't a major issue. If you're staying at the hotel, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. "Visiting Crewe with my wife we decided to take an early lunch at Miller and Carter. Our choice of restaurant being influenced by an earlier experience at the Telford outlet. Receiving a warm greeting from Reception we were shown to our table by David, who was to be our server throughout the meal. The Fixed Price Menu seemed to meet our needs and we ordered starters of salt and pepper calamari and sticky chipotle chicken. The main course being two 7 oz Rump steaks, one served with a mixed salad and the other with onion loaf, tomato, and seasoned fries. Drinks comprised a glass of a very pleasing South African merlot and a Fevertree tonic water. The meal met with our expectations and the steaks (cooked medium) had just the right degree of pinkness. The dishes were well prepared, nicely presented, and the steaks in particular were full of flavour. Competitively priced at £16.25 per head for a 2-course lunch, or £19.25 if wanting a dessert, we thought it represented very good value for money. The restaurant gave out a pleasant ambience and the spacious seating ensured comfort in just the right setting. Mention should also be made of the washroom facilities which were as to be expected. Having spent a good number of years in Hospitality Management I could not fault our young attendant David, who we both thought performed his tasks to a high standard. Happy to recommend."

"Christmas Dinner 2023 We waited, stood in reception for quite a while before we were noticed or seated there was no one there to greet us with a smile then when we were finally acknowledged we were sat on a table outside the toilet. We were not offered a drink at all almost 20 minutes went by after we were seated we had to finally grab someone passing and ask who our server was and ask for a drink. The service wasn’t good, we didn’t know who our server was for almost 40 minutes, the food was not an enjoyable experience at all. The 4 canapés were sad they looked like they had piped them onto the dry cracker hours before, cold and old looking. The 2 chicken liver pate ones were ok tasting the other two were unpleasant . Visually sad looking. The onion tart presented well but was far too sweet the balance of flavour was very poor, the mushroom soup looked nice but tasted like tinned and not fresh. Main course was very disappointing, the positives were the turkey gravy was warm and moist and tasted nice the one small stuffing wrap was very tasty. Negatives, the roast potatoes were not crispy fairly hard they tasted unpleasant. The carrots were over cooked, mushy tasteless as were the sprouts, the cauliflower cheese has almost no cheese sauce and there was no cheese in the sauce. Parsnips bland undercooked tasteless like the rest of the vegetables. No seasoning on anything. We both chose a cheese board the basic cheeses were fine the sweet pickle was nice although the blue wasn’t a good choice something softer creamier would have been a far better choice. The crackers were visually very nice to look at and the few grapes were pleasant, sweet and seedless, they are the positives. The presentation of the cheeseboard was unbelievably bad it was all just thrown on a thick white plate with no finesse or even a garnish in sight. They say you eat with your eyes first, well …when I saw the cheese board I sighed…. it was just like a child had put it on the plate. This made me feel like the restaurant just don’t care about making this a good experience. Drinks The cocktail was coconut rum and raspberry, didn’t taste of raspberry at all and I didn’t drink it. As I love coconut and rum a raspberry it’s hard to see how they messed this up so much so that I couldn’t force myself to drink it. They don’t have a sparkling rose on the menu that you can buy by the glass, you have to buy a large bottle. I did request one and was refused and it was only after I asked to speak to the manager that an open bottle was found and I was offered a glass of it. All in all the experience was unpleasant the four different servers that we flagged down to get served didn’t smile at us once between them and we weren’t made to feel welcome or like our custom was appreciated the meal cost around £230 for two quite frankly I don’t feel like I got my monies worth it was very very disappointing. I would not go back."

"if I could give zero stars I would! excessively noisy so unable to enjoy our group dinner (6 adults/1 child) it was akin to being in a pub bar could barely hear ourselves speak. Not at all Miller Carter brand quality of ambiance had to wait ages for drinks to arrive and an hour for our dinner to arrive we thought about leaving at the 45 minute mark Ordered a bread board the bread was burned around the edges and very crispy. Cheese burger was the type of quality and flavour you would expect from a much lower level establishment very disappointing for what it cost. kids meal was very expensive (same food ordered as sides would have been much cheaper) kids and adults mac cheese was watery and tasted like a packet mix. absolutely awful meal and ambiance definitely wont be back and wouldnt recommend to anyone else either. Couldnt wait to leave. Have eaten at Miller Carter in Horsham, W Sussex and it was lovely but this was exactly like a Travel Lodge level restaurant not at all up to the expected level of a true Miler Carter restaurant."

"Our first visit (in the Leeds branch) and a real find. The restaurant layout decor resulted in a good vibe and the service was prompt and efficient. We warmed to our waitress as the session progressed. Advice provided the waitress regarding the steak proved accurate, i.e. don't go for a rare ribeye, make it medium rare to ensure full flavour and avoid chewiness. The drinks were also excellent (especially the Mojito cocktail which was prepared properly unlike many places) Food was especially good and made all the better by decent offerings for my pescatarian wife which meant we could both enjoy our meals. The 50 day ribeye was top class In summary we were both impressed throughout and would definitely look for a Miller and Carter option in future."
