"The restaurant staff were promoting the new Barbie movie by wearing hula chain necklaces and the restaurant was decorated in a holiday theme. Despite no one being at the counter when we arrived, we were quickly greeted and shown to our table. The ordering process was smooth and our waiter was efficient. The service between ordering and receiving our drinks and food was fast. Although the food was a bit pricey, it was fresh and delicious. We especially enjoyed the brownie dessert. This restaurant is great for couples, families, or anyone in between. We left a generous tip as the service was excellent. There is also a good selection of wines, beers, and spirits for those who enjoy a drink. I highly recommend this restaurant for a tasty meal."

"This charming vegan restaurant offers a menu with gluten free and nut free options clearly marked. The katsu curry was delightful; I especially appreciated the breaded tofu that was gluten-free. However, it's worth noting that because all food is prepared together, there may be the possibility of cross contamination. They also offer gluten free beer, although I didn't have the chance to try it."

"Sadly I am unable to review the food as we never did get to eat here So, purely reviewing the customer service. Arrived on Saturday as a party of 8 (inc wheelchair) We were told it would be upto an hour wait to get a table as was very busy. We were Ok with this and proceeded to buy drinks at the bar. We then sat outside and waited patiently (we did also have a 2 year old within our group) but we kept her occupied. The man who was taking names came out to see us after about 50 mins and just checked it was us who were the large group (with wheelchair) Then, after about an hour, another young man came out and said “sorry, it doesn’t look like you are getting a table for a good while yet as we can’t get you in” Obviously after an hour of waiting patiently and spending money over the bar this was rather annoying. We were then told we could place an order at the external Fish and chip window (anything from the menu) and take it away. We all agreed (as we were hungry and the child was getting tetchy) that we would do this So, we got our order together and went to the window. Annoyingly we were then told it would be at least another hour for food as it’s the same kitchen. Obviously we then left, as this was just unacceptable. So, in summary, poor customer service (not from the two chaps who were taking names but from the managers pls do not take names for large groups if you can’t get them in. You are happy to then take our money over the bar and make people wait but then to not even have a table is beyond good. Sadly a sour taste left in our mouth from this poor experience."

"Lovely looking cafe in Glasgow's West End. I had haddock with some coleslaw, my partner had burger and chips, and we both had a mug of tea each. My haddock initially had a strange taste and I soon realised it was the tartare sauce. It was horrible! I ate what I could of the rest but the tartare sauce left a nasty taste in my mouth. That said, I had a few chips from my girlfriend's plate and they were very nice. No grease at all, and in fairness the fish wasn't greasy either. My girlfriend didn't really enjoy her burger saying that the bun didn't taste great and the Gold Star tomato ketchup wasn't great either. The lady who served us though was so welcoming and friendly and a credit to this place. She was lovely and the tip we gave was for her. The cafe is basic but equally quite stylish with exposed brickwork lit up which I liked, and the prices were OK. Please, please, please though get rid of them tartare sauce sachets. I know Gold Star tomato ketchup is what chippies in Scotland use so I can't really suggest changing. I did like the coleslaw though. Food. 6/10 Service. 10/10"

"We phoned on a wet Sunday and were lucky enough to get a table for the Sunday Carvery. I was slightly concerned at being asked to pay for the meal before I had even sat at the table, and I also found it odd that we were unable to add drinks to our bill (you have to go to the bar and pay for those separately). We decided to stick with it and I'm very glad we did because the meal itself was superb! A choice of three different meats, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and probably ten different varieties of vegetable gave plenty of choice. My wife had beef and turkey, while I had just beef and without a doubt it was one of the best roast lunches either of us have ever had. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic (the Cauliflower Cheese especially was superb). THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED and I would go out of my way to eat here again."

"First visit here and definitely won't be the last...warm welcome on arrival by friendly staff, was given time to browse the menu before ordering, whilst drinks were brought to our table. The food is nothing but outstanding...tastes as good as it looks. It was amazing and cooked to perfection! Best food i have ever had in a pub restaurant. The place was very clean and plenty space around the table to be able to move chairs in and out etc easily. The service was very quick...Will definitely be returning soon."

"We like this pub but had a mixed experience when we went for Sunday lunch today. Three of us had ordered the winter caeser salad which said it came with kale, Baby spinach, roasted butternut squash, red onion, puy lentils, sourdough croutons and Caesar dressing, for £13. I added halloumi for an extra £3. The added halloumi was fine but the base salads were very small when they came up, and there were about 4 small (less than 1cm cubed) pieces of butternut squash on each. We queried with our waitress to see is this as it should be. She took one of our plates away and went to check with the chef and came back to say yes they were as they should be. She did then say she would give us an extra salad on the house to share between us, which meant we didn’t leave feeling too aggrieved, but it did make me think don’t ever order a salad there again as they seem to think a measley portion of leaves and vegetables and lentils is fine for £13! Tasty but avoid. Good service though from our waitress who didn’t then dodge us for the rest of the meal but instead came back to check on us and make sure everything was ok."

