"This was simply excellent from start to finish. This was the first time I’ve visited since the new management had taken over. The menus was fresh and modern with good focus on steaks. We had some questions about the menu which were answered perfectly to without any snobbery or complex explanation’s. I had the salmon starter which with the sauce either was severed with and the flavour from the curing was off the charts. The thickness of the slices was also nice and gave a real firm texture Great dish. I had the tomahawk sharer for main course which by the way is more than enough for 3. Great piece of meat and cooked to perfection. First class operation, and great atmosphere. A nice build would be 1 or 2 more variations on the starters but I guess if these change regularly then that not an issue. Well done to all I’m involved. It was that good I came back for Sunday lunch the following day !"

Came here for steak night, good selection of steaks; fillets, ribeyes, tomahawks and then had t-bones on the specials! Steak was cooked to perfection, very generous portions.

Oh dear, soooo good. They got a BBQ in the kitchen, South Africans so it must be a Braai. Who cares, venison so smokey from the coals cutting like butter, nearly brought a tear to my eye. Beautiful.

Stopped off here for a meal en route to Lincoln, after reading the reviews. The food is outstanding my daughter said that it was the best steak she has ever had. My other daughter and I had burgers, which were delicious and the fries stayed piping hot. The portion sizes were perfect. The staff are welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be returning. First time at The Kings Head since the new owners took over. Friendly welcome, interesting lunch time menu with some South African twists on some dishes. The food was excellent. The belly pork starter really tasty and crunchy edges. But the sticky toffee pudding was excellent, if you choose this have the upgrade Amarula bomb with it. Make excellent into something more. I am sure we will be back. They are dog friendly in the bar area, locals liked the dog we had with us, made lots of fuss over him.

Had a lovely meal at the King's Head Navenby on a Friday evening. Highly recommended. Attentive and friendly staff, comfortable and pleasant surroundings, and most importantly the food is excellent! My partner and I had beef wellington, which was really delicious. The desserts were lovely too I had a rhubarb and ginger creme brulee, and it was the best brulee I had ever tasted! My partner had the carrot cake, from the special's board, and he was very impressed too. The new management, and the new chef, are doing an excellent job. We will be back!

Great to see the Kings Head open again with a warm welcome for customers. A fairly limited choice on the fixed price lunch menu but decent food although I personally prefer my chips to be peeled before cooking. The beef Wellington from the main menu was slightly undercooked and a bit fatty in places for the cost so would not be my choice. However, we enjoyed our visit and will return in the future providing the heating is on as it was very cold in the restaurant. I was told the heating is on for two hours in the morning then it goes off. I would suggest it’s put on nearer to lunch service for the comfort of the customers. View menu

The Kings Head is under new management and they are doing a fantastic job! Had a table for 4 for the Sunday lunch. 1. Nice homely atmosphere. 2. Staff very friendly and attentive. 3. Food amazing. 4. Wine list brilliant Chapel Down! 3 of us had the beef and 1 had the pork. We had the cauliflower cheese and vegetables too. All were cooked to perfection and very very tasty. The roast potatoes were crunchy on the outside, the beef and pork beautifully cooked and the gravy gorgeous. The cheese board with the fruity crackers fantastic and a great selection of cheeses. This was my first visit to The Kings Head since the change of landlord and we will certainly return! Well done to the team at the...

We visited here after the new ownership. We were very excited as we had enjoyed the food ambiance of this nearby pub a few years ago. In between a couple of takeovers we were so glad to finally enjoy familiar surroundings with friendly new owners. We had a superb Sunday lunch late in the afternoon, the service was excellent, the food delicious. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and you must try the cauliflower cheese! The new owners Stewart Rachel) are extremely pleasant took time to chat . We popped back for a lunchtime drink in the week we were both instantly recognised , a great touch as so many people have been visiting since then ! Only living in the nearby village we are very kee...
