"We visited The Chaser Inn yesterday. We were quickly shown to our table which was positioned in a beautiful room with high ceilings large windows. The room was titled the church room. The waitress immediately took our drinks order service throughout the meal was prompt efficient. We both ordered two roast dinners, one with chicken one with pork. I was a little disappointed with my meal... although the chicken was cooked perfectly and there was plenty of it , the potatoes were dry hard the Yorkshire pudding lacked flavour. The price of £18 plus for each meal did reflect the size quality of the meat but unfortunately the rest of the meal did not live up to my expectations."

"We normally love Firehouse as my dad has Coeliac disease, which means he needs gluten free food, and they have lots of options for him. However on August 29th I sent them an email about their online ordering as we had tried to get a takeaway from them the night before, but the only options we had to order from were starters, sides and drinks. I had absolutely no response to the email I sent was disappointed with that as normally their customer service is great. This is the email i sent: Have to admit we were quite disappointed last night when we were going to get a delivery from yourselves but the menu showed we could only get starters, sides drinks. We love getting food from yourself especially due to the fact my dad had plenty of gluten free options. But there were absolutely no options for any of us to pick from last night. Not your usual good service hopefully this was a one off issue with the online delivery menu. We were unsure if this issue was just for us or for every customer, which is why we decided to contact you incase you didn't know that was happening with the online menu. It's now the 12th of September and we are still awaiting a response in regards to the issue outlined in the email sent. Once again very disappointed, but hopefully this is a one off incident as we love your food."

"cucina managed to press the two of us on what was clearly a very busy Friday night. they seem to have a lot of personal (which is rare nowadays! what meant service was attentive, but not too much and everything was done beautifully. eating was fab, wein was super cold and tasty, atmosphere was cracking. the place is much more beautiful and cosier and authentic in the interior than they expect from outside (what I think looks quite industrial). we will be back safely. they were looking for our local 'go to' place when they think something more lust and that could be it!"

"they are no longer open on the afternoon. darren was friendly enough to offer me a take-off, but only accepted cash and no card or bank transfer. He led me to an ATM at the BP station they didn't have. I had to run over 3 km around kwik save to the next cash machine. this delay caused the eating I had ordered to be so bad. I ordered the bada boom gluten-free and the chocolate caked (has gluten). it took a lot to walk to get here, the nearest bus stop is 1.5 km away and a slightly inclined road. I couldn't enjoy sitting outside. it also found carb overload full of kartoffel chips and a hash brown. the grinding time is very dry, since no sauces were provided. the donut looks and has the texture of a donuts, but did not taste like one and had a fake eating taste on it. the patty is also gluten-free, which is good to adapt to most meals in order to be gluten-free. updated by previous review on 2021-10-07"

"good food and good service. I've eaten here since it was lorettos and I've never been disappointed. if they are looking for high-quality caffe, then this is the place. I tend to stay on the chippy part of the menu, as I think they are cakes, borons and chips is the best thing I had everywhere. the other diners seem always happy and satisfied, no doubt because in the part of the excellent service, which in the rule only one waitress who does a great work! I'm ashamed to say I never tried their pasta dishes, but diner saw them tear off with gusto, I think they're as good as anything else. "This was our first visit to the Queen Victoria in Theydon Bois and I can honestly say that it won’t be our last. We’d been wanting to come for a while and on Sunday we finally had the chance. The result was very positive with great food , good service and a very friendly atmosphere. The pub is situated in the heart of Theydon Bois with ample parking at the front and rear. As you enter there is the bar area on the right with the dining room with table service on the left. But you can actually eat anywhere including outside. When we arrived we received a nice friendly welcome before we were shown to our table. We then ordered a drink while we looked at the menus to which there was a choice of the main menu as well as the addition of a selection of sunday roasts. We decided to start with a selection of crusty bread which came with balsamic , olive oil butter. For our starters we chose the Stilton Pork Pie accompanied with watercress piccalilli as well as the Posh Whitebait with smoked paprika , homemade tartare sauce , crispy kale lemon. These were to delightful dishes and a great way to begin. Now it was time for our roasts. My wife chose the Slow Roasted Lamb Shank. For myself i chose to have the Hand Carved Roasted Sirloin of Beef. The roasts came with braised red cabbage , seasonal vegetables , roast potatoes , yorkshire pudding gravy. You could also add items to your roast and I just couldn’t resist so opted to add cauliflower cheese pork loin to create a monster of a roast dinner. It was now time to finish with two fabulous desserts and for these we chose the Salted Caramel Profiteroles with chocolate sauce and the Apple Crumble Tart with oats , cinnamon vanilla ice cream. We finished with a coffee to bring to an end a great sunday lunch. The food was very good and was matched by friendly service from all the staff but especially our waitress Natalie who was excellent and a credit to the hospitality industry. I would definitely recommend a visit and are looking forward returning again soon to try the food from the main menu. Many Thanks to all the team for a fabulous lunch and look forward to seeing you all again soon."