"We eat here regularly, sometimes we sit in for lunch, other times we get a takeaway and on occasion we’ll pop in to grab a coffee and a chat. The staff are always friendly and happy to chat, especially Eddie the manager, but also the waiting staff and even the chef will take a few moments to say hello. The food is always fresh and cooked to order as well as quite reasonably priced, don’t go in if you’re not hungry because the portions are generous. If you are feeling brave order the Calzone, it’s a monster of a meal but so delicious."

"This was simply excellent from start to finish. This was the first time I’ve visited since the new management had taken over. The menus was fresh and modern with good focus on steaks. We had some questions about the menu which were answered perfectly to without any snobbery or complex explanation’s. I had the salmon starter which with the sauce either was severed with and the flavour from the curing was off the charts. The thickness of the slices was also nice and gave a real firm texture Great dish. I had the tomahawk sharer for main course which by the way is more than enough for 3. Great piece of meat and cooked to perfection. First class operation, and great atmosphere. A nice build would be 1 or 2 more variations on the starters but I guess if these change regularly then that not an issue. Well done to all I’m involved. It was that good I came back for Sunday lunch the following day !"

"Where to start! I Emailed Dean and Abby from Mexico, to see if they could fit me in with a very last minute booking for an extended stay. Within minutes they responded and gave me a great price. The room is beautiful and pristine clean. It has it's own private bathroom and shower, and plenty of space to hang clothes, and drawer to store my clothes. It's freezing cold outside, but my room is cozy and warm. The complimentary tea, coffee and cookies went down a treat. It is very quiet despite the fact there is a main road out front, and it is also a busy bar and restaurant. Both Dean and Abby are very welcoming and have gone out of their way to accommodate me and my partner. I highly recommend a stay here. It is close to the town center, and bus routes, which is an added bonus. Well done guys on a really well run, welcoming establishment."

"Family reunion meal prebooked for a group of 14 early in August while on holiday in the area. All ready for us as promised on arrival with one large table at the end of the main restaurant. Very well looked after by Eleanor and her team. Gorgeous food with large variety of options to choose from. The GF and V requirements of two of the group were fully met. Beautifully presented in every case high quality food for the prices charged. Drinks also at very reasonable prices. By pre ordering the previous day from the supplied menu the service was slick starters on the table soon after arrival. Wonderful traditional style hotel building with a marvellous sea view from the dining room in this most beautiful area. Hope to be back!."

"I had the most pathetic starter I have eaten in ages; this was a hens egg with asparagus. Basically a hard-boiled egg slightly coated in batter with no seasoning whatsoever. The 3 spears of asparagus were cold so was the plate. For the main meal I had a pan fried seabass with what loked like baby leeks of some sort. The leeks were blushed slightly in hot water therefore hard but to top it all up it wasn 't washed and had to endure the most awful grinding of soil. When i raised this with staff there was no apology apart from 'i will let the chef know '. Prior to this, we had to wait what seemed like ages for someone to get our drinks. Anywhere the staff came to take our food orders we had to ask if we could have drinks orders first. This was followed by another long wait. The cutlery was also dirty and there was also a lack of ambiance. We noted that online it states that this restaurant has 2 AA Rossette stars but on the restaurant, there 's a plate on the wall which shows it has been awarded a 1 AA Rossette. I would politely and assertively ask the (Rossette) awarding criteria being revisited or maybe its no longer fit for purpose because this place is a joke, to say the least."

"I was rejected twice here without coming a booking and after a table for 1. so for the third time luck, got a table. the place is cool, the setting feels secret and the decoration with the books and the brief fish was interesting. the menu is actually quite expensive, also for my budget and the only thing I didn't like is the Polish waitress, alexandra. please smile and not freeze. I ordered the fish soup, the Orkney scallops with long-stainted and a side chip. the suppe was thick, but still there were pieces of laughs and swirling to give texture. I enjoyed my main court full although I had ordered the lobster instead of saving me some repeated effort. the scallops was tender and the dressing for the whole plate gave many aromes. finally dessert, I ordered the sticky toffee pudding, an old classic. it was actually a little too sweet for me and instead of ordering it with ice cream, they go for only ice. forget the price problem, every penny worth."

"We have visited this restaurant several times. The first time was last March and the food and service were fantastic. However, when we went again in June, the menu had changed and nothing stood out to us, so we opted to just have drinks instead. In November, the beer we ordered was clearly off so we switched to bottles. We returned again this March, and once again the beer was off. The service was also underwhelming and there was no hand wash or hot water in the restrooms. We will not be returning to this restaurant. It is a real shame, as Taylor's in North Bay, which is part of the same company, is excellent."

The staff, who are always busy, were friendly and polite, and the pick-up process was quick and easy. Thank you! The brownies were delicious! We have also tried their afternoon tea boxes in the past, and they were amazing. Great choice!"

"Booked a table on short notice at 5pm they had availability at 7pm was nice to be informed on the phone what dishes weren't available. Got to the restaurant on time orderd starters and mains which were nice, went to the bar at 8.10 to order desserts but unfortunately was informed the kitchen was closed would have been nice to be informed this at time of booking or when ordering the food at the bar as we would have preferred mains and desserts rather than starters and mains, was our second visit unlikely to drive out that way to go back."