"Decided to give this place a try having been to Prezzo a number of times over the years and was very pleasantly surprised the restaurant itself was larger than I'd expected and was nicely decorated, and the food was excellent and enjoyed by the...whole family. We had a range of different dishes pizza, pasta, risotto and a vegan burger (with real cheese) and all were absolutely delicious. The pasta and risotto portions were also good certainly bigger than the meagre portions we've been given in some other restaurants. The only thing I would just mention is that some of the prices are slightly on the high side £12.95 (plus 10% tip) for a burger (which did come with very nice fries) did seem slightly steep. Nonetheless, we're all looking forward to our next visit."

"We eat here regularly, sometimes we sit in for lunch, other times we get a takeaway and on occasion we’ll pop in to grab a coffee and a chat. The staff are always friendly and happy to chat, especially Eddie the manager, but also the waiting staff and even the chef will take a few moments to say hello. The food is always fresh and cooked to order as well as quite reasonably priced, don’t go in if you’re not hungry because the portions are generous. If you are feeling brave order the Calzone, it’s a monster of a meal but so delicious."

"My partner and I came in today, later in the day and was surprised to see how quiet it was and was worried. We were pleasantly surprised by a friendly service and spectacular food order. My partner had the pulled pork and I had the Veggie Chilli, we shared nachos and it was better than most subways I have had! The staff catered towards my dietary requirements, making the distinction between me being vegetarian or vegan. All in all a great little place, would definitely return again and I would love to see this business in more places."

"Where to start! I Emailed Dean and Abby from Mexico, to see if they could fit me in with a very last minute booking for an extended stay. Within minutes they responded and gave me a great price. The room is beautiful and pristine clean. It has it's own private bathroom and shower, and plenty of space to hang clothes, and drawer to store my clothes. It's freezing cold outside, but my room is cozy and warm. The complimentary tea, coffee and cookies went down a treat. It is very quiet despite the fact there is a main road out front, and it is also a busy bar and restaurant. Both Dean and Abby are very welcoming and have gone out of their way to accommodate me and my partner. I highly recommend a stay here. It is close to the town center, and bus routes, which is an added bonus. Well done guys on a really well run, welcoming establishment."

"Good clean food.. Went for impromptu lunch Monday lunchtime-ish, was quiet inside. Service was perfectly acceptable, I had the ribeye, with peppercorn sauce, my friend had the lamb chops. Portion sizes were absolutely fine and the steak was cooked med-rare as requested. The fries were crunchy and plentiful. The salad with mustard dressing was a nice compliment to the steak and my friend was more than happy with her lamb! Peppercorn sauce was very fresh, and heavy on flavour... 7/10"

"For my husbands birthday we wanted to try somewhere new and we’re recommended this pub by a colleague. From the moment I booked I had high hopes because the lady on the phone was so polite and friendly, she asked which area we wanted to sit in and when I said we’d not been before she told me she would put us by the window on one of the best tables in the restaurant. I had high hopes that we would enjoy our visit and honestly I can’t speak highly enough of it. When we arrived the car park was ample and we went to the bar and said we’d not been before, greeted by a gentleman who took us through to our table and took our drink order straight away. We were given time to peruse the menu and a lady who was leaving suggested the chicken strips were incredible. Looking at the menu the light bits would be nice to see in the evenings and we couldn’t find the chicken strips but then spotted a specials menu which was just out of sight. I ordered the chicken strips which were not strips at all but giant battered chicken and my husband had the crab linguine, both were huge portions, very generous. We also spotted other diners meals and must say the steaks look incredible. Our food we could not fault, the staff were attentive and the venue itself is quaint and a welcome change from busy, loud venues. I had to take some food home and didn’t have a pudding but we’re told we could take away which we would do next time. When we left we were thanked for visiting and certainly would visit again. It really did feel like such a special evening and we can’t wait to return and bring the family!"
